  1. Mark Buehrle is f***ing awesome. I hope he's out of the game now, though.
  2. I thought Vlad had great range? Maybe he was shading or something.
  3. Yay Red Sox, nothing like causing all 3 outs of the inning, huh?
  4. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) That ARod guy can hit If he does well on such a national spotlight such as the ASG, he might get the name recognition that has eluded him so.
  5. Pujols is on the Cards, Mark is a Cards fan, he let Pujols get the hit because he knew he'd K his hated Cub foe.
  6. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS He K'd DLee!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Did anyone catch that? Buck didn't know how to pronounce Buehrle's name. He said, "Buh-early."
  8. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 07:39 PM) Fox is certainly NOT going to like Buehrle's fast pace. thats two innings and two commercials Are you kidding me? They're gonna change balls after every pitch, and the ump is gonna stroll to the foul line, and lob him the balls. Plus, I'm sure they'll have every hitter call time about 4 times an at-bat.
  9. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) *Yawn* Start the damn game. The longer we idiots watch this, the more money for them. They're smart
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 05:57 PM) I will stop believing they have all stopped juicing when MLB comes up with a way to test for HGH, and when the penalties are stiffer than 10 days. I was looking for a smiley that was giving the thumbs up, but I guess there isn't one. How about this: *pistol wink*
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) Who the f*** was yelling toward the end of the moment of silence. You talk about classless. It's Detroit
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) I dare you to find me a better swing in baseball. Apparently Bobby Abreu's. Seriously, though. Pujols is a freakin' saint.
  13. Wow, they left Kenny Rogers out there to dry. Instead of cutting off all the boos and saying the next guy's name, they gave the crowd a good 15-20 seconds to boo him.
  14. Damn, how tall is Joe Nathan? I thought Santana was tall, but Nathan had like 8 inches on him.
  15. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) Maybe look a little deeper than the 1-3 record? By the way, one win is more wins than the White Sox have had in the postseason in almost 12 years. In 2001, he had a 3.18 ERA in the ALDS, 7.20 in the ALCS, and 1.42 in the WS. In 2002, he had a 2.84 ERA in the ALDS. In the 2004 ALCS, he had a 5.40 ERA. That's pretty inconsistent still.
  16. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 06:38 PM) Ozuna is just as capable of coming in and reeking havoc on the base paths. He can also play 3rd BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  17. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) El Duque is aging quickly. His batting average against this year is almost .300. He does have a 9-3 career post season record. However, he is 1-3 since 2001. Expecting him to be the savior this postseason would not be wise IMHO. This is not the Orlando Hernandez of 1998. His shoulder is beat up. Cunning and guile can only get you so far when you can't spot your pitches. Wow, that stat from 2001 on really sucks. Why the f*** did we get him to help us in the postseason when he hasn't been good in the postseason for 4 years? Seriously, what the f***? That just pisses me off.
  18. QUOTE(TheDybber @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) Yes, but from what I heard, she cheated on him. That makes more sense. When I first heard it, I wasn't very happy.
  19. QUOTE(TheHammer @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) He didn't have more endurance than anyone else he just hit more HRs. He showed much more skill than anyone ever. His HRs decreased in later rounds like would be expected. Just because he hit more it doesn't mean he was showing more stamina, that is a false assumption. No one else ever had a chance to take that many swings, so how do you know . Is Wade Boggs a steroid user? I think there is a good chance he would hold every HR derby record if he ever had a chance to be in it. Why? Because hitting BP fastballs out of the park is a skill that one can have without being a great HR hitter. Abreu is a HOF talent with the bat and it does not surprise me that he is so good at hitting 65 mph pitches out of the park. A "body with a lot of power" is not a sign of steroid use. A body with a lot of muscle mass could be. And his face was about as chubby as his stomach. There were no signs of steroid use with Abreu because he doesn't take them. There is particularly ridiculous when players are now being tested and it is clear that a lot of guys who used to be taking them aren't. Abreu isn't stupid, he wouldn't still be taking them. His power hasn't gone anywhere. It is his ability to make contact that seems to be missing. Being a solid piece of muscle is about as weak as you can get for a steroid user argument because you can easily get that from have low body fat and lifting weights. Where is his chubby face anyway? Where the acne craters? He shows no signs of steroid use, so get off it, you obviously are just speculating based on some very weak evidence. And if you are saying they are just your suspicions then keep them as that. Don't make comments like "stick the needle back in your ass Rowand" when he strikes out. Sounds like something a Cub fan might say, but then again I have more respect for Woo Woo than I do for a guy who says things like that. We're pretty much both making assumptions here. Arguing about it will get us nowhere. I supplied reasons for my thinking, you supplied reasons for yours. That's as far as we're going to get. To your last paragraph, I'll say whatever I please. You'll say whatever you please. Don't tell me what not to say. Plus, I could care less how much you respect me. I've never talked to you before, nor have I met you.
  20. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) I just agreed with ya. You said one thing, yet took another shot. If you knew 1/10th of the personal issues that have happened in his life you would be ashamed of yourself for even thinking it. I'm probably over-reacting.. but I don't care. Alright, I just thought you were taking a shot at me. Misunderstanding. I'm just putting this in general terms. If a player has a sudden drop-off in power numbers, especially after they implement a steroid policy, it should usually draw suspicion. In Rowand's case, you know better personally. So, there's an explanation. Just in general, there's cause for suspicion.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 04:29 PM) Milkman you keep going on about McGuires swing, well to be honest he could hit those HR's b4 he was roided, unlike Sosa and Canseco.... He would of been an awesome HR hitter even without the roids. 500 home run club awesome?
  22. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) Thankfully those that count know why. Douche... I'll agree with ya, that fits. Uncalled for? I took your word on Rowand. I'm just saying there is a reason to be suspicious when that type of thing happens.
  23. QUOTE(AirScott @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) I've lost track, but "the results of lifting steroid-free for 2 hours could be acheived after 1 with steroids." but roid-free Abreu works out longer, thus giving him more stamina than roid-chocked Sammy Sosa, who works out less but gains more muscle. I understand everything but that last part. By working out more with steroids than a person who is also on steroids, the result should be more muscle for the person working out more.
