  1. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) Dayan is going to be Big Papi re incarnated... Wait... the JUICED Big Papi... not the one that wasnt juiced last year.
  2. Why wait til Christmas Eve? Is there something else that needs to be proved here?
  3. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 03:58 PM) NSFW: Couple Christens Dallas Cowboys Stadium's New Bathroom Stall Video and a pic at the link. This is from the first game at the stadium
  4. I actually have no problem with Bennett. He has hung on to the ball after taking some serious shots. I like what he has shown in his first actual year playing

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 12:15 PM) I'll only hate it if it sucks. I know you well enough ( I think) to suspect you have more respect for the pioneering Willis O'Brien and Ray Harryhausen stop motion animation than you're letting on. But if not, then backerdown, this fight can resume upon release date

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 12:12 PM) Ray Harryhausen will be 90 years old this June, and if the CG in this unnecessary remake sucks and it kills him I'm holding the movie and you responsible. I hold you and only you responsible for Bubo
  7. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 12:12 PM) Yeah, I meant that KW acquired Peavy with budget space that might otherwise have been used for Holliday. Had we not acquired Peavy, I have no doubt that we'd be in the hunt for Holliday or Bay. I doubt that very much. Boras doesnt come sniffing around the Sox front office with his high dollar pets

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 12:03 PM) Looks like it has potential or it could turn out to be a crappy movie version of the God of War video game. Have to agree with the youtube comment: f***ING HEAVY METAL IN MOVIE TRAILERS!!! *Stop* that s***! I like the look of the Kraken. I was wondering how it would be "re-imagined". Im sure flaxx will hate it because it doesnt look like a clay doll, but whatever

The new Clash of the Titans trailer looks awesome. Sorry FlaSoxx, it just is.
  10. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 07:49 PM) i understand the economics today and the sox not wanting to throw money out there, which i understand, however there are some interesting names out there that can be added to really strengthen the team. some of these players can be had for minor league contract, spring training invitees or downright reclamation and still help in the long run, esp in possible trade come mid season. last season showed us we need pitching depth that is ready to pitch in the majors. Kalapse listed them all in the Free Agent thread, some good discussion going on there
  11. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 07:26 PM) The Boras wall has been broken with Jones. Blue jeans and McDonalds and baseball players for everyone! Im sure Holliday is looking for a 1 year 5 million dollar deal with incentives. Thats something Boras likes to do
  12. QUOTE (b-Rye @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 06:59 PM) why not sign matt holliday and not trade any prospects.. he will be cheaper than agon in two years anyways. O RLY?
  13. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 06:11 PM) Understood. Still, I can't imagine any situation where Knox would have been able to make a play on that ball. He was already behind Collins and the pass was thrown on a line in Knox's direction, so it wasn't as if he was trying to lift the ball over the head of Collins. Even if Knox ran the wrong route, he wasn't in any position to catch the ball. Jay only looked to Knox on that play and should have seen Collins sitting on that route. The bottom line is that Jay has to throw that ball away. I'd really like to see the Bears bring in a teacher for Cutler who can get through to him and help him max out on his potential. Well if it was an In and Knox stayed in front of Collins than he would have been in position to make a play. It looked as if Cutler was thinking In and Knox was thinking Go Deep. The entire game Cutler was throwing to the back shoulder on the line. Like I said, unless Knox fesses up or Jay says something, it goes as a poorly thrown ball by Jay.
  14. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 04:54 PM) I'm still very much behind Jay Cutler, having said that (sorry larry david) I cannot defend that second interception. He eyeballed Knox the entire time, and there was absolutely no reason to throw the ball in that situation, it wasn't even a good defensive play. . . Jay threw the ball directly to Collins and Knox wasn't even in the vicinity. I believe that Jay has the ability to be one of the best quarterbacks in the league. . . but he is far from a finished product and may have been a little spoiled in Denver with that offensive line and those receivers. He needs to stop making the kind of decisions that cost the team points and victories. In addition to firing Ron Turner, I hope they fire Pep Hamilton as well. I don't know what role he plays as the QB coach, but he has failed to develop any player under his tutelage and I'd like to have someone spend time with Jay who can get into his head a little bit more. What a disappointing season. Billick was saying during the game that you just dont know if that is on Cutler or if it is on Knox for running the incorrect route in that situation. We wont ever know unless they come out and say it, but it doesnt matter it goes on Cutlers record
  15. QUOTE (Ranger @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) Isn't it likely that the Sox are seriously looking at both of these options? What's the harm in reporting that? eh, you know why we are peeved at him. If you talk s*** about someone for no reason, you should expect it to come the other way
  16. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 02:58 PM) I'm a huge Bears fan, but please stop blaming the refs. Refs are inconsistently bad throughout the league and the Bears are simply not a good team. The Bears totally earned this L, but that doesnt change the fact that Mike Carey is consistently incompetent. Whatever game he refs
  17. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 01:18 PM) Ok, i need a clarification: Can a coach challenge a play under 2 minutes in a half as long as the play started at or before 2 minutes to go? No, Challenges under 2 minutes are purely booth review.
  18. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 12:55 PM) I believe my comment was Getz > Gardner. I believe your comment was "we need a facepalm smiley" followed by "are we still talking about this? seriously?" and only then when me and SS2K5 told you to stop b****ing then you came up with your "Oh yeah Brett Gardner is god" comment. Im done asking you. Stop
  19. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 12:55 PM) worse job today: bears or officials? wrong thread?
  20. This team has no pride whatsoever. Not a clue
  21. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 10:31 AM) And your posts are helping? he at least argued the merits of the situation where you provided nothing. and still provide nothing. This topic is dead to you, stop commenting and ruining the thread, your opinion is known.
  22. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 10:45 AM) ...and Washington, Washington St., Stanford and USC. Yeah but the Pac10 makes no sense for them to join(despite the rivalries in place), where you could argue Big 10 and Big East due to rivalry and location. The question would be is the Big East looking to add another team, whereas the Big 10 is(we think)
  23. James Harrisons mother flipped the f*** out.
  24. Agreed DA, and Peavy was definitely a financially motivated deal on the part of San Diego
  25. Not so fast on the Lowell trade to the Rangers, his surgically repaired thumb might break the deal
