  1. There is really no quit in this team right now. As pissed as I was last night that they lost, I just thought to myself "Well, they were in position to win, and they couldnt do it. Oh well, next game". 2 months ago I would have been thinking about how the next 3 series were guaranteed losses
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 02:15 PM) Funny but I've been reading all the threads on here and didn't see one mention of Ozzie making great moves last night. The Trib pointed out several. Funny, reading through the thread and I am noticing you are the only one complaing about anything
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 09:08 AM) And no matter what happens in this series, we will leave Minnesota at least 1.5 ahead of the Twins. I prefer 7.5
  4. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 09:57 AM) Twins are 12th out of 14 teams in defensive efficiency. Most runners stranded. On a near-record double plays hit into pace. http://www.sctimes.com/article/20100711/SP...26/-1/RSSSPORTS I dont agree with this at all. Their rotation is extremely suspect, Blackburn and Slowey are throwing BP right now
  5. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 04:43 PM) According to Garfien Morneau might land on the DL, TIFWIW. benchwarmerjim said he had multiple concussions playing hockey in HS, and has already had a concussion in the majors before this recent one. Concussion syndrome is no joke, if he has it right now he is probably feeling pretty awful.
  6. apparently the Hornets rescinded their offer to Luther Head based on medical reports

Dark City was awesome. I remember seeing that in the theater thinking "what the f*** is going on here????"

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 09:02 AM) Oh man. Took my daughter to see the new Twilight film last night. What a melodramatic, poorly acted, piece of crap. What exactly were you expecting?
  9. You know whats funny about that Garcia thread? Everyone was pretty much like "Why the hell didnt we give Seattle Borchard instead of Reed????" We just waited a few years, then gave them Borchard for Thornton. LOL QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 09:02 PM) I was pissed we didn't send him in the deal instead of Reed. Stated many times since I've posted here, I was never a fan of his. Thank god he gave us Matt Thornton. Yours was the first complaint that jumped out at me, ha
  10. QUOTE (VAfan @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 04:29 PM) 1) If we can take on Dunn or Cecil Fielder's contract, we can take on Oswalt's. This is the kind of move KW is known for. A deep run in the playoffs would certainly help the club's bottom line. Don't underestimate how much Jerry Reinsdorf might be willing to spend if he thinks the Sox have a chance at another World Series. Cecil will just gamble it away
  11. lol sqwert, nice edit

QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 10:32 AM) Pedro seems to be nearly ready to compete this year, and with the injury to Peavy the Sox could use another arm. While he isnt what he used to be, he could be a pretty good 4 or 5 pitcher for the Sox and would not cost anything in the way pf prospects. I am not sure KW will be able to make any deals now that most of his major trade chips are on the ML roster, so I think he will have to look to unconventional means to shore up the team for the stretch run. I would like to see him bring in Delgado on a minor league deal as well just to see if he has anything left. Bringing in Pedro would allow KW to make Hudson available again if he can add another bat. Where did you read this? This article states the exact opposite, from his own agent and GM Ruben Amaro Pedro hasnt even thrown off a mound this year, how do you figure he is almost ready?
  13. QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 13, 2010 -> 09:34 PM) I don't know whether I should laugh at you, or feel bad for you for saying that.. I dunno, but the Bulls aint that good.. The Bulls may not have the big 3, but that doesnt mean they are not good. They have addressed many needs in this offseason and are surrounding Rose with a lot of complimentary talent.
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 13, 2010 -> 09:28 PM) And Fogg was the giant killer for the Rockies during that ridiculous stretch they had in 2007. If I recall correctly, he was constantly being matched up with a bunch of aces and continually came out on top. It also helped that the Rockies offense was absolutely ridiculous during that stretch, Matt Holliday ended the year hitting .340 with 137 RBIs. Fogg didnt have to be perfect, just keep it under 5
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 13, 2010 -> 01:08 PM) My thoughts exactly. He was in Bill Wirtz territory for a long time until the last 10 years or so. RIP you crazy guy. How do you mean? Bill Wirtz was a notorious penny pincher, Steinbrenner was a notorious free spender

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 09:02 PM) Like those fuzzy things in Avatar? couldnt tell you, I havent seen it
  17. He has been in very poor health the past couple years, pretty much wheelchair bound and many people speculating dementia. RIP George, you were larger than life and you were the owner that everyone hated, and everyone wanted

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 03:32 PM) I never saw it, but the people I know who did have said that it was almost pointless to be in 3D. They said there were very few scenes that utilized it. the entire movie had what seemed to be a light snow falling everywhere, which added a very cool element to the picture. I thought that the 3D was used very often, it was just subtle
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 09:57 PM) Scott Kazmir got shelled tonight. He goes to the break with a 6.92 ERA. He game up 13 runs in 5 IP. They said on ESPN that he was only the second guy since the expansion that has ever done that. Scioscia made him bite the bullet for the bullpen
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 06:10 PM) It was a tough pill to swallow being a Saluki alum, but I will have to be a team player and put my past grudges away... LOL me and some buddies shared the same sentiment, but at the end we agreed that he can just go off and score like crazy so it is acceptable. But goddamn that guy was a guaranteed 20-5-5 against the Salukis everytime

I really liked parts of Men who stare at goats, but it dragged too long

How about his new nasally "Save big money at Menaaaaards" Tonite he also said Gordon "Bow and Arrowed that one out of here" on his homerun multiple times
  23. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 09:03 PM) DONT STOP! GET IT GET IT! It looks like big frank is yelling this angrily when I look at your avatar
  24. QUOTE (hitlesswonder @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 08:59 PM) They may not be able to do it for PR reasons, but realistically that strategy would produce a title-contending team faster than keeping Rose and Noah in long-term expensive contracts when Miami has a lock on the conference for the next 5 to 6 years. I wouldn't do it myself because punting away seasons seems lame, but I can't come up with argument that it isn't the best bet to build a championship team. I fail to understand why giving up Rose and Noah is better than signing them to long term contracts. You can definitely build around rose, and an argument could be made that you could build around Noah as well if he can stay healthy and maintain the same level of play he was at last year.
  25. QUOTE (hitlesswonder @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 08:46 PM) They won't field a team by 2015 to beat the Heat. Honestly it wouldn't be crazy to start trading off assets like Rose and Noah in the next two years to stockpile picks and get ready for 2016. LMAO yes it would. It would be worse than the white flag trade
