2012-2013 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 3, 2012 -> 09:08 AM) Can I claim the "It's morning" excuse? Anyway, point to you, 30 demerits to me. LOL, sure you can. Anyways, Achilles is a brutal injury and recovery. Many times it snaps and balls up inside the calf and has to be extracted. I can only imagine how painful it must be for him. We may never see the same Suggs again. Offseason basketball, I wonder how the contract works with that....

2012-2013 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 3, 2012 -> 09:05 AM) Well, a "6-9 month recovery time" for an ACL tear was given as the number for another recent ACL tear, and that puts it right in the middle of the NFL season if it's at the short end...then depends on if you want to keep the guy having a roster spot for 8-12 games when he can't play. this isnt ACL balta. THis is achilles

Bryce Harper Getting Called Up
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 3, 2012 -> 08:41 AM) That too. Strikes from the outfield to home. He gallops like a horse in the outfield, too. I've never seen a 19 year old who looks like this. Yes you have, you were young, but this was Griffey Jr. Deadspin has a funny video of Harper showing up at the washington monument the other day to take a few softball cuts. He whiffs on the first one, which is pretty funny, then he sends the next one a mile away

I couldn't pass up sharing this story, it is so bold and crazy, I just wonder how far this girl could have gone without deadspin catching wind of it. www.deadspin.com/5906658/is-an-espn-columnist-scamming-people-on-the-internet

The Official Thread for Joe Cowley and his Agenda.
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 2, 2012 -> 04:29 PM) See, it depends if the poster had the wrestling persona all the time. Cowley as was stated by Telander thought his followers got it, got his persona. I think what happened is the right thing. They told him to cut it out. He killed his twitter account. It'll return and he'll post dull comments during games. His little twitter game is over. Ah, so the tenured writer backs up his coworker and it is ok. So again, if someone insults you among many other people on this site, and cites a wrestling "heel" persona as the reason, you are ok with that?

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 2, 2012 -> 02:22 PM) Interesting to note that Seau shot himself in the chest, not in the head, just like Dave Duerson didnt Duerson do that deliberately so that his brain could be examined? I thought I read that somewhere

QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2012 -> 01:28 PM) Weren't there rumors Seau tried to kill himself a few years ago as well? yeah, he drove his car off a cliff around the time he was arrested for domestic violence. He insisted he fell asleep behind the wheel

Greg, if someone insulted you personally on this website repeatedly and when confronted by an admin, claimed it was their "wrestling personality" and they were a good guy, would you accept that?

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 1, 2012 -> 10:26 PM) Whatever, man. This board just cracks me up. It's not even that I give a s*** about what anybody thinks. But it just goes to show you that around these parts, if you're wrong, you're going to hear about it. When you're right, well, it was a fluke or something. Nobody will even say well "at least he was right about Tyson." The Knicks are worlds better than they were last year defensively. This reminds me of when Marty was the only one who said Sergio Santos needs to go if KW can get a good haul back. Marty was dismissed by everybody. Three weeks later Santos is gone. lol. Jesus h, j4l, who told you that Tyson wouldn't be DPOY and when did you say he would be? Tyson has always been a fantastic defensive player, there is no doubt about this. If you want credit for calling your shot, and if you did call that shot early this season, then congrats. Honestly, good call. You are trying to dredge up that argument and you should let it lie. There was so much more to it than you saying Tyson was going to be DPOY and we both know it. f***.

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 1, 2012 -> 10:07 PM) I don't care about getting razzed for it. It was not about that and you know why I got pissed. I'm just saying looking back, I wasn't really that far off. There's no way anybody could've foreseen Carmelo being so bad for 40 games and Amare being so bad all year. Yes it is, J4L. They played the exact same way last season when Carmelo came to the Knicks. Melo and Amare just do not work well together, their games offset each other, and it drags their numbers down. Everyone got all worked up about Lin, and what happened? He came back to earth and the Knicks went right back to being the .500 team that they have been since Melo has been there. It is a huge combination of players that simply do not know how to work together.

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 1, 2012 -> 09:50 PM) Wrong again. I said they had a case for second best team after the Heat. I never said they were definitively better than the Bulls. And what do you mean spoil the finals for me? lol. Oh yeah, my Heat, baby. I love them. Please. And Zoom, Kyyle, etc, were in here saying that I was overrating Chandler and that he wasn't that good. Hey, I told you personally I wouldn't bring that post up with you again and would not razz you for it again, so don't drag me into your arguments with others. I'm done with it, you made a prediction, it is what it is.
