QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 12:37 PM) Royals, down 5-1, actually had a comeback to tie game at 5-5 against the M's with two clutch, two out hits against R-R-S. Would be nice to see the White Sox do that more often. Rolls eyes right back. Last time I checked, those homers against SEA/Aardsma/Lowe were solo homers, not "clutch two out (base) hits (with RISP)"...(since the Royals aren't a home run hitting team, either, with the exception of Guillen/Ankiel). How many times recently has someone other than Rios done that....getting a "clutch" single with a runner on 2nd base with 2 outs in the 7th/8th/9th innings? Rios and Andruw both were last out of the inning IIRC, I know Rios was for sure. And Rios hit his when the Sox were down. Its fine though, your definitions of bad and great can vary as much as you would like them to

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 10:47 AM) Pierre and Beckham should not be hitting so high in the order. Nor should Rios be hitting that low. at this point, Ozzie can draw names out of a hat and put them in that order and we wouldnt know if it was right or wrong. Its top to bottom fail right now -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 09:53 AM) Kenny Williams has done a great job having a roster prepared to go from the "opening bell" the last two years. True or false? I think based on the results so far, the White Sox would be better off with Clayton Richard and an actual DH (Jones has been fine) like Matsui. I could care less about Poreda. Im sure you will find room to cite him in a future post in bold italics underlined -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 09:38 AM) Zelig responded to a post asking how Ozzie could screw up a lineup, with "not having Peavy give up 5 runs." That's counter-intuitive; Peavy sucking (which we all agree is a huge problem for this team) has nothing to do with taking responsibility off of Ozzie's poor decision making. Peavy starts every 5 days, Ozzie makes the lineup 100% of the time. seeing how Floyd has gotten lit up in his starts this year, I think the only counterintuitive thinking is your reading into Leonards post and deciding what he was actually talking about. I also hope that Floyd doesnt give up 5 runs in the first inning, which is possible. And it has nothing to do with ozzie -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 09:17 AM) Yes, because all of Ozzie's poor managing can be written off by Peavy's bad start. Wow, I didnt see all of that in Zeligs post. You sure can read good -
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 11:57 PM) Uhh dream coach scenario here Bulls fans? There is no f-ing way that Reinsdorf ponies up the money for Phil Jackson.

If you're KW, who's on your BIG BOARD to replace Ozzie?
Kyyle23 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
As much as I am mad at Ozzie for last night, thats the right thing to say for Beckham to get the pressure off of him -
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 12:19 AM) Sox will not see .500 in 2010 so this is moot! the nonstop brilliant one liners continue!

I dont think he will be fired, and I really dont think i am all for it, but letting Juan Pierre end the game last night with Andruw Jones on deck batting for Vizquel(instead of Pierre) is just disgusting me beyond belief. -
What, you dont think Flair/Abyss is a must see event?

It is always convenient to forget how absolutely abysmal at the plate Uribe was at the end of his career with the Sox. I am glad he has resurrected his career and is useful for San Fran now, but he was all but a guaranteed out in his last year with the Sox, it was dreadful watching him swing at facehigh fastballs all the time. Everyone complains about all-glove no-bat Vizquel now, but its basically the same thing we were getting out of Uribe, and now everyone wants uribe back -
QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:09 AM) So many details left out of this gamethread but because its heads I will be alright and not make a fuss about this horrible thread. Just make a fuss already and be done with it

I worked crap jobs that paid good money over summer break while in college. Frito Lay in Carol Stream unloading trucks from 2 AM till 12 PM. The summer zipped by, but I had a good chunk of change to waste at Sidetracks by the time I hit carbondale

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:48 AM) I know, I'm just annoyed and angry at Pierre after last night. Call it an irrational, illogical emotional response. I know exactly how you feel. And if I have to see his carbon copy groundout to second one more time I am going to throw my remote through the screen.

Fielder is a 100 percent rental IMO. Especially after Howards payday. Boras is going to take his man to the open market, and KW will just smile and turn his head the other way. So is it worth it?

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 02:55 AM) Personally I don't think there's any doubt Stern wants Lebron vs. Kobe in the finals, and he's instructed the refs to help those teams out as much as possible. While I agree with this, I dont think the Bulls were going to win the series if the refs called a semi-fair game and the Bulls won this game. It was seriously a joke to watch the refs in that game. How can you take that And-1 away from Rose? Brad Miller gets consecutive fouls against Shaq on an isolation play when Shaq is initiating the contact with his elbows and pushing Miller back, and then they call the exact same thing on Noah? That was seriously the set of plays in the 4th quarter that changed the game. The Bulls were immediately put in foul trouble with all of their big men and had to play soft the rest of the quarter, and they still only lost by 2. Im still disgusted with the game

QUOTE (scotty22hotty @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 12:12 AM) lmao I love how some of the mods and even the admins are always butthurt over pods success Instead we have Pierre who is arguably our worst hitter (and player w/ -0.6 WAR) for around 9M/2 The Sox could have had Pods for 2M-3M instead of acquiring a player that no one in the league wanted early in the winter... If only he waited. Sure, this is definitely Mods and Admins vs the rest of Soxtalk. Your post is full of hindsight, it is funny that you should mention being butthurt -

Timo would be worth about 5 wins minimum. Just sitting on the bench next to cora would net at least one win, but if you let him actually hit and play the field regularly? shoot, this team may be undefeated -

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 04:42 PM) Dillard and Booker now both OFFICIALLY gone from SIU. Both had their good and their bad. Sucks Dillard is going. I know for a fact he was regretting signing with us his senior year at HF but tried to tough it out. It truly is amazing the talent that Lowery has run out of the program. For the money he gets paid, it is unacceptable.
