QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 03:40 PM) "The way I see it," I said, "the Red Sox are the Yankees with a little less money, and a lot less success." "That's 'cause we're cursed!" "Yeah, well, with payrolls like the ones you typically carry, you should be able to make any curse lift." "We did, man, but those Yankees, they suck." That's it, exactly. They don't realize that they have become what they hate so much.

Soccer Tips: Any advice for a goalkeeper?
Milkman delivers replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Always remember you can use your hands. Which brings me to my second point. Don't do crack. -
How terrible and unoriginal is b**** Sox? Honestly, how can that be funny to anyone at all, or even considered mildly funny or clever? s***, White Sux is about 1,000x funnier and more clever than that.

Red Sox fans are far worse than Yankee fans. I've been in close contact with both, trust me. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 03:28 PM) Milkman = Solid I'm here all week.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 03:14 PM) red sox fans are the worst sports fans in the country in any sport....they think they knwo everything, and they think the entire world revolves around the bosox....i cant stand em Yup. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 03:05 PM) Shoot I just had a great t-shirt idea that I could probably make thousands off of had I had it in time: A black & white t-shirt with a picture of the head of a broom. Underneath it says: HEY BOSTON. REMEMBER US? No offense, but I wouldn't buy that shirt.

Who starts in Manny's place, though? -
QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 01:25 PM) That had to be Ed Farmer, not Rooney, otherwise I'm schizphrenic. Same difference. Like I said earlier, I never listen to the radio. I've just heard it a lot of times since then.
-
QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) i wish hawk called pauly in game 2 of the series Rooney's call was just as good. Don't know if it could be topped. Sox lead, 6-4. Light it up!

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) ... are remote Very nice. The exact response I was hoping for. But seriously, why don't they just let AJ say what he wants in his own words?

QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 12:40 PM) It seems to me, every time Farmer starts talking about a HR, it happens. I can't remember how many times he has done it but he will say something along the lines of "Boy, a long one here would put the Sox right back in it." And then his next line is "And there is a deep shot to right....". It seems they call the shot pretty often. I don't listen to the radio very often, but it seems that all Farmer ever talks about is homers. So, it's not surprising that when there's actually a homer, he said something about it before it happened.
-
Chances that AJ actually wrote this?
-
Considering money, this Cubs team has to be one of THE worst teams in the history of baseball.
-
I can't remember how the call went, but I remember the AJ walkoff against the Dodgers being something special.
-
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 11:25 AM) Which two would you guess? Tejada, of course, and then possibly an outside shot for Glaus.
-
It's nice to see a HR derby with so little steroid abusers in it. I would only guess one, or possibly two, in this year's derby.

I'm pretty much done with Javier Vazquez.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 09:45 AM) Jose Contreras was horse s*** this time last year too... just sayin'. Why do people keep saying that? I don't rememer Jose's ERA being over 5 at any point last year. -
QUOTE(chisox72 @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) Here you go Milkman..... Thank you...hilarious.

I don't know about lack of effort, but I decided a while back that this guy will never be a good pitcher. He just is just a poor pitcher. All the talent in the world, but he's got no idea how to pitcher. A thrower is what he is. It's gotten to the point with him that I cannot even watch him. For the last few games he's pitched, I have made sure to do something else while we're on defense. He's pretty much a more expensive El Duque. He throws about 100 pitches through 5 innings, never gets into the 7th inning, gives up a lot of runs with a 5+ ERA, is a strain on the bullpen, and is not fun to watch. -
A few things: Does anyone else think Ozzie purposely took Redman to drive home the point that not all teams should have representatives? Is Glavine starting for the NL? Does anyone have that picture of Barrett punching AJ that says "Frustration" and looks like a poster?
-
Thank you This is why we're Sox fans. Some of us are negative, others are positive, and the rest are somewhere in between. But all of us, down to the last poster, put in a significant amount of their time to come together and get AJ into the ASG. We should really be proud.
-
Seriously, is there a Twins board besides the MLB one?

GAME THREAD 7-6-06 SOX vs Orioles
Milkman delivers replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in 2006 Season in Review
AJ, it's time to give us a treat for all of our collective effort in the last week. Hit 4 homers today, and we're even. -
On the Twins' MLB.com forum, some of the people are saying that NL fans and players voted for AJ because they felt they had a better chance of winning with him on the team than they did with Liriano on it. Haha, it's funny to see people trying to make excuses.
-
We really deserve some credit for this one. We really showed up the rest of the country. EVERYONE hates AJ, and we still managed to band together and get his ass into the ASG.
-
Hahahaha, f*** you, rest of nation.
