  1. @waddleandsilvy Good article by @KBergCBS. Orlando would like to send Howard to #Bulls, but nothing likely since Howard wont sign long term here.
  2. Looks like the Linsanity Van has driven off Reality cliff
  3. Just curious, do Illinois fans feel that Shaka is looking at Illinois as a stepping stone? If he is, does that change your feelings about him getting the job?
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 11, 2012 -> 10:04 AM) What do the Jets see in Sanchez? High profile marketability?
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 10, 2012 -> 10:45 AM) Technically Brees was selected with the Chargers pick (not the Falcons). The Chargers actually got, Tomilson, Tay Cody, and Reche Caldwell. Technically they did well because Tomilson was a beast and they still got their QB in Brees with another pick, but the other guys the Chargers got didn't exactly light it up. A better haul was the Chargers trade of Eli Manning, where they got Rivers, Nate Kaeding, and Shawne Merriman (1st round the following year). Ah, didnt know that. thanks
  6. QUOTE (daa84 @ Mar 10, 2012 -> 10:42 AM) that makes more sense, but still.... in both trades the teams jumped 4 spots (from 5 to 1, and 6 to 2), and the redskins gave up 2 1st rounders and a third, while the falcons gave up a 2nd, a 3rd and receiver nobody heard of What is the value of the picks though. Brees was the first pick of the second round, that is still a pretty high value pick, no?
  7. QUOTE (daa84 @ Mar 10, 2012 -> 10:37 AM) wow...put that in perspective with what the Rams just did.... #1 pick for #5 pick and a 3rd rounder vs. #2 pick for #6 pick, two more 1st rounders, 1 more second rounder You also have to put it in perspective what the teams did with the picks. Brees and Tomlinson for Vick is pretty awesome. The Broncos got what with the picks for Cutler?
  8. damn I was up too early and out too late to be making any sort of sane thoughts. jesus Vick and Brees
  9. man, this is going to be a complicated discussion. Luck is a pure passer, RG3 can pass and run. Sort of similar to the Vick and Manning draft, Manning came out on top due to the Superbowls, but Vick has always had the hype and the glamor.
  10. "Somebody come and play, today" The Play with me Sesame Street song on the Sprout channel. needle in brain
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 10, 2012 -> 03:06 AM) This is basketball. Talent will almost always win out. Get me the guy who can recruit the best players and I'll take my chances. That's funny, because a large part of the reason Weber got fired is because they said he couldn't coach the talent that he recruited.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) People who say this truly forget the black holes we had at catcher in the 15 years leading up to AJ. Mark Johnson FTW!
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) John Shea ‏ @JohnSheaHey BREAKING NEWS: #Athletics OF Jason Pridie suspended 50 games, violating minor-league drug program. Agent Matt Sosnick not returning calls. coughmannycough
  14. So if Manning goes to Denver, does that mean that he will ride the pine behind Tebow?
  15. a million billion gazillion
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 10:20 AM) He's a pretty physical corner as well, isn't he. That isn't the kind of defense that the Bears are known for. Maybe that would change if he came, but could be a bad fit. Ie. Asomughe with Philly. Goes from one of the best one on one CBs in the league to being lost in the Philly D
  17. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 11:23 AM) From what I've heard, Shaka is the target. Stevens seems to be the pipedream because of his buyout. I want Anthony Grant though. He's great with recruits, demands respect, and all his guys turn into defenders under him. I think he's going to be the next great coach. Shaka I think is going to flame out. JMO though. Does anyone know Shaka's buyout?
  18. due to hold music, my song has now changed to "Down at the Sunset Grille" by Don Henley
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 08:05 AM) http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20..._tb&c_id=tb in other news, Mark Prior was seen walking away from the Tampa dugout with an evil grin on his face mumbling "hehe, towels"
  20. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 09:21 AM) Come back to Carbondale please. #pipedream and bring Jabari Parker #biggerpipedreaminvolvinghuffinglue
  21. Lisztomania by Phoenix From a mess to the masses!
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 8, 2012 -> 07:47 PM) For whatever reason, it never dawned on me, but Belichick did try the TE thing in the first part of the decade. Bringing in Graham and Watson with first round picks that close together kind of alludes to the fact that he wanted something along those lines. He just so happened to get exactly what he wanted a few years later in the same exact draft. Yeah, you can see two things he was trying to do, stack the D line and stack the TEs. It just so happened that Ty Warren, Ben Watson and Daniel Graham didnt work as well as Hernandez, Wilfork, and Gronk
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 8, 2012 -> 05:11 PM) I'm proud to say I am not involved in the latest back and forth!! WOOO!!! In other news... Bulls on TNT tonight. Love it. Why do we get the junior varity TNT squad tonite? Not cool
  24. Stop the snark people. Lets talk basketball, nobody wants to babysit this thread.
