  1. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) How come the flag-ship station in SF are in saying this is pretty much a done deal, and both of our stations aren't saying that? Because KW's not letting anything leak from his side?
  2. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) I hope your right. He has a good point with the whole Bonds situation. If the flagship station for the Giants is saying this is almost a done-deal, I see no reason to listen to someone with absolutely no say in this.
  3. For some reason I can't read the whole 7th page of this thread. Anything new on it?
  4. QUOTE(Wealz @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) Coppock reiterated on his show on Sporting News Radio about a half hour ago that the deal is very close. He said he talked to two Sox executives today. One he said told him he believed the deal had already been consumated. They had sex to seal the deal? Did you mean that to be a question or just a joke?
  5. If we can figure out how to stuff the ballots or what have you, Yankees fans will figure it out, too. Face it, there's just no way for Pods to win this. Don't fool yourselves. Besides, it's just not worth it. It's a meaningless game and you'd just be wasting your time.
  6. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) Maybe they know something that we don't. Like Jose Contreras actually means Jason Schmidt?
  7. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) Damn. Never thought I'd be this much against adding Jason Schmidt, but he's really pitched poorly. I have no idea why K-dub would even consider this, unless he wants to dump Jose's salary for next year. I'm gonna guess that KW knows a little more than we do.
  8. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) .290BA 2HR 23RBI = Starter .321BA 14HR 48RBI = Reserve MLB really needs to make adjustments on the voting process. What two guys are you referring to?
  9. QUOTE(Yoda @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) Derrek Lee officially starting in 1st base It's on the website that someone posted. I'm getting f***ing tired of Piazza, he's not even a good baseball anymore. Then consider he's the worst catcher in baseball, there's no reason for this guy to be within 1,000 miles of the ASG. AND HE'S STARTING! That's insane. He's probably a nice guy and all, but f*** him.
  10. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 05:55 PM) It's by country. Well that's f***ing stupid. This thing becomes a bigger sham every year somehow.
  11. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Not over Lee. Both Lees are in the NL. What do you mean?
  12. Since Konerko's in, will he also be in the homerun derby?
  13. Halladay, and it's not even close. His stats are much better than everyone else's.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 05:35 PM) One thing that our big hitters (Thomas, PK) have to do better is make contact when there's a runner on 3rd, and less than 2 outs. We've been striking out way too much in those situations lately. Considering that our offense basically sucked on this road trip, 4-2 should be considered extremely lucky. And the two games we lost were because of s*** pitching. It just proves that this team is built entirely on pitching. We don't pitch, we don't win.
  15. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) What's his era after the rock job that San Diego gave him today? He'd get shelled in the Cell. You went from agreeing that he's better than Duque, McCarthy, and probably Contreras to this.
  16. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 05:18 PM) Not with his option for next year, not gonna happen. Most of this hype on both Chavez and Schmidt is Chicago media created bulls***. There's rumors in SF, too. And the Sox scouts have been looking at him for a while now.
  17. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) No kidding, but he is not a realistic option for the reasons I stated. Since the Sox are scouting him considerably, he's very realistic.
  18. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 05:09 PM) Schmidt has been getting rocked all year. He's always had arm problems. He's been hurt already this year. He has like a 10.5 million dollar option for next season. Explain to me why we want him again. He's better than Duque and McCarthy, and quite possibly better than Contreras.
  19. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) We don't need another pitcher. We lose a few games to the hottest team over the past month and you're calling for a guy with chronic arm problems and a huge option for next season. We will use 3 starters in the playoffs, possibly 4 in a long series. We don't need Schmidt. I've been wanting another starter for a while now. But you're right, I just wanted one since Friday. Buehrle isn't a good pitcher.
  20. QUOTE(Yoda @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 05:03 PM) Schmidt just got rocked against the Padres. I don't care, he's still better than Duque and McCarthy. And Eyre would look great in our pen.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) Oh there is a silver lining, you what it is it?? We don't have to play in Oakland anymore this year. That's a little better, but I'm still really pissed. I'm sure they'll get no-hit the rest of the game, perhaps one hit and/or a walk.
  22. And Vizcaino still sucks. I hate these games where there's absolutely no silver lining. Viz has to go soon, we can't have such a terrible pitcher on our team when we're still not sure how Shingo will be. Perhaps if we get Schmidt, we can get Eyre with him.
  23. God, I just wish Tampa would've not rolled over and taken at least one game from the Twins. That makes these two losses seem even worse, as if they possibly could be.
  24. I suggest we stop playing games in Oakland. We should just forfeit all the games there, and forget about the one possible win me may get. The rest would be a lot better than maybe one win and the pure frustration that comes with playing there.
