  1. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 11:25 PM) Dude he was fighting back tears. And if Jeter won it would have lead off the show. Of course he used the Matusi/Jeter spilit excuse. Why was that a non issue won Matsui won over the PK/Frank split? The vote didn't get split at all. All Yankee fans voted for Jeter and all Japanese fans voted for Matsui, simple as that. They had to find some kind of excuse for Jeter not getting there.
  2. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) Gammons reported tonight that the Sox are pushing to acquire Everyday Eddie Guardado. I saw that and immediately changed my pants. Gammons is a fool, no doubt, but he's usually good with the rumors, right? His baseball smarts don't seem to exist, though.
  3. HAHAHAHAHA, a person on the Yankees' MLB board thinks there was a conspiracy against Jeter since they didn't release the vote totals. That is great.
  4. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 09:36 PM) Not since Buehrle > Wood has a name been so true. AHEM
  5. HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't forget the Twins and Indians both lost. Contreras was solid. Great offense. Scoreless inning with 2 K's for Jenks. This is just a perfect day. Perfect, I say.
  6. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I already love that kid.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) I know this isn't probably the first thing that is of concern, but if Jenks was to come up and show great stuff/ability....he could be a very valuable trading piece. A lot of teams would be interested in a potential closer like Jenks. Lets just hope he does good. It's been a long path for him. I think we'd be trading Vizcaino or something and replacing him with Jenks if he succeeds.
  8. Sweeeeeet, I thought Shingo was gonna ruin our chance to see Jenks by letting the game get too close. He got out of it, and it's almost time to see what we got in that kid. Wow, I'm really excited to see this.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) I can't wait until Francona needs a pinch runner...Everyone will know who it will be, and everyone will know exactly what's going to happen. And since I-Rod is in the AL...there won't be a damn thing anyone can do to stop it. How's LoDuca's arm? I know Piazza has a puss arm, but he's starting and won't be in the game that late.
  10. Anybody else here the jagoff in the background? "That's a pop-up! That's a pop-up! Haha, pop-up!"
  11. Now that stretch call pissed me off. Well, as pissed off as I can be right now...which isn't much.
  12. Well, Ozzie's pulling Contreras after the leadoff single. I think he's finally making the right move with the pen. World coming to an end?
  13. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) Bear down crew: I believe we will have ourselves the first of many Jenks sightings. He's gonna be in. I just feel it. ...literally, my house is shaking. Cotts was up in the pen, though. So, will he come in for the 8th or 9th?
  14. Seriously, I'm like floating on air right now. So many things seem to be just perfect. Great feeling...
  15. I know Dye is gonna screw up after I say this, but I really like the way the offense looks without PK in there and with Dye, Thomas, and Everett in it.
  16. Just get out of the inning without giving up any more, Count. That's all you have to do.
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) Please stop saying ''stretch'' hawk, please. I really hate that call, but it wasn't so bad just now because of the lead. Like Rowand said, we'll probably get to see Jenks. This is shaping up to be one of those perfect days. Just, wow.
  18. Whoa, I thought there was already 47 pages about Pods being an all-star. I didn't occur to me that someone changed the thread name. Everyone should give themselves a big pat on the back, especially those of you that put in hours upon hours of time. Pods is definitely where he belongs. And from all of us Sox fans, a big "f*** you" goes out to Steve Phillips. Aww, Jeter will always be on your all-star team. That's so cute. I'm sure Derek appreciates it. That will comfort him when he's crying in his sleep tonight.
  19. Contreras better man the hell up and keep this lead. Nice job, offense.
  20. Haha, Cantu is a terrible 3B and Gathwright finally got burned for playing back so far.
  21. Man, I love Gooch. That is, the second basman...Tadahito Iguchi. And in the most heterosexual way. 1-1.
  22. Line shot single for the all-star. Let's get some runs now!
