  1. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:06 PM) As I recall Garcia did just fine last season in the playoffs. :rolly It's not last year. He's clearly not the same pitcher.
  2. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:05 PM) Vazquez and Garcia can't start a playoff game. We NEED a starter... it's so ridiculously obvious. Remember Vazquez's last playoff start?
  3. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:02 PM) Nothing to do with a realy great, hot bat then? Perhaps today, but how about the other 20 homers he's given up this year?
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) And there's those 5 runs I guaranteed Garcia would give up. What a f***ing joke our pitching staff has become. There really never was a doubt. Our starters are just plain not very good.
  5. Why isn't Mackowiak showing up Garcia for giving up a gopherball? I mean, it was entirely Garcia's fault, no?
  6. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:57 PM) f***ING OWNED!!!!!! Nuke, I think he was making a point against you. Last year, Garland and Buehrle had won nothing in the playoffs, whereas Johnson had. This year, we have the Randy Johnson type, and the Tigers have the Garland/Buehrle types.
  7. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) Why do you need a panic button when you have the second best record in MLB? Because crappy starters don't win in the playoffs.
  8. I hope whichever outfielder is under the next homer given up by Garcia shows Freddy up by tossing his arms in the air and staring at him.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) Whoa calm down. I think I'm going to leave this thread now because it is too depressing. I am in no way attacking you. But if we can't worry about terrible pitching halfway through the season, then when can we?
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:43 PM) Jermaine-f***ing-Dye. Shut up about our staff, we'll be fine. NO! We're more than halfway through the f***ing season. Two guys with ERA's in the 4's, two guys with ERA's in the 5's (maybe 3 after today). They're not getting better. At what point can we f***ing worry?!
  11. Thank God for our offense. And whoever called it, kudos.
  12. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:39 PM) Even more incredible to me is our pitchers inability to pitch over poor fielding. Mark Buehrle syndrome? The others must have caught it.
  13. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) Here's what bugs me: Is Coop and the rest of the coaching staff unable to adjust Freddy's delivery to hold runners on a little better, or is Freddy unable to make the adjustment himself? He doesn't seem to ever change his approach with a runner on first - almost zero throws to first to hold the runner, and then it's one look over and the lonnnnnnnng leg-lift. It's laughable to watch anyone and everyone run at will on him. I want to know what Coop is doing, period. Why are our starters so bad this year, and getting worse? What is he doing to fix this?
  14. Man, our starters are NOT getting better. The only one doing so is Garland. Vazquez, Garcia, and Buehrle continue to get worse and worse. Our rotation is so very overrated.
  15. Garcia really gives himself no chance to win this year. He has no velocity and he allows every runner to reach base to easily steal on him.
  16. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:28 PM) he has every right to be mad, wtf was that? its a damn pop up and no one can f***in catch it???? he just wants to win. 2-1, there u go, thats why he was mad, cuz u knew they would take advantage, instead of one run, its 2 Mistakes are gonna happen. Garcia has to keep his cool or else things go badly (remember Vazquez). He also made a bad pitch to Lowell. Crisp continues to hurt us.
  17. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) Thanks McCarver. I'm sure FG was trying to show up his IF and wasn't just frustrated by the outcome. He shouldn't have done that anyway. He did sort of look like he was pissed at the defenders.
  18. Garcia, how about not showing up your teammates? You're not pitching nearly well enough to do that.
  19. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:20 PM) 35 pitches, 22 strikes That's really low. Might end up hurting us.
  20. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) Mackowiak is now hitting .303 with a .395 OBP. Would it really hurt to let him have a shot leading off? Beckett's pitch count must be relatively low. Anyone?
  21. Beckett really takes his time between pitches. Iguchi grounds out.
