QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 28, 2012 -> 12:17 PM) One answer to this problem might be to give him 5-10 minutes in a game just to get the feel for it, but for whatever reason, that isn't Thibs's style. Thibs has always been a guy who will play you if you earn it in practice and tell him you can play(ie. not injured)

Jericho/Punk was a really good opener, especially in light of the fact that the Rock is headlining tonite. I'm starting to like where Lauriantis's character is going

First they had the Costa Concordia turn on its side and sink, and now a ship is without power, adrift because of a fire breaking out on board. And oh yeah, they are right in the middle of Somali pirate territory. http://www.cnn.com/2012/02/27/world/europe...html?hpt=hp_bn7 http://www.usnews.com/news/world/articles/...les-ship-adrift

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 09:06 AM) http://dailyherald.com/article/20120226/sports/702269784/ I know this is redundant now. But who cares. Imrem nailed it. Do it. I have heard 2 different rumors this morning already regarding Howard, and neither imply the bulls are involved, sadly. One has the Lakers getting him via 3 way trade with Toronto, the other(which DBAHO stated) was the Magic going all out for Nash.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 08:15 AM) Is one of your dogs named ? I love that video. I wasnt too mad, but I think if I didnt go out there my male basset would have gotten stomped. When I ran up, the deer had turned around and was stamping her foot. As I was walking home I was like "you idiots, what would you have even done if you caught the deer"
-
f*** this morning! I let my dogs out only to watch them chase deer out of the yard, so I get to half throw my shoes on and chase them 3 blocks away in a field to bring them home. (Really it was pretty funny seeing two bassets chasing deer) THEN I get halfway to work and realize I forgot my wallet and my phone. Yay for being late to work.

It sucks there was no Shameless this week, but Eastbound and Down was pretty awesome. Will Ferrell coming back as Schafer was awesome, and Stevie doing the Kabuki dance for the Kia people was hilarious

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 08:18 PM) Hey look, two pretty mediocre NBA players get into a battle on Twitter: http://www.homeruncards.com/images/2005-white-sox.gif And I don't necessarily agree that Rose isn't a flashy player. Remember that jizz-worthy reverse dunk at the end of the skills challenge his rookie year? There's just no competition in the ASG and he really probably doesn't give a s***. So, which players got into a battle on twitter

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 25, 2012 -> 08:16 AM) Still say he has the best pure LH stuff I've seen since Liriano 06. Which scares me in itself. Lets just hope Sale's slider is easier on his elbow than Liriano's was

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 25, 2012 -> 08:24 AM) Damn. Hopefully those incentives have to do with getting Dwight here I was curious how an incentive program works in a shoe contract. All Star appearances? Playoff appearances?
-
D Rose just got PAID. 185 million dollar contract from Adidas, possibly escalating to 200 mil with incentives.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 01:07 PM) *bump* I just finished 11/22/63, and I have to say it's one of the best books I've ever read. As far as Stephen King books go, it might be his best, and it's certainly his best since It. And speaking of It, I loved the references to the story within this book. I understand the reverance for It, but I think The Dark Tower as a whole, in particular VII The Dark Tower, was his finest work. It was pretty awesome how he intertwined all of his books as well as himself(getting hit by the car) into the books

I just finished Chris Paolini's Inheritance Cycle (the books about Eragon), I really liked it and I am looking forward to whatever comes next. And good god i hope they remake the Eragon movie, because its nothing like the book

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 09:10 AM) The guy makes some terrible decisions passing the ball. He can dribble and get around guys pretty effectively when he needs to. Did you watch how many times Chalmers picked his pocket last night? They got up in his face, forced him left, and stripped the ball. AND his passing was bad. I certainly dont think his career is over, but like I said a few weeks ago when this "Jeremy Lin is happening" and "Linsanity" started, the book wasnt out on this kid yet. Once it is, he will be attacked and he wont look like the kid who is dropping 38 on the Lakers. He will have more games like that, but he wont do it all the time. And when good defensive teams get up in his face, he will look lost like he did last night.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 09:06 AM) Sure, that's a terrible stat, but he's also a rookie. Did Rose have a jump shot when he was a rookie? All I know is that Lin plays the pick and pop better than the majority of PG's out there. He can hit a jump shot (in big moments), he handles the ball well and he has ways of driving and dishing to open teammates. He has some flaws to his game, but just about everyone does. I don't see how a bad game against "the best team to ever grace a basketball court" is the last straw on his career. No, he does not.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) Not gonna matter. Witchita State is gonna win Arch Madness anyway. Come on Brian, how many times did SIU, UNI, Creighton, WSU go into arch madness as the heavy favorite only to lose? Anything is possible. Except SIU winning it all -
Herm looks fantastic. It is really good to see he finally took his health seriously and made that change.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 11:44 AM) Again, stop it. I've never once said that the Heat were a lock to win the title. I said before the season they were the best team in the east and I feel even more confident in that assertion now that we have a little more than half a season of data to work with. I never said the Thunder were the best team or that they couldn't be stopped. I said they were more complete, as in they don't have a clear discernible weakness (i.e. a scrub like Joel Anthony starting). Nothing unreasonable so far. Yawnnnn@the Knicks. I've long admitted that I was wrong there. Are you seriously still yappin' about last year? Pull up last year's NBA thread and give me the list of posters who picked Dallas. Then find the part of the thread where the Heat were up 15 in the 4th quarter in game 2. All im saying, is your way of speaking in absolutes catches you EVERY time.
