Fields I suppose. We have a 3rd Baseman waiting who has proven himself. That's not the case for a leadoff spot. Besides, I doubt Roberts costs nearly that much. I could be wrong, though.

LOL, not worth it? With Roberts, we would have: 1. An actually good leadoff hitter/base stealer. 2. A way to put Swisher in a place in the lineup where he actually belongs and can be effective. 3. A Way to get Uribe OUT. You can't tell me that's "not worth it with this team." "This team" is plenty capable of being dominant. Approaching it with the logic of not "wasting" anything for another player is really just bad, IMO. What happens if the offense gets hot, or just some of it? That's the problem around here and with fans in general. If someone is hitting, they are awesome. If not, they're terrible, and if an entire offense is struggling even though they are capable of very much, a new acquisition "isn't worth it." That's just a poor rationale. Then from the look of the lineup before the season, that would make Swisher or any other hitter we could have acquired "not worth it."

I really wish we had Brain Roberts right now.

Hey, I hate losing a game just as much as anyone else, especially when certain annoying factors that shouldn't happen flood in, but Jesus Christ. EVERY damn game that we lose means someone has to be overrated, sent down, benched, or fired. Everytime PK slumps, you people b****, then he finishes the season with 30+ homers and 80+ RBIs. Most of you seem to never learn anything. And even so, things happen and are gonna happen. The Sox are still a good team, they are still in first place, the world is still spinning on its axis. Last night, when Uribe came in and hit and I questioned it, I thought that either Ozzie was being stupid or I was. BTW, am I stupid for wondering why we've been pitching to Abreau in key situations? There was a certain at-bat (not sure which game it was) where Abreau was up with men on second and third I believe, and I remember wondering why in the world we were pitching to him. I believe he knocked in some runs in that at-bat, too.

Would you like to check his overall stats from each of those three years? Paulie will hit. And so far, he's actually had some timely hitting, and I don't see that much in someone who's in a slump.
