  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 11:41 AM) Hijack.. Loved Finnes in the Red Dragon. agreed. He made that character so scary. I'm not sure many other actors could've pulled that off.
  2. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) Eyre is not a lefty specialist, look at his splits from last year. I liked this quote, "Scott Eyre's agent had heard from nearly every team regarding the free agent left-hander, but in the end he decided to go to the team that looked like it was having a good time." What, a good time? Um. those stast were an aboration. He is really just a lefty specialist.
  3. I'm going to see it tonight at 8:45 at century theaters. I'm so f***ing excitited. I love the casting of Ralph Fiennes as voldemort. Great Bad Guy Actor. It's PG-13 so it should be darker than the other ones and should much more of an action flick.
  4. Eyre could make $5 Million next year if he reaches some of those bonuses. A lefty specialist making $5 Million. Inf***ingcredible.
  5. $3 million for a lefty specialist. Eyre is stealing money from the Cubs.
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxfan1022 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) yea espn said 2/11, but maybe its a typo it's 2 years at $10 Million plus a $1 Million buyout or club option. That is my guess.
  7. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) I think the article is wrong. It has to be $11 million total if Eyre picks up the third year player option. no i think i heard it was a team option. And buyouts usually don't go for more than $1 Million unless they are superstars.
  8. QUOTE(bkmoney @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) heres some interesting stats remlinger in 02 had career year with atlanta 2002 Atl 73 0 0 0 68.0 48 17 15 3 28 69 7 3 0 30 5 1.99 and then his cubs stats the next year 2003 ChC 73 0 0 0 69.0 54 30 28 11 39 83 6 5 0 17 1 3.65 his career era: 3.90 eyre 04: 2005 SF 86 0 0 0 68.1 48 21 20 3 26 65 2 2 0 32 2 2.63 eyre's career era: 4.52 hmmm cubs interesting the reason Remlinger's stats were so good with Atlanta was because he was used him correctly. Bobby Cox almost never used him against left handed hitters. In fact lefties had 68 at bats against him compared to 174 at bats against righties.
  9. I'm guessing the contract will look something like this 2006: $4 Million 2007: $6 Million Buyout: $1 Million DUMBASSES!
  10. They might be paying more for Eyre in the last year of the contract than B.J. Ryan makes this year. Hell Eyre might make more than Ryan this year. What a dumbass.
  11. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) Exactly, even though it was his one good season. 3 Cubs fans who i know from school just called me saying how they are going to the World Series now because of Scott Eyre. I'm still on the floor laughing.
  12. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) Remlinger had reverse splits. He was a lefty that was better at getting righties out. So, of course, Dusty used him against lefties. exactly and Baker will use him against righties now thinking he is the best set-up man in baseball because of his stats last year.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) Remlinger was pretty damn good before the Cubs got him. The thing that I don't get is that most of the top hitters in the NL Central are righties. I don't think lefty specialist was such a glaring hole for them. Oh well....I'm very thankful the Sox didn't sign him for that money. yeah. If you look at his numbers Alou would match him up against Lefties. He pretty much pitched to lefties in part because Alou loves matchups. However Eyre's career stats aren't very good and if Baker misuses him like he has done with so many bullpen pitchers than it's gonna be a long year for Eyre.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 07:49 PM) It really is Mike Remlinger, part deux. Eyre is better than Remlinger however this guy is pretty much a lefty specialist. You don't pay a Left Specialist 4 million a year. It's only 2 years with a buyout. So the buyout must be worth around $1.5 million. YIKES!
  15. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) Bruce Levine was right about something. He is reporting on ESPN 1000 that the Cubs signed Scott Eyre to a 3 year, $11 million contract. What a horrible contract. :puke Jim Hendry should be fired for giving him a contract like that. Eyre is good but no middle relief pitcher should be making that kind of money. Shows what Eyre values though. They overpayed for him.
  16. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) Yeah sure, telling someone to "shut the f*** up you dont know what you are talking about" when you yourself dont know what the f*** you are talking about is sure dealing with your anger problems. The fact remains that you were not present at this altercation, and the common thought about this altercation is that Fred Miller was goading Kreutz until he snapped and popped him. Also, a HISTORY of anger problems implies more than one other incident. Do you know for a fact that Olin Kreutz has done this more than the one time when he was at Washington? yes he had an altercation at the Bears Fest a couple years ago. Steve McMichael was talking about it on the air yesterday. They were going up to this VIP suit afterwords and he thought William Perry was big timing him. McMichael said that if he hadn't been their to stop Olin somebody would've gotten hurt.
  17. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 08:56 AM) I think the guys family is in California. I wouldnt want to have to face my wife if I played in a city 4 states away and I left her home with a set of twins and another child all under 4 years old. dude they had triplets earlier this year. They must of been in the Zone Defense formation of you know what i mean.
  18. Per ESPN SC Update. Sad to see him go back to San Diego however I wish him luck.
  19. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) If you want to talk about disgraced..... Where is Rowand in performance of the year. He almost singlehandedly beat the Yankees. Where is Uribe in defensive player of the year? Rowand? -- Oh and watch the Orlando Hudson play. That guy is so good. He makes everything look so damn easy. I would love to have him on my team. In fact, he's probably my favorite non-sox player in baseball. You mean the play he made in the game that 14 Inning game that Shingo won. That was one of the best plays I have ever seen.
  20. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 05:57 PM) Josh, if the actual story comes out to be true that Kreutz was goaded by Miller and hit by a 5 pound weight or board in the head until he turned and hit Miller, are you going to apologize for thinking that you actually know what happened? You dont know what the f*** you are talking about either, you werent there. This happens all of the time in your threads, you act like you are "in the know" about athletes. Newsflash, you know pretty much what we all know. there was a fight, miller lost. they are saying on ESPN 1000 now that Miller hit him with the 5 pound weight after Krutz broke his jaw. Still Krutz has anger problems. He has a history of it and he needs help. I used to have some anger problems however i got help and i am thankful for it.
  21. If they were in the AL West that would mean they would have to play the A's 19 times a year. They would be screwed.
  22. QUOTE(Sox Radio Bryan @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) From time to time, I stop by this site to read what's up in the minds of Sox fans. Thank you to all who listened to White Sox baseball throughout the 2005 World Championship season. I appreciate the kind words that many of you have offered on this thread. Sure it would have been nice to continue talking White Sox baseball in the same capacity next year, but that's the nature of this media business. I was told when I was first hired that, should the radio rights change stations, there was no guarantee of employment for 2006 and beyond. It was a gamble worth taking in my professional career. Wouldn't you all agree?Fortunately, I continue to work at WMVP in a variety of roles. As far as the call with Bruce is concerned, it was great radio. I do not consider it a big deal, but I am in the minority based on all your opinions. Bruce works tirelessly and does a heck of a job. I have enjoyed working with him since day one. Thanks again for your thoughts, opinions, compliments and critiques. I appreciate it all. It was an enjoyable 175 broadcasts for me (one spring training + 162 regular season + 12 post season). I hope you had fun because I sure did. great job and keep up the great work for Notre Dame. BTW What will you do if they play Miami?
  23. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) Ok, since you want to split hairs, do you want to dispute the guy who reports on the bears on ESPN1000? um that would be Jeff Dickerson. I've met him before and I had him on my radio show.
  24. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 06:29 PM) Mullins told Carmen and Silvy this morning. Would you like to dispute the Bears beat writer? he isn't the bears beat reporter. Biggs is.
  25.
