  1. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) He's still better than virtually any #4 starter you're going to find. He's having a bad month. The guy's ERA was 3.13 after his first June start. We're really splitting hairs if we're that worried about the back end of our staff considering how well our top 3 are doing and how far in front in the division we are. I think he's worried that Contreras will come back down to Earth and put up his regular numbers. Numbers like 5.something ERA, 1.6 WHIP, etc.
  2. Does anyone else hate Jose Contreras? I mean, I root for the guy because he pitches for the Sox, but I absolutely hate that guy. I can't stand him at all.
  3. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 10:52 PM) I'm sorry, but Jose Contreras is completely useless to a division leading team like the Sox. There is NO excuse for the number of walks and wild pitches this cockgobbler has. Exactly. I'm now pretty confident that KW is going to pull the trigger sooner than the deadline. I get the feeling that nobody on the Sox really like Contreras. It's easy to tell that Hawk and DJ are tired of him.
  4. f***KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
  5. f*** f*** f***in f*** f***ity f*** f*** s*** ass cock b**** f*** ^ How I feel right now.
  6. God, can we please get Contreras out of there after this inning? Another wild pitch, this is f***ing ridiculous. Line-out to Konerko, 1 down.
  7. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) Once again, the Sox will need to find a way to grind this out. Things tend to go against them out there in Oakland. The one thing I like is Ozzie had no one warming up last inning. It was as if to tell Contreras to man up. This is a pennant race, get your mind right. He's also let Contreras stay out there twice this year to take his beatings, which he deserved fully. I like that. Double for Crosby. I can't stand Contreras. :finger
  8. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) Ozuna's Dominican I believe -- ?? I thought he was Cuban, but I'm wrong. Looks like I hate all Cubans then.
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 09:53 AM) A lot of people said that McCarthy's start against the Tigers would be a big determining factor for KW in making a move, but I think this start is just as big. ^I meant this. Contreras has the best stuff of any pitcher around. If any person on this site had half the talent as him, they'd be an ace. If it weren't for Ozuna, I'd probably hate all Cubans
  10. We can't have Jose Contreras walking 6/7 guys and throwing 1 or 2 wild pitches a game. This guy has got to throw what AJ tells him to throw. For the life of me, I can't figure out how AJ hasn't punched him in the face yet. Now he hands them the tie game. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  11. KW better be ready to make a trade soon if the Count is hurt. f***, I'm so pissed.
  12. I can't like Contreras no matter what I do. 0 out, runners on 1st and 2nd. Son of a b****.
  13. This f***ing ump sucks. Leadoff walk is the last thing Contreras needs.
  14. If the offense can work the count well enough in the 5th, we may not see Harden for the 6th. But with Crede and Uribe coming up, that doesn't seem too likely. We first have to worry about the bottom of the 4th, though.
  15. Big inning for Contreras. Big inning for me, too, because my head will explode if he screws up and I can't vent. Pitch counts for both pitchers?
  16. Thank God. Contreras' pitch count must be about the same as Harden's now. I don't understand how he can look so good one inning and then so bad the next. He'd give any Sox fan an ulcer.
  17. Contreras walks the bases loaded. I wish he would work fast like he did earlier in the year, but I swear to God the guy has no brain.
  18. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) Uribe's swing is like Happy Gilmore's golf swing. But I don't care cause he plays a hell of a shortstop. He's no Omar Vizquel, but I'll take him. Contreras...
  19. Ahh, damn it. This is the type of thing that pisses me off. We make him work the first inning, then we let him off the hook in the second. I hope they get back to working him in the third.
  20. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) The Oakland fans seemingly hate Dye. I don't know why... I realize he wasn't great, but was he known as a guy who 'dogged' it or something? Great first inning. I think they hate him because he was hurt like 75% of the time.
  21. Cora gives me a heart attacks sometimes, but great job by Everett on the hit down the line there.
  22. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) Exactly. And now he's on. BTW, milkman I got your PM ... thank you, much appreciated. No problem. 1-0. Keep working the counts.
  23. No matter the result, this is a great AB by Pods.
