  1. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) why do I hate David Ortiz so much? I really don't know but I don't like the guy. I gues I just refuse to believe he's a great player for some reason. Still, insulting they told Pujols they wanted Ortiz instead. Albert is a superior player Is it because Ortiz shows off more than any other baseball player in history when he homers? That guy really needs a fastball in his earhole. Nobody should be allowed to watch a ball like that. As Andruw Jones chokes, f***! I hate Pudge. And this kids are f***ing stupid. YOU DON'T TOUCH THE BALLS THAT ARE ALMOST OVER THE FENCE!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Well, that wasn't too bad. 17 and he still hit 7 less than Abreu. Damn it, that is unreal. Pleeeeeeeeease get at least 8, Andruw!
  3. What Joe Morgan is saying right now about the Red Sox fans not giving up is complete bulls***. More than half of the fans in game 3 left in the 5th inning and there were signs saying "I can't BELIEVE I fell for it again."
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) The nation of Curacao will never forgive this insult! Where is Curacao again? If you're honestly asking, I think it's near Venezuala. I'm really not sure, though, and I'm pretty sure you were just kidding. So I'll just shut up now.
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) I'll admit I only have the ESPN.com live thingy on my computer so I can't tell if something screwed up, but don't both Ortiz and Jones still have the chance to pass Pudge? Oh, good call. I keep forgetting about Jones. I've honestly forgotten he's in the thing about 10 times. Going through the countries in my head, always forgetting Curacao.
  6. Crap. Way to go, Teixeira...now Pudge gets to move on to the next round. I hate that guy.
  7. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) I feel sorry for Bay. Getting a bunch of s*** from people. That's what he gets for being from Canada. Here come two jokes. It's weird seeing CLee watch a homer while standing at the plate, he never did that. And you'd almost think Kerry Wood was throwing these balls to him. Anyone see that kid try to rob the homer? One kid tried to do it twice when the game was in Chicago. Are they retarded?
  8. Hahaha, had to get my two cents in. Abreu really put on an f'n show. He must know he has no chance to win this thing anymore, though. He had to have burned himself out. And screw you, Canada. Loser ass country can't even produce a homerun.
  9. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 07:00 PM) Jul 11 The Devil Rays are expected to sign Joe Borowski on Monday, which could indicate that trade talks involving Baez are heating up, the Tampa Tribune reports. ^per Rotowire He's definately had his struggles but it also doesnt help if you play on the D-Rays Here are his stats W-L ERA K Walks Saves 5-2 2.68 28 20 13 *Cracks knuckles* Yeeeeeep, I'm good. Really, if he's had his troubles but somehow has a 2.68 ERA, that's great.
  10. According to ESPNEWS, the D-Rays just picked up Joe Borowski. I'm probably reading into this too much, but could it possibly mean that Danys Baez is getting traded soon? I'd take him.
  11. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) Have you guys ever heard of this? Apparently there might have been an oversight in the design of the Twinkiedome... Oversight my ass! They're Nazis, I knew I hated them for good reason.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) What is benchwarmerjim's opinion of this????
  13. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) Yeah, thanks... Sorry, I'll edit that out for people who haven't seen it yet. A little late for you though. Again, sorry.
  14. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) i hate hollywood. every movie just follows a fad. Superhero movies suck. So do thrillers that try to hard to have a shocking ending (just saw hide and seek on DVD ugh) Hide and seek was awful. I thought to myself, "A scary movie with Robert DeNiro...that has to be good." I went with a few of my friends and we figured out who the bad guy was about 20 minutes into it. We both agreed that it was the biggest disappointment of the year.
  15. I agree with everything except for Saw. That movie f***ing sucked. No other words to describe it. That movie was built around trying to make a "twist" ending (like M. Night Shyamalan's flops, excluding Sixth Sense), and it failed. Ooh, it might be the doctor...ooh, it could be Danny Glover (who really had no point in this movie, unfortunately)...ooh, it might be the nurse. Or, it might be the guy who's in the movie for three tenths of a second (that's a little too Scream 2 for me). Plus, the acting was terrible and this is coming from a guy that really doesn't recognize good or bad acting.
  16. QUOTE(Balance @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) Francona shouldn't play him unless he's used up every other pitcher. Maybe not even then. Make one of the Twins or A's all-star position players throw a couple innings before Rogers pitches.... The Twins and A's don't have any all-star position players
  17. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) GAHHHHH Im not happy about this one bit Ha, I don't blame you one bit. I don't think anybody in their right mind would blame you. This kind of makes me giddy. It almost seems like a desperation move...
  18. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) Boone was traded today to the Twins for a player to be named later. Really? Does that mean the Twins are paying his contract? I like this if they are. He's worthless and he'll probably hurt them.
  19. QUOTE(the People's Champ @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) damn, I was hoping it would be kinda obvious. I was going for "robbin" as in robbing or stealing, since he steals a lot of bases. I thought it was a bit clever Speaking of a "Batman" nickname, I have an awesome poster in my dorm of Tony Gwynn that uses that name. Check it out: http://www.sportsposterwarehouse.com/wareh.../gwynnsix95.htm
  20. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 01:56 PM) MLB's archive of AJ's HRs with Hawk's call: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...layer_id=150229 Very useful. Thanks
  21. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) I love Frarl Thomerett! I prefer Crank Evermas.
  22. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 01:45 PM) "That ball is hit deep! Way back! Get up! STRECTH! It will! You can put it on the BOARD! YEEEEEEEEEEES! AJ Pierzynski with the walk-off 3 run bomb! Holy moly! MERCY!" I honestly just got chills reading that. I could hear it in Hawk's voice. Is that exactly what he said?
  23. Has to be AJ's walkoff. It just has to be.
  24. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) PK gets so many f***ing RBI chances it's insane. He hits like f***ing .222 w/ RISP that's a joke! His RBI total is highly overrated due to the chances he gets. I emphasized that part in my previous post. A good cleanup hitter might have around 75 RBI right now with those two ahead of him.
  25. QUOTE(the People's Champ @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) Except, the last time I checked PK still led the team in HR's, RBI, and Runs scored, despite the s***ty BA Maybe we should all get on Pods' case cause its his job as a leadoff hitter to score the runs. PK should have more RBI than he does. Pods and Iguchi might be the best 1-2 punch in the AL, but they're left stranded out there by none other than Konerko. Konerko scores so many runs because he hits so many solo homers. The only other times Konerko gets on base is when he walks, and the hitters behind him (Dye, Everett) do a good job of getting him in. The fact that Konerko is so terrible with RISP and that he's scored so many runs leads me to believe that Dye and Everett would be much better in the cleanup spot. Here's how it works to explain it better: Pods and/or Iguchi get on base, Konerko K's, GIDP, or pops up. Nobody gets on base, Konerko hits a homer. Nobody gets on base, Konerko walks and the batters behind him in the order get him in.
