QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 6, 2009 -> 12:25 PM) Please go to field turf. I love how they watch Boller and Bell slip and fall untouched, yet the commentator says he doesnt want to see them switch to field turf because he likes real grass. GMAFB

QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Dec 6, 2009 -> 10:11 AM) Yeah the first round sucked, and they were totally gassed in the third, but holy s***, did you guys miss that ridiculously sick belly-to-back suplex Kimbo pulled off on Houston??? My God, I was screaming! That was some serious Kurt Angle pro-wrestling s*** right there. I never, ever thought I'd become a Kimbo fan, but he's won me over. Houston was supposed to destroy him, yet Kimbo was the one who pushed the pace, plus he hit a nasty suplex, he got the takedowns, he looked to GNP, he took the mount, took the back, tried to sink in chokes... yeah his cardio sucks and he's not a top-level HW by any means, but he's improved a lot already and he comes to fight. He gets my respect for sure, and I do want to see him again. That Kimbo-Alexander fight to me was a lot like Coleman-Shogun 2. Yeah both guys were out of shape and everything, but there was emotion and energy there, and that 2nd round definitely made the fight worth it. OTOH, the McSweeney-Schoonover fight shouldn't have even been on TV. As a supposed dangerous kickboxer, McSweeney is disgustingly bad, and Schoonover doesn't even come close to being UFC caliber even though he does have heart and a chin. McSweeney should be food for CroCop in his next fight. Yeah his suplex was nice, but he was extremely gassed which bothered me because there really wasnt a whole lot of action to gas him. Kimbo basically stood in the middle of the ring for the first 3 minutes while Alexander went in circles around him, when it got to the point that Kimbo could push the action, he never came through. I kept waiting for him to throw another haymaker everytime he stunned Alexander, and he did stun him a few times in the 2nd and 3rd round, but Kimbo never went after Alexander. To me it was like Kimbo didnt trust his skills vs someone who he knows can kickbox and has a little bit of martial arts ability, so he was hesitant to go in after him. Alexander looked like he was fighting scared, which was kind of funny considering his prefight stomping and screaming. Kimbo in the UFC is going to be all about the right fight for him, if they ever put him in there against someone who has a big ground game he is going to be f***ed.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 05:14 PM) They have ranches in Illinois? Now out here I would believe it, but Illinois? Why is that so hard to believe? Thome is from the Peoria area

Schaub got KTFO by Nelson, Nelson gets the 6 figure contract. Kimbo and Alexander danced in circles for 5 minutes, threw a few punches, wrestled around just a little bit, and Kimbo got the decision in a boring match. Mitrione KO-ed big baby(missed the fight). Schoonover lost to McSweeney, he really never had a shot, McSweeney was all over him.

I was hearing he is being projected as 1st round talent, but never got much of a chance to show it. Think he still goes first round? -
You are Tennis player Andy Murray. You have a choice, dial down your video game habit and keep your girlfriend, or continue with your video game habit and lose your girlfriend. http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/blog/busted_ra...?urn=ten,206655

Michael was just a hardass about competing. If he beat someone he knew was a far inferior opponent, he wasnt going to grandstand about it. Lets face it, LeBron was dancing last night because he made a good move over James f***ing Johnson, a rookie who is totally overmatched at this level. And his team was up like 15 at the time, and all of the Bulls starters were on the bench. MJs idea of grandstanding was letting his point total hang over your head. You talk s***? MJ is gonna drop 40 on you without thinking twice. You talk s*** to LeBron? He is going to dance and preen and make all kinds of goofy faces for the camera. Did anyone catch the end of the timeout where LeBron and a no name teammate were waiting for the kiss cam to drop on them so they could pretend to kiss? Then they were too cool and got nervous about it? It was f***ing high school bulls*** -

QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 09:45 PM) He's a guy who never had to grow up and got millions at the age of 18. Of course he's going to act a fool, he's never been told to not act a fool. I 100% agree with this. He still is only 24 going on 25, so there is time for him to figure it out. You have to wonder if he ever will though. I watch his interviews, and it just seems like everything is a big joke to him, its like watching wrestling interviews. He always makes the faces and the poses and answers questions like a douche. -
QUOTE (BFirebird @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 03:24 PM) If $35-$36M is what Figgins ends up getting. What does this mean for Beltre? What should he expect? supposedly asking 4/40

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/12/ange...atthews-jr.html I was surprised to read the portion of that blurb that mentioned his suspect defense. I thought that was his one redeemable quality. -

So Scutaro is on the BoSox, so now Pedroia is officially a SS? Generally you are moved from that position to second because your range is questionable, no?
