Would the Nationals have any idea what KW would do with Day? I'm sure they've also heard the rumors about the Sox going after Burnett, so they'd probably assume that the Sox would be sending Day to Florida. That might be bad for them, since Florida is in their division. But it also might take Burnett out of their division. I dunno, I'm just =analyzing this thing way too much.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 03:36 AM) I think Willie would be a great #9 hitter. He would be able to get on base in front of Podsenick and those 2 would create havoc on the basepaths... that being said as much of a Willie fan I am Iguchi is 2 important to this team for Willie to play. We already have a guy on the team that fits that description much better. Pablo Ozuna is so much better than Harris, it's ridiculous. The only thing Willie has on Pablo is that he's a lefty. Now I'd rather keep Harris over Timo, but I won't shed a tear for either when, not if, one of them is gone.

QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) I believe that the Day trade would be a trade that KW will make to help satisfy SF's interest in two ML ready SPs for Schmidt. But, that saying... If Day pitches well for the Sox, KW might not deal him. I agree for the most part. I think it's almost certain that he'd turn around and trade him, though he just might keep him.

It's funny to read this thread from beginning to end. It went from the whole first page of people saying, "No way, this is a terrible idea," to people liking the trade. I'm all for the trade. I'd prefer to package Day with someone else and make a bigger trade, but I also wouldn't mind keeping him as a swingman or 5th starter.

Harris thinks he should play everyday.

Harris probably couldn't have done worse tonight if he tried. Really, he couldn't. He can take his sorry ass and supposed bad clubhouse demeanor and get the f*** off this team. He can blow me. Sorry, WHarris. -

Politte pitched an inning, therefore we'll score at least 3 runs this inning and he'll get the win. -

After that hit, I have the feeling we aren't winning this game. -

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 06:16 PM) you cant always put him in every game, hes a big guy and they wear down very easily, hes no spod who is very durable Since you changed your handle, maybe you should also change your sig. It still says chi-guy2. Let's score a lot or runs and give very little up. We should win if we do that. -

QUOTE(Benson&Rexage @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) Any one going to the game tonight want to meet for some beers after the game in The bull pen. I got some budies comming up from school (Ball State). We are 1-0 this year with the Ball State Crew. I only have one thing to say to you: Everybody's got a price. -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 05:13 PM) Any idea where you "Heard" this at? Millar's another one of those guys who's numbers have taken a severe hit this year compared to last. Season G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS 2004 150 508 74 151 36 0 18 74 57 91 1 1 .297 .383 .474 .857 2005 72 249 28 68 13 1 4 32 25 35 0 0 .273 .351 .382 .733 You know...looking at his numbers, I can't find anything that tells me he's gotten less playing time than last year...we're barely over 1/2 way through the season, and he's 5 at bats away from having 1/2 of his at bats from last year. His slugging is also way down this year...less power, lower average, and it seems to be stuck that way. I wouldn't be surprised if Olerud took more of his playing time the 2nd half. That whole team was on steroids last year. It's no surprise to see any of their numbers suffer this year. And now we see the loss of the ever-talked-about chemistry that the Red Sox had last year. Millar wanting to be traded, Payton gone, and Damon claiming that a bunch of teammates are unhappy that Schilling will be closing.

I still think it's no good to talk about a sweep before the series starts. Oh well, RIP EM!!!!!!!!!!!! -
What about AJ Burnett = Carl Pavano?
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That about sums it up.

I got my hopes up too far for Schmidt, so I'm not even gonna consider this one until it goes through. I'll be ecstatic if it happens, but my hopes won't be getting high for this one.

Who's this mysterious LH OF?

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) Have you seen him pitch recently?? If so what did you think of his stuff? I saw his last start where he got bombed but I was impressed with his stuff, imo you'll see him really start to improve here in the next few weeks. I know Matheny is supposed to be a great defensive catcher, but how is he at calling a game? And who was the catcher before AJ in SF?

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) Its one of those grinderball commercials with the guy from 'That 70's Show'...and in addition to mentioning 'wetting themselves', he recommends chanting 'Go Go Go' everytime Pods gets on base...something they did in 1959 when they were the 'Go-Go Sox' Which guy from That 70's Show?

Is there a way to stuff this ballot? This must be much easier than the MLB system.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) At Cold Pizza on ESPN. They are all outraged that Derek "the face of baseball" Jeter didn't make the All-Star Game. Woody Paige is a dumbass and didn't know who Scotty was and didn't even know that he was owning everyone in the MLB in stolen bases. Dana Jacobson is an ugly b**** who was whining about Jeter not making it, and only one guy defended Scott. Who did the defending?

We all saw how worthless Konerko was without Thomas around. We sign Konerko to a big deal, he'll hurt our financial flexibilty with his one-dimensional play. Sure we'll have Thomas next year probably, but after that he might just retire. Then Konerko goes back to his .220, solo-homer hitting self.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 02:41 AM) It runs smooth as can be and we don't see any bugs thus far. If there are any pop ups or it is running slow let us know. We have added team logos this update and the next one will be players pictures. We still need two more people and if knight or farmteam would like to help us out with one of the spots it would be appreciated. Hopefully to a long lasting league. Wow, this one works much better. You really are the man. Now go enjoy Austin Kearns.
