  1. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:13 PM) Nobody is denying that the starting pitching has been subpar, but it's incredibably ridiculous to absolutely give up on them with no hope that they can turn it back around, especially given their track records. Have a little f***in' faith. Bases loaded. Thome. I will not have faith in Garcia because he clearly has something wrong with him. And I will not have faith in Vazquez because there is really no reason to, he has shown us nothing to make me believe he'll be good. Buehrle and Garland can turn it around, but they better hurry the f*** up.
  2. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:09 PM) LOL. Milkman has left you in the dust. I have, and with good reason. The starters are absolutly horrible.
  3. How do our starters get better, people? How does Garcia get his velocity back? How does Vazquez stop making the mistakes he's made his entire career? How do Buehrle and Garland stop being completely inconsistent? It's about time we accept the fact that we'll have to slug our way into and through the playoffs if we hope to get to where we did last year.
  4. We've given up like 5, 6, 7 runs so many times this season. Our pitching is truly garbage.
  5. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:59 PM) when was the last time we had a complete game? or when was the last time a starter went 8 innings...7? I can hardly remember the last time a starter went 7 innings. They mostly leave with only 6 IP. More runs score. Seems we can't beat good teams, just like the Tigers.
  6. Hahaha, f***. It doesn't even matter who we put in anymore. They'll all give up runs.
  7. Here comes Garland. Honestly, what is going on anymore? I feel like the pitching is just in a downward spiral.
  8. How has our pitching gotten so much worse in one offseason?
  9. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:46 PM) Oh, you mean the weak argument that all their pitchers are just gonna all of a sudden start to suck in August and September? No, but that's a good one, too. I meant the argument that the Tigers can't beat good teams, when we've already dropped a series to the Blue Jays and are close to dropping one to the Red Sox.
  10. We might have one less argument against Tiger fans pretty soon if we can't score more runs.
  11. Well, Joe's killed about his 8th rally in the last 3 days.
  12. It's time for the offense to bail out the s***ty pitching for about the 53rd time this year.
  13. Is this why Riske got zero holds last year? Is this normal for him?
  14. s***, I'm starting to see why people say Riske can't be used in a tight spot.
  15. We're losing again. Pods with a sissy girl throw, and Riske I guess is really bad in close games.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:18 PM) Detroit comes in at #1 (their pitchers are still putting up Historic numbers). LA Angels are 2, Oakland at 3. Seattle at 5. I don't take solace in the fact that 2 of the other playoff teams have better starters than we do.
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:15 PM) Yes, but it's also painfully clear that they're still the #4 starting staff in the AL despite all those problems. And it'd be pretty hard for them to do worse in the 2nd half than they did in the first. Who are 1, 2, and 3?
  18. Boston's defense is much better than it has been in years past.
  19. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) I 've got to go, you guys are negging me out. Remember guys, these are the Sox your watching, not the Royals. No offense, but can you even see the games? It's painfully clear that our starters have some serious problems.
  20. SERIOUSLY, THANK GOD FOR OUR f***ING OFFENSE
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:09 PM) So, based on that criterion, we should trade Javier Vazquez for Josh Beckett. I'm just pointing out that Vazquez doesn't have the mental toughness to succeed on such a stage as the playoffs.
