  1. my supervisor just left. Time has stood still since then. I swear from 6-9 time just zipped by, now it is taking forever to get to 10
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 26, 2009 -> 08:48 PM) Would it be fair to make Raiders and Lions posts go into the NCAA thread? I was thinking it should go in Stupid Hilarious videos in SLAM
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 26, 2009 -> 07:02 PM) maybe the can do cartwheels after catches. *fistpump*
  4. in regards to the Urban Meyer Notre Dame argument, im thinking maybe Urban Meyer wants a challenge again. The guy has proved he owns the SEC with Florida, he has won his titles and laid waste to pretty much everyone in his way. Maybe he wants to see if he can resurrect Notre Dame in a similar fashion, and ohbytheway still collect a massive paycheck. Just a thought
  5. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Nov 26, 2009 -> 05:52 PM) NFL likes to give the Cowboys easy games on Thanksgiving to make them look good. I'm sick and tired of watching the f***ing Cowboys every weekend, same goes for the Patriots. They like to set up matches to make the Cowboys win and the Lions lose. But I'm thankful for a Packers win. That part isnt so hard, it happens regardless

QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Nov 26, 2009 -> 03:48 PM) Ninja Assassin sucked large ninja balls. The computer did all the violence in it and made it teh suck. The Wachowski brothers never quite got back to the level that they were at with the Matrix. I enjoyed V for Vendetta, but there were still parts in that movie that pissed me off Should it be the Wachowski siblings now?
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 26, 2009 -> 02:01 PM) Things can change quickly. For instance if Oz wants to stay here, he might make sure his team appears to be playing with passion this year. I know that's very subjective, but we do often seem like dead men walking. I guess what I'm saying is we better win more if Oz wants to stay here. We keep hearing about all the talent we have and our team has pretty much been blah the past year and a half. Subjective? That doesnt make any sense at all. How do you make a team appear to be playing with passion? The team either performs or it does not. There is nothing Ozzie can do to make his players do anything while on the field, he puts them in position to succeed and once the first pitch is thrown it is up to them to perform up to their abilities.
  8. JR put up with many mediocre years out of Schueler and never canned him, Schueler left on his own terms. I think KW will do the same thing unless something extremely out of character and dramatic happens with him. JR loves the people around him, and they feel the same way about him.
  9. Wilson Valdez signed there today too. Its the White Sox all-time bench players going to Philly
  10. I wholeheartedly agree that he needs to prove it in the minors before he comes up, but it worries me that he would be proving it in Charlotte. It seems like good numbers in Charlotte never seem to translate in Chicago. Unless your name is Gordon Beckham, that is.
  11. AJ's durability is really the amazing thing about him. We have all seen him take foul balls off every conceivable body part and he just walks it off and puts the fingers down again. That being said, watch him get signed and go down with some freak injury
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 10:05 PM) The problem is people have been saying this for 3 years now. At some point, you just have to realize that he is what he is (incredibly inconsistent and frustrating). I wouldn't be opposed to a minor league signing, but I'd have to see consistent, lasting improvement before I would even consider bringing him to the big league club. Leo Mazzone had a shot at this kid and got nowhere, and I'm sure Jim Palmer has spent time with him. I just don't know how long you keep banging your head against the wall with a guy like this... I know, but everyone has been starting him. Some great relievers over the years were just horrid starters and found their niche as relievers. If it has been tried and he failed at that too, well that makes things a bit different.
  13. has there been any attempt to convert him to a reliever yet? The guy has an electric arm, maybe he just needs to utilize it differently. I am not opposed to seeing if he can be long relief or maybe even set-up if he can get his stuff together.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 06:47 PM) They always said about Quentin that those kind of hand injuries typically took one full season to heal...not unlike Tommy John, and that the second year was the bounceback year. Of course, there's no guarantee that the rest of CQ will be healthy and durable, but numbers in the mid-range between 2008 and 2009 would be great. hand injury? The wrist injury he should be back to full strength this year, I agree. Its the plantar fasciatis that bothers me, that could flare up at any time
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 06:45 PM) LMAO who is complaining? a "slight upgrade over Josh Fields" is a backhand slap to the face of Jones and you know it.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 06:19 PM) He probably is a slight upgrade over Josh Fields offensively for slightly more money, but nothing that can't be eaten. I'm shocked the Sox signed a Boras guy in November and Boras took it at this time. I do agree he appears to have had some help putting up numbers in the past. If anything he could be exhibit A to Bobby Jenks about what happens to guys who don't take their fitness seriously. Its a blah signing. I'm looking forward to the real moves. I'm just curious as to why the Rangers didn't want to bring him back. LMAO, there is just no pleasing you
  17. lol, JC is still putting up clever articles bashing on Vizquel, he hasnt even noticed that Jones is signed yet. His source must not of told him yet

  19. Love him or hate him, Martz has had some QBs under his tutelage that have put up some pretty big numbers. I dont know that it would be a wasted year in Cutlers career. But I agree, it is just a stopgap
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 11:04 AM) Was Rich Rod in the room? What kind of explaining would he have to do? Coaches always gotta do the 'splainin when the kids are busted. Just the way it is
  21. Rich Rod gonna have some more 'splainin to do, one of his players(still unnamed) busted for sexual assualt last night
  22. QUOTE (balfanman @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 10:05 AM) I just don't think that you can be sure of that in Dotels case. The worst that happens is he accepts, and while it is a little more expensive than you would of hoped for, you at least have a competant option for a second set up man which we do not currently have. The problem is that Dotel is not worth what he is going to be offered in arbitration, which is why the Sox will not offer it.
  23. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 09:16 AM) He has been here almost two years and it is a very valid point. Saying "you have lost all baseball credibility" is not a valid point. It is a condescending remark. The discussion about this is over.
  24. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 08:43 AM) Whatever baseball credibility you had is now gone. Look, you havent been here very long and posts like these from you seem to be the norm, stop with the condescending remarks.
