  1. QUOTE(PlunketChris @ Apr 20, 2007 -> 10:08 PM) There's ways around the copy protection stuff, you can put it on a DVD as a video to be watched on TV if you have the proper software.. then bring that copy back to the computer.. if it means that much.. or you can watch it on your computer.. either way, i downloaded it, now i carry the 05 world series, the commerative DVDs, and the Buehrle no-hitter all on my ipod.. some of those moments are real spirit lifters on bad days. I've got a strange buzzing sound coming out of the game I downloaded off of itunes. Does yours have that problem?
  2. last time erstad hit .300, so did jeffrey hammonds, david segui & travis fryman.
  3. OMG, we just signed a guy who posted a .750+ OPS..... ....in 2000!
  4. I think the numbers normally cited are from 6/11 on: 83 Games / 240 At Bats / .263 BA / .313 OBP / .408 Slug / .721 OPS I think that would be around a 90 OPS+, which is fine for one of the best defensive center fielders and a rookie to boot.
  5. 4/02 - 6/10: .152 BA / .250 OBP / .264 SLUG / .514 OPS 6/11 - 7/04: .234 BA / .321 OBP / .426 SLUG / .746 OPS
  6. QUOTE(bmags @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 12:39 AM) who has rage influenced... and come on Loveless and Spiderland have inlfuenced a lot more bands then entire discographys of other bands...I can get behind your hip hop but i dont think public enemy influenced that many...i think eric b. and rakim were much more influential. well, good or bad (i claim bad), Rage can be cited for the Rap-Metal trend that occured for about 5 years.
  7. 10 Influential Bands since 1986: Nirvana The Pixies REM Radiohead U2 Rage Against the Machine A Tribe Called Quest The Beastie Boys Public Enemy Metallica I can't give Slint or My Bloody Valentine too much credit since we are only pointing to 2 albums. Sonic Youth
  8. QUOTE(bmags @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 09:58 PM) i love radiohead, my favorite band...but this is seriously overlooking much more influential bands of the past 20 years... I see you are a Slint fan, but I think the Radiohead statement might be true. I'm a huge radiohead fan, so the idea of thom yorke as a white sox fan intrigues me. With that said, I highly doubt that they are fans. I'm guessing it was for a show in chicago so they improvised something that the fans in the area would like.
  9. There are steroid rumors about Oliver Perez.
  10. He has reached base in 6 straight games.
  11. http://www.hittrackeronline.com/detail.php...198&type=hitter This estimates around 459 feet.
  12. I think Coop is better, but Mike Maddux in Milwaukee has also done very well.
  13. From WhiteSox.com: Chris Getz, who had one hit Saturday, is hitting .478 during his six-game hitting streak for Birmingham. Currently in Birmingham (AA): 18 Games / 67 ABs / 7 BB / 6 SO / .313 BA / .387 OBP / .403 SLUG Everything I've read about him says that he has a great glove, Major League Ready at 2nd base, some say it is even good enough for short.
  14. Alright, I need an opinion about these dvds. I have the set and recently put it in my DVD player and watched it on my Widescreen tv. Anyways, what do you think the resolution of the dvd is in? I put it in 4:3 and for some strange reason the DVD was letterboxed on the sides and the top and bottom. I've never had any other DVD act like this. Normally it just letterboxes the left and right. So, I moved it to 16:9 (widescreen) and it looked fine except it was overly stretched. I used one of my zooms on my TV and it filled the entire screen with a little bit at the bottom being cut off (from the bottom half of the ball in the MLB logo down). I've read reviews and some say the DVDs are in Widescreen (16:9 or 1.78:1), others say 4:3 (1.33:1). Thing is, either way I watch it I end up having it letterboxed on way or the other. Anyone with a widescreen tv had this same problem?
  15. Great job. I do have one suggestion, perhaps in the rankings where the Player's age and Position is listed, also list the year and round they were drafted.
  16. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 03:46 PM) Okay, I'm convinced. Why is it so damn hard to find po stats, then? I don't know. Stats does keep track of them, but their website only has 06 stats up, not 05. Even my Bill james book keeps track of SB, CS, Stealing 3rd, baserunning (1st to 3rd, 2nd to home, thrown out while trying to advance), but no Picked Off.
  17. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 03:19 PM) Look at Pods' game log from last year. He was picked off twice on May 12, and he has 2 cs on that day. (And he was only on base twice.) That is because he was called out at 2nd. If Chen goes to pick off Podsednik at first, and Pods runs to 2nd and gets tagged out there, it is technically a CS. Same situation, and Pods dives back to 1st, he is picked off, different than a CS. EDIT: I can find the 06 leaders in Picked Off, but not 05.
  18. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 03:05 PM) Not sure where you looked, it was pretty easy to find. He was picked off 23 times. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stats?playerId=4405 no, he was caught stealing 23 times. I'm wondering how many times he was picked off.
  19. QUOTE(Beastly @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 12:29 PM) Yeah, okay, I see your logic, and that trade needed to happen if you wanted to win at all. I couldn't stand Caballo, who was a fat slow turd who could be replaced by Konerko and Everett easily. I don't understand your logic is all, no need for fights on why you dislike him... i'm confused EDIT: Anyone know how many times Podsednik was picked off last year? I've looked but can't find the #.
  20. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) also in college and i also agree Yeah, it was much bigger last year. As things go, it will begin to fade. It will still be more popular than it was before this increase in interest started, but I just think a lot of people have grown tired of it.
  21. I'm glad to see that the poker fad seems to be finally fading.
  22. I just saw him on Top 10 plays on Sportscenter for a diving catch he made in center.
  23. The fact that Thornton struck out Helton is a big deal.
  24. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 10:43 AM) case in point....stopping an annoyance. Summary of debate: http://www.bupa.co.uk/health_information/h...70503smoke.html
