I'd much rather KW make the move way before the deadline. The longer he waits, the higher the price for anyone. I loved it last year when he got Garcia really early.

BMAC Back to AAA
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 28, 2005 -> 12:38 AM) Jabroni, you are right on here. I'm so sick of watching Crazy Carl swing through pitches down the middle. Although I'm not as big of a Gload fan as others on this board, he's got a knack for making contact with the ball and that is just what the doctor ordered for this offense. Not to mention that he's damn good defensively as well. Anyone else thinking that Gload is going to get the same pitches that Carl has been, except Gload is going to crush them? I'm thinking just that. Ross will go on a tear, you heard it hear first.

GAME THREAD 5-27-2005 SOX VS RANGERS
QUOTE(chisox2334 @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) what are you gonna do about it guys? all they can do is hit out of it. So lets see were winning with timely hitting meaning clutch to me so as long we get the "W" fine with me With even a decent offense, we'd probably have about 10 more wins. Every single win counds when we still have the Twins on our asses. They won't go away, I guarantee it. How many times in the past have we thought we had the Twins beat? Too many. We just don't want to accept a s***ty ass offense like this.

GAME THREAD 5-27-2005 SOX VS RANGERS
QUOTE(chisox2334 @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) Guys seriously what was ozzie plan before this season. if your lookin for big boppers come in and do it your wrong. Ozzie told ya we would win close games with pitching defense and timely hitting. I guess no one notice that. Ozzie's plan was to produce runs on a normal basis. We're still up and down quite a bit.

I've never given up on a game this early, but this one is over. I'm so sad to say this, too.

Star Wars Training
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ May 27, 2005 -> 11:01 AM) Hey, I just remembered, wasn't that Star Wars kid supposed to have been given some VERY minor cameo in the new film just to make up for all of teh abuse he had recieved? Maybe he was in a crowd scene? He played Darth Vader.

Frank to be back for next homestand?
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 27, 2005 -> 11:16 AM) Our current DH is hitting only .232 with a .292 OBP. How much worse could Frank be? Even if he doesn't hit well coming off of his injury, he will still draw a lot of walks. Agreed on that. I just don't expect Frank to solve this team's offensive problems, as I'm sure many people don't.
-
Frank to be back for next homestand?
Not to scare anyone, but what if Frank isn't his usual self when he returns? We all keep saying and thinking that he's going to make this offense much better, but what if he doesn't?

What do we need?
QUOTE(southsideirish @ May 27, 2005 -> 11:08 AM) I have a question. If we do acquire Chavez then what do we do with Josh Fields? I thought our organizations loved him? Trade him for a reliever. Wait, should that be in green?

Who is available?
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 27, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) The Milkman is a free agent and I'm pretty sure he could actually hit the damn ball unlike Cruddy. The more I think about it, we should have never traded him to Texas to make room for Crede. Imagine that, a team making room for Joe Crede. Ugh... :banghead

Only steers and queers come from Texas...and I don't see no horns. That is, of course, for mods that also happen to be Sox fans.

Who is available?
I don't want to seem like I'm giving up on the team, but I think it's clear that we need a change or two. I also know that there are other threads like this one, but I'm just asking a specific question. What guys can we realistically pry from another team or what guys are being shopped around that we should go after? Of course, I don't want some MVP baseball 2005 scenario. I'm wondering what we really can get. On a side note, I hope KW doesn't wait too long to make a move and does the same thing he did last year with Freddy Garcia.

Did Ozzie call the pitch to McPherson?
Let's at least take something good away from this game. Contreras has proven to be extremely solid this year. He's a different pitcher than he ever was in the ML. He's for real now.

Mike Lowell
QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ May 27, 2005 -> 07:12 AM) Ozzie has to be an expert on how good Lowell is, compared to Crede. If we got him, you could be sure that it was because Ozzie blessed the move. I'd go after Chavez, even if it meant (gulp) trading BMac. I hadn't thought about Ozzie's relationship with Lowell. That might be a huge factor. Anyone know our realistic chances of getting Todd Helton or Adam Dunn?

5/26 @ Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
Game Summary: It's broken, fix it!

5/26 @ Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
This is a well-deserved team loss. Contreras pitched well, except for one pitch. I'm not so sure he deserved the loss, though.

5/26 @ Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
That play by Ozuna looked great, but Kennedy must not have been running hard at all. Oh well, I'll take it. Let's get some runs, boys.

5/26 @ Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
QUOTE(fathom @ May 26, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) Rob Mackowiak would be a great fit for our team right now. You could have said just about anyone right there, and I would agree with you. Not many worse than Crede right now. And I don't wanna hear about how cheap he is. That doesn't make him better than anyone.

5/26 @ Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 26, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) Wow Crede is such a monsterous piece of trash. He's going to come around. Haven't you heard? Seriously, he's an automatic out and his defense is overrated. Gotta do something about that. OT: Why do they keep showing that Shingo commercial? I can't even remember the last time he pitched.

5/26 @ Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
QUOTE(fathom @ May 26, 2005 -> 10:11 PM) We're going to get blown out by the Rangers if our offense continues to suck this weekend. The Rangers are tearing the cover off the ball lately. Even Hidalgo is on fire now. Big difference between the Angels' starters and the Rangers' starters (besides Rogers).
