QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:57 PM) Liriano>Papelbon Halladay>Papelbon Santana>Papelbon Care for me to continue? If Gagne can get the Cy Young for his season a few years back, Papelbon should easily get it if he continues this pace.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) Well, the Sox 3-4-5 have a shot to show a little something here today. I feel like I'm the only one who even cares.... We're all still watching, buddy.

QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:54 PM) We'll see how he fair's against the big 3 next inning pal. We sure will. But for us to come back in this one, we'll have to score more runs in an inning than he's given up all year. Yeah, that's insane. Can anyone argue against him getting the Cy Young?

Iguchi took the best pitch to lead off the at-bat. He could've taken that one yard. It's pretty safe to say this game is over. And Papelbon deserves the Cy Young this year.

Red Sox @ White Sox - July 8
Hasn't allowed a run on the road this year. Ridiculous...

Gonna need a miracle here.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) Some of you folks need a break from watching this team or something...."waiting on all our pitchers to be FAs so we can get new arms", "after Schilling shuts us out tomorrow"...good lord. The starters need a break, too.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) Too bad our World Championship team last year never lost a series. These are two clearly different teams. Last year was the kind that wins with pitching and defense. This year, we win with offense. We've seen how well that works from 2001-2004.

Red Sox @ White Sox - July 8
Boston took one 1 to surpass the damage we did with 3.
-
Red Sox @ White Sox - July 8
Ok ok, bases loaded and no outs for Boston. Who wants to bet they get at least 1 across?

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:30 PM) Why is everyone concerned about the pitching? Coop can fix 'em. He's a miracle worker. See: Garcia, Garland, Buehrle, Vazquez.

QUOTE(G&T @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:29 PM) Well we CAN blame the offense, but you are right. THIS ENTIRE SEASON when the pitchers needed a good inning they've failed miserably. These guys can't get a third out without something bad happening. Fixed that.
-
Red Sox @ White Sox - July 8
We can't blame this one on the offense. When you have to bail out your pitching EVERY SINGLE GAME, you're going to fail once in a while. The pressure on the offense to win games for our starters EVERYDAY must be extremely heavy. To reiterate, the offense can't be expected to win EVERY GAME for us. The pitching has to contribute at some point this season.

Haha, oh man.

So many homer swings, so little to show for it so far.

Red Sox @ White Sox - July 8
Way to earn your money there. At least he didn't GIDP. Gotta have a positive attitude!
-
Red Sox @ White Sox - July 8
Just don't GIDP so Dye can have a chance, PK.
-
Red Sox @ White Sox - July 8
Ughhhh, big K there. I hope PK doesn't GIDP for the 5th time this week.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:13 PM) Nobody is denying that the starting pitching has been subpar, but it's incredibably ridiculous to absolutely give up on them with no hope that they can turn it back around, especially given their track records. Have a little f***in' faith. Bases loaded. Thome. I will not have faith in Garcia because he clearly has something wrong with him. And I will not have faith in Vazquez because there is really no reason to, he has shown us nothing to make me believe he'll be good. Buehrle and Garland can turn it around, but they better hurry the f*** up.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:09 PM) LOL. Milkman has left you in the dust. I have, and with good reason. The starters are absolutly horrible.
-
Red Sox @ White Sox - July 8
How do our starters get better, people? How does Garcia get his velocity back? How does Vazquez stop making the mistakes he's made his entire career? How do Buehrle and Garland stop being completely inconsistent? It's about time we accept the fact that we'll have to slug our way into and through the playoffs if we hope to get to where we did last year.

Red Sox @ White Sox - July 8
We've given up like 5, 6, 7 runs so many times this season. Our pitching is truly garbage.
