Uribe doubles. For some reason, this reminds me of the Colorado series from last year.

Almost another homer, but Garcia manages to put up a 1-2-3 inning.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 08:58 PM) Isnt there a difference between tough and stupid... because playing in a wrestling match rather than get your ear re-attached comes off to me as more stupid than tough. I'd probably use the term crazy rather than stupid. You have to be a little nuts to do some of those things. And the money probably doesn't hurt. Most of those hardcore guys don't see too much cash, but Foley has gotten pretty wealthy, I think.

Pablo Ozuna
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 10:50 AM) BA had him at like #8 in the nation, IIRC. In the nation? Damn.

Pretty much everyone else has stepped it up, Freddy. It's your turn now (I'd use that Willie Harris picture here if I had it). And offense, be prepared to score quite a few runs...just in case.

Pablo Ozuna
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:19 AM) This year I cannot recall Pablo screwing up more than 1 or 2 times. Honestly Pablo has been the biggest catalyst for the team. We can say "Sure, he is facing lefties and that helps him...", but look at the lefties he is sent in to hit against. Santana, Sabathia, probably Randy Johnson when they play NY. Pablo hits great lefties very well, and that shouldnt be overlooked. He bunts well, he has been stealing bases, and everywhere Ozzie has put him this year defensively he has been adequate. Aside from the KC game earlier this year, Pablo has held his own in left. He still has a messed up approach to left field, but his instincts are shortstop instincts all the way. LOL, when he made that diving catch yesterday he looked like he was diving onto the infield grass trying to catch a pop-bunt. I have become a huge Pablo fan this year. I'm happy to say that I've been a huge Pablo fan since he came to the Sox. Man, I just love to watch him play. It seems like he just knows exactly what he's capable of, and he doesn't try to do too much. And it does seem like Pablo is getting a little better out in LF. And who knows, maybe he can actually become decent at the position if he gets more starts out there? One more thing. Wasn't Ozuna a pretty high prospect for the Cardinals before they realized he was older than he said?

Buehrle pitches over the leadoff double, but everything was smoked.

A little late, but is Iguchi's head not in this game? He didn't take 1st when he was walked, and he tried to turn the double play with 2 outs.

AL Central Central
The Rogers' play was great. There's no denying that. But all bias aside, Iguchi's play blows it right out of the water.

David Riske
QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 11:17 AM) Actually, after the surprise wore off of me...this is a DAMN fine deal. Wow, way to pull the trigger Kenny. No doubt. Thank you, Javier Lopez. That guy really paid off. Like someone already said, KW pulled a guy off the scrap heap, made him seem desirable, and got us a damn fine reliever for him. I just hope his back (thanks, Felix) isn't in a condition where it will linger.

David Riske
I'm excited as hell about this trade. Either way, we weren't going to use Lopez. But, does anyone know what kind of injury he had this year? And does he have a history with injuries?
-
David Riske
He's only had 9.2 IP, was he hurt or something?
-
David Riske
Qué? Just looked up his stats, and they're pretty good. If this is true, I like it.

Pitch a gem, and maybe hit a Ranger if the time is right, Buehrle.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 10:42 PM) Outside of the ring you didn't f*** with Meng (Haku.) IIRC, before he wrestle, he was hired to collect money from the deadbeats from wherever he was from. I read recently that someone, maybe Hogan, said he was the toughest guy he's ever met. EDIT: Bret Hart might have said it.

OFFICIAL GO CUBBIES THIS WEEKEND THREAD!!!
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 06:44 PM) What happened to all the people who always told other Sox fans to root for "our division" when the Twins were in the playoffs? According to their logic, we should be rooting for the Tigers right now. As Rowand said, that is completely different. We're still fighting for a playoff spot, and every single loss for the Tigers helps the Sox out. When the Twins were in the playoffs, we were already done. I mean, I really have no clue how you can compare the two.

Did I miss it?
I hate Showalter more each and every time we play him. He's one guy I wouldn't mind seeing a laser foulball smash in the face.
-
Did I miss it?
Anyone think Buehrle retaliates late in tomorrow's game? I think if one of our starters would do it, it's him. Oh, and we certainly can't let s*** like this happen to AJ over and over. We should hit someone tomorrow, clear the benches, and Thome tears their dickhead manager's head off.

Welp, might as well bend over and take it.

Sox @ Rangers, June 14
How long would a pitcher be suspended if he drilled a Ranger? And can we afford to have Thornton bean someone?

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:26 PM) There's a lot of little kids watching this game right now, many who play little league, and while retaliation may be in order, I agree with you, Hawk needs to tone it down. Talking about going after one of their better players, or meeting him outside the clubhouse is irresponsible. I forgot that he said that. I usually like Hawk's homerism (besides the "stretch" calls), but this is not cool. I hope he's told never to do this again.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:23 PM) That's your opinion. He's stating his opinion, based on having stood in the batters box and probably having a better understanding of what's going on between the lines than any of us. DJ agrees with him on this, for what that's worth. Yes, but he's talking about hitting their best player and lining balls back off of Padilla's knees. He shouldn't be saying that during a broadcast.

Sox @ Rangers, June 14
Padilla's good, but he's not this good.
