  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) I'm sorry the ASG has been talked about way to much around here, I feel like some of you care about how many allstars we have more then winning games. I couldn't give two s***s about the ASG. I'm just putting the subject of the starter to rest. The answer is now clear.
  2. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) Buherle is so annoying, he hasn't been ace like all year. Always missing. 10 wins just isn't good enough for this point in the year. I'm so frustrated. He doesn't play well in Oakland, sort of like our entire team. There's nothing wrong with him at all.
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) Who the f*** gives a s***. I'm just saying it because it's true. Jeez, take it easy.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) What did Iguchi do? Scouting, scouting blew it. You understood what I meant.
  5. I turned it off. There's now no way Buehrle starts the ASG. After the way Halladay pitched in front of Francona and how Buehrle performed today, there's no chance he gets the nod. That's not a shot at Buehrle, either.
  6. DJ called that one. I have no faith in our offense to score again. Buehrle and Iguchi to an point blew this one.
  7. Wow, I've never seen Buehrle s*** his pants like this.
  8. f***ING UMPIRE! This is bulls***, pure f***ing bulls***. This isn't even fair.
  9. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) The 2-1 pitch was way low and the strikeout pitch was just nasty there wasn't much Frank could do. Just saying I knew it was coming. Now Konerko strands Ozuna on third. Our middle of the order guys are not good at situational hitting. Time for Buehrle to shut them down again, hopefully.
  10. I told my brother that Thomas would K as soon as he went 2-1. It seems all he can do is hit solo shots. Time for Konerko to be huge.
  11. Jesus Christ, Buehrle is throwing nothing but balls on the first pitch. EDIT: Nice DP by Iguchi.
  12. Great, great AB by Dye and he kills one to left center.
  13. He gets out of the inning, but he's still throwing too many balls. That level of comfort that you usually have during a Buehrle start just isn't there today. Hopefully that inning will get him into a groove. Let's score some more runs, just in case.
  14. I think Dye could've ran a little harder for that ball. I swear he was jogging.
  15. Gonna need a big inning from Buehrle. I'm not so sure we'll be scoring much more off of Zito and a scoreless inning would be huge. That bomb by Frank was enormous, and it wrapped around the pole nicely.
  16. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) He hasn't been very sharp, yet he only has 30 pitches. He should be fine. Let's hope so, but I'll be convinced when he gets sharp again. Dye looked slow again on that bloop, but a DP ends the inning.
  17. Buehrle's throwing way too many balls today. I won't be surprised if that starts to hurt him a lot. Widger with our first hit, but Crede and Ozuna looked awful and leave him there. Seriously, Ozuna is not a leadoff hitter.
  18. As I type this, Roy Halladay is taking a dump on the Red Sox. He's at about 90 pitches through 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits. Since Terry Francona has a front row seat to this, I'm all but convinced that Halladay is starting the ASG. I think that takes care of that controversy.
  19. QUOTE(ChiTownSOX67 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) I agree. BTW, I'm new to the forums, but I've been a die-hard Sox fan since 1989. Welcome to Soxtalk, home of the eternal optimists!
  20. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) /insert picture of Kyyle23 doing the happy dance with Ren and Stimpy this is good news indeed! My jaw just dropped. For all of the talking we've been doing about Schmidt, I never actually thought it would happen. It's not a done deal apparently, but in any case:
  21. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) He doesn't play a lot versus lefties. However, I don't mind because I'd love to have him fresh and still running down the stretch. That's true, but he's really gotten a lot of days off. I can't argue with keeping him fresh, though. I still believe that Iguchi should be leading off on days that Pods is off.
  22. Damn, I'm a little disappointed. I, like everyone on Earth, hate Bret Boone. From the title of this thread, I thought he was caught using steroids, though. That would've been sweet.
  23. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) Lineups posted for the game today: Chicago: Ozuna SS Iguchi 2B Thomas DH Konerko 1B Everett LF Dye RF Rowand CF Widger C Crede 3B Oakland: Kendall C Kotsay CF Crosby SS Chavez 3B Kielty RF Byrnes LF Swisher 1B Ginter DH Ellis 2B Man, Pods has really become a platoon player. It's like he doesn't even start 3 games in a row anymore.
