QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) Doesnt matter what he did then, its what he does NOW, and what he has now is a 1.41 in a hitters park. If you want to sit back and make sure we have some question mark minor leaguers for the next few years, thats you, I for one, would sell the barons for a WS title. Our minor leaguers dont exactly have the best track record coming up anyway, who says they are worth jack s***? Our top prospect just came up and tanked, the track record speaks the trend is that. So you wouldnt trade some serious question marks for the best pitcher in the NL? Thats honestly sad, I want to win now, and this is the team to do it, is there anyone else who wants a WS title? We know from the 85 bears that we can live on it for at least 20 years if not more. The main problem is that Clemens won't come here. He doesn't want to play on the Sox, period.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) I actually agree with milkman here. I'd take Clemens don't get me wrong but I wouldn't give up the world for him. He was an above average pitcher his last 5 or so years in the american league but he wasn't special. I'd still love to have the guy but I wouldn't want to give up the farm for him but that's just me. Thank God. I thought I was alone in the world.

Holy testicular atrophy, Batman. I just realized that Ichiro has more homers than Pudge. Damn, the fact that that guy was on steroids is blatantly obvious. And they both play in cavernous parks, so there's not much of an excuse.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Players I know are in it so far: Canada - Bay Caracoa - Jones Panama - CLee DR - Ortiz Venezuela - Abreu Puerto Rico - Ivan Rodriguez US - Japan - And DLee turned down the invitation so the US spot is up for grabs. Teixiera, Konerko, G.Anderson. Are all possibilities. The Japanese particapant has yet to be announced. It will probably be Ichiro WHEN Matsui doesn't win the 32nd man voting. Palmeiro was in the derby last year when he wasn't an all-star. So, it doesn't necessarily mean Matsui won't be in the derby. f***ing Pudge? He has 5 homers. But I guess they have to cater to the hometown fans *ahem*FRANKTHOMAS*ahem* and put their guy out there. And it'll just be a mockery if both Pudge and Ichiro are in it. I'm sure it'll be very cute to watch it, especially since you can pretty much write off half the participants before it even starts.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) MLB.com I've been addicted to voting, gotta keep it rolling! Does anyone think it's possible that Pods will get more votes, but Jeter will still "win"? And when does voting end?
-
QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) You have your security settings too high. Allow it to accept cookies from mlb.com. Genius, that's about 20 more votes in half the time.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:21 PM) I was literally ROLFLMFAO. I was crying from laughter after watching that steroid freak blubber on National television. Crying like a little b**** and having his hair highlighted made me question his sexuality...not that there's anything wrong with that.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) No, it should stay filled in if you hit "vote again" Every time I press "vote again," it comes up blank. Oh well, I voted a good 30 times.

Do you actually have to keep putting in your email, zip code, and birth date every time you vote?

QUOTE(wilmot825 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) I was just wondering how long the Herm will be out of comision? I understand he is or had a death in the family but I am curious when he will make his return to the South Side? FOR-EV-ER, FOR-EV-ER

I'll be the Reds.

QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) Adam Dunn joke of the week. "Dunn is so poor with LHPs, that, he couldn't hit a HR off a lefty pitching coach in the home run derby." Dunn is so bad against LHP, he couldn't hit off of Kevin Walker!!!!!!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA But seriously folks, Walker sucks.
-
Wow, I just read that Brewer site. Those fans are assholes. It's safe to say I'll never be rooting for them again.
-
Nobody's saying he sucks. My point is that the AL knows him well enough to hit him for around a 3.something to 4.something ERA. That's damn good, but it sure as hell ain't worth the price tag. He'd cost us over 10 million for about 3 months, plus a ton of prospects. He didn't magically get better after he left NY. He went to a place where the majority of teams and players weren't familiar with him.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 11:41 AM) that was then, this is now, and he has a 1.41 ERA. Yeah, and I bet it's mainly due to being in the NL now.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) Roughed up you say?? So, lets add a run onto his ERA to compensate for the huge bats he will face in the AL. SO we go from 1.41 to 2.41. Wait, he would still have the best ERA on our staff. The last two years he spent in the AL his ERA's were 3.91 and 4.35. That's not worth the 14 million we'll have to give him plus the prospects that we'd lose.
-
Clemens isn't coming here. There's not even a chance. The chance that he comes to the south side of Chicago is rough -24.47%. Yes, it's negative. And besides, I think Clemens is gonna get roughed up back in the AL.

QUOTE(quickman @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 10:34 AM) Well I hope KW doesn't showcase anymore of our minor leaguers beause they suck. Let them scout them in Double or triple A. Exactly. Every time we bring some AAA pitcher up, he sucks out loud and he soon has no more trade value. I have a question. What will everyone here do if Baj comes up and falls flat on his face? -
QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 07:35 AM) Bottom line appears to be they're looking to add a starter and in my opinion, it's just a matter of when it will happen. I bet KW grabs a guy that none of us knew was on the market. Hopefully, that guy is actually good.
