Garland has looked pretty good in his last 3 starts, guys, although the last one wasn't as sharp as the previous 2. He just can't seem to get any decisions. I'm still a Garland believer, and he's showing me that he's possibly on the right track again.

Wow. Some things never change. Every time one player on this team is successful at one area and fails at another, or even fails totally for a time, everyone says "bench him," or "trade him," or "he sucks." yeah, then when he hits a game winning home run or makes a spectacular play, he's awesome again. Shoota, since you are looking at Juan's production now and are not giving a damn about his past success, I am waiting for your inevitable thread that says we have to trade Garland right away. BTW, Juan's madew some bad plays lately, but hey, I believe Crede has made a few errors as of late, whether that's because of his back or not. I am so sick of people attacking a player like this for these reasons, esepecially when it hasn't been that long. BTW, this team highlighted pitching and defense last year and quite a few guys had hitting slumps at one time or another, and I DO believe the team wants to keep it based on defense and pitching because that's what wins games. To suggest Cintron over Uribe permanently at all based soley on offense is ridiculous. Look at Pods at the start of this season. He was horrible. He had a long stretch of absolutely nothing. We were hearing the same thing. Then he started getting hot, and WOW! HE'S AWESOME! Christ. And I'm not just talking to shoota, I'm talking to a lot of people here that act this way. Try actually being a fan, and by that, I mean a real, faithful, open-minded fan, not some quick tempered bandwagoner who wants to get rid of soembody as soon as they make some mistakes.

QUOTE(OilCan @ May 29, 2006 -> 06:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Forgive me father for I have sinned. I fell asleep during the last two innings of today's Sox game. Really. I'm stripping the wooden floor in my office, getting rid of that @#^@#^@ carpet finally, and yesterday and today it's stripper day. Dang, those fumes are enough to knock you out. Oooh, you'll have to say "Hail Mary" about 20 times for that one. -
Frankly, I'm sick of hearing this. Maybe he's a fluke, maybe he's not, but I say no. He'll come around. I guess Estaban Loaiza has no chance of being really good, either.

HELL YES! THE BEASTS RUN THE f***ING SHOW! JAVIER PITCHES A MAGNIFICENT GAME! EAT s*** INDIANS! -
Yeah, I'm wondering when Juan is going to realize this. On the otehr hand, I find it sad that BA is being targeted for going down to AAA by Ozzie, but Uribe is just as brutal, if not a bit worse, and nothing's said about him. If Ozzie sends down BA... I dunno...
-
In agreement about this being a bad idea. I realize BA has been cold lately, but he'll get better. I dunno about the rest of you, but I'm not too fond of Mack or even Pods as a full time CF.

We swept Oakland! Oh, wait a minute...

Official Cheer Frank Thomas Tomorrow Thread
TheBigHurt replied to GoRowand33's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm surprised Doug Eddings didn't get a better ovation than Frank initially Frank's homecoming was just a piece of a very unusual game... Doug Edding returns...with a crazy strike zone, Ozzie is thrown out in the second inning, the park becomes a zoo with squirrels and gulls, Pablo wins the game with a "walk off bunt," Frank returns and hits 2 HR, only he's on the opposing team, and oh yeah, we win the opener against OAKLAND. Wow, what a f***ing wierd game... -

I will be giving an ovation. But Frank will possibly get a lot of boos, too. And if he deos, I can hear Frank now... "I can't believe they were booing me. I'm shocked by it, and I don't deserve it. What did I ever do to them? If I'd known they were going to boo me, I would have never stepped up to the plate." -
I thought he was always in the trib. I need to read the paper more.
-
Anybody got a link to this column? I couldn't find it in the Trib.
-
Yeah, Pods did take down Barrett, but if not for the umpire, he might not have succeeded.
-
Wow, isn't it funny? Even if Arow were still here, he probably STILL would've gotten his face roughed up

You'll be truly astounded at how fast they can run back to the dugout after making outs...........they'll dazzle you with how quickly they can fall in the standings." BEST. QUOTE. EVER.

He plays great cetner field. He's not going anywhere. Rowand never eally did much at the plate last year, but he wasn't going to go anywhere. Sure, So far Brian's even worse at the plate, but I don't expect that to be a constant.
