  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) And it could also be used to bash Walker in the head, thus rendering him unable to pitch. That's the way to think!
  2. Wow, we've had occasion to use three times since it became clickable. That was only 4 series ago. Time to take advantage.
  3. This is my official thank you to Freddy Garcia. Holy s***, did you ever step it up today and save us from big trouble after last night's game. We raped Seattle in that trade.
  4. So anyone know how many times Widger has caught Garcia?
  5. Has Widger caught Garcia this year. I'm just thinking that if Garcia has a bad game, Widger should just be Buehrle's personal catcher basically. This is all hinging on how he's caught Freddy in the past though.
  6. 99% of baseball players are safe there. I swear Inge could've walked the ball across the field to 1st base.
  7. I've said this before, but here it goes again. Iguchi should lead off when Pods has the day off.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) >> To educate the masses. An inanimate carbon rod can save a space shuttle full of astronauts and be the employee of the month at a nuclear (pronounced nuke-you-ler) power plant. It could surely out pitch Kevin Walker.
  9. QUOTE(go-sox05 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) i think the home run derby should be all the guys who dont hit home runs alot. Scott Podesenik Chone Figgins Julio Lugo Johnny Damon Omar Vizqual David Eckstien you could win with like two. Damon hit 20 last year when he was on steroids.
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) Conor Jackson - The D-Backs are open to trading him. Why? Because long - term he projects to be a DH. He's not a good enough fielder to be an OF (even in a corner spot) and may not be for 1B either, especially when they already have Chad Tracy and Tony Clark. They would trade him for a quality pitching prospect like Brandon McCarthy. Something to consider. Why shoot so low? Didn't they just draft that Upton kid? I'm sure we could use Vizcaino to land him.
  11. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) nah, as mark buerhle can tell you, my guts suck. i'm basing this one on the science of meterology. Ha, your gut feeling would probably be more accurate than meteorology.
  12. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) this game ain't getting played http://www.weather.com/activities/other/ot...229&from=search Oh, you have a gut feeling about this one, too?
  13. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) i dunno it could be a possibility if he has one bad start Well, it's a good thing for Walker's sake that he doesn't start games, huh?
  14. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) The only mention of the Sox in this TWIB is AJ's walkoff against LA. Who cares about the Sox? We get to listen to Jim Belushi!!!!!!1!!11!
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) If you look at the radar it looks like the storm has made it 1/2 of the way through Detroit, with 1 more big yellow colored pulse left to go. So I think we're probably about 1 hour or so away from starting the game, give or take the storm slowing down and the ability of the Detroit grounds crew to clean the field up. Everything about Detroit sucks. They'll find a way to f*** that up.
  16. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) That's pretty good, but I'd still rather seen Walker punched in the face. Though I'll settle for kicked in the balls, shot in the face, or stabbed in the eye.
  17. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) thats what I remembered. just checking. I was so sure that it would be a top 10 play on BBTN, but it wasn't. Not that I really care, I just couldn't believe it didn't make the reel.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) Just remember, the only team the Tigers have to worry about in the AL Central race is Cleveland, right? The Detroit Tigers are just like the fat, ugly kid everyone knew growing up. They're cocky as all hell and think they're tough, but they have no reason to be and can't back it up.
  19. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) Kevin Walker = Can you make a picture of Walker getting punched in the face? I'd like to see something like that.
  20. QUOTE(quickman @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) and never will be You're so mean! Don't you know he posts here? You'll hurt his feelings.
  21. QUOTE(upnorthsox @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 11:41 AM) Yep it's not like Vizquel hasn't done that to us oh about 50 times over the yrs. He really sucks. Ha, anyone see this s***? All I say is that Vizquel wouldn't have made the play, but apparently it looked like "Omar Vizquel is a s***ty player, he sucks, and he should die." Honestly, people really twist your words a lot around here.
  22. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 11:42 AM) That's why I made sure to put it in the title. I guess I'm just out of it or something. Tired, bored, etc.
  23. QUOTE(VAfan @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) I'm not in Chicago so I didn't see the game. What was the play he made, and can you say for certain that Omar Vizquel couldn't have made the same play? It's my belief that in the postseason, a 8th or 9th place hitter that is going to get on base on average at least once more per game and who has much better speed is of real value, especially when you are splitting hairs about their defensive differences. No, Omar Vizquel would've dove for it and missed it by a good foot. Uribe is one of very few SS's that would have made that play.
  24. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) Whoa, the game is at noon?? Wow I didn't know that. Wow, everyone kept talking about a day game with Freddy pitching, and that didn't even register with me until just now. Great, now I'll have to watch half the game in the break room.
