QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 01:59 PM) Hey they should be lucky, I bet if they were being given Red Dog or Keystone they might not even want to drink at all. Ah college frat parties, where you find out what truly is the cheapest worst beer. ......And then you drink and drink and drink that cheapest worst beer until someone goes on a beer run and brings back more cheap bad beer

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 06:51 PM) I understand that -- the talking-heads at ESPN are saying the same thing. But wouldn't that be pretty much the opposite of what Lovie has done in his tenure, which is stick by one guy through thick-and-thin? When he made the commitment to Griese a few weeks ago, he said it wasn't just a little fling, but rather a full-time switch. I'm not saying whether that's right or wrong, but it's just how I'm looking at it. Doesnt the whole thing seem orchestrated though? Isnt it wierd that on the very same week that Rex has his workload increased "just in case" that Brian Griese goes down with a vague shoulder injury? Strange coincidence

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 02:46 PM) Mario Galaxy tomorrow! Some are saying it's the best 3D platformer ever, including Super Mario 64 in that discussion. The videos on gamespot are amazing. It looks like a lot of fun

Doesnt this basically hand the starting Cubs CF job to Felix Pie?

A good healing ligament? WTF is that supposed to mean? The ligaments hold everything in place, if one is removed, isnt there extra stress on the remaining ligaments? Doesnt seem like a good idea to let him come back out with damage in his knee already, JMO

QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 11:24 AM) He actually played in Japan before the Yankees. He signed at 22 with the Yankees. Didnt he go to Japan so he could avoid the amateur draft and then sign with whomever he wanted(ie. paid him the most)? Just curious, I thought I remembered reading something like that

QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 11, 2007 -> 09:32 PM) I think I am becoming infatuated with Kim Kardashian. I don't know why, but I think she is sexy as hell. Why is she even a celeb? Her deceased father Robert Kardashian was a very famous lawyer. Something about an OJ case or something like that. So she is famous by osmosis/genes.

Looks like Adrian Peterson just had his knee blown up

I dont know, for some reason I think these new logos and unis look like the Milwaukee Brewers new logos and Unis

You should see what those mean loggers do to those trees, and what those cruel combines do to all that corn. The only thing I get from watching those videos is that those farmers need to be regulated and shut down for cruelty, it doesnt make me want to eat meat less, it just makes me angry that those animals have to suffer in that fashion while going through their short lives. There are plenty of farms that dont treat animals like that, and you never see videos of them.

Completely embarrassing to watch right now. 77-43 in the third quarter, Skiles sat his starters from 7:30 on.

QUOTE(Shadows @ Nov 10, 2007 -> 08:59 PM) haha, thats exactly what you did.. LOL, i was thinking the same thing. Maybe you are supposed to kind of keep the Sox roster intact, except drop all the bad players(which is the majority of last years team), and bring in players that are much better, but not all superstars, but some of them superstars, then call it your dream team.
-
Damn, Scott Skiles just did a 5 man substitution after the Bulls went down 52-31 starting the 3rd quarter. The starters have been pathetic

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 10, 2007 -> 08:05 AM) Ha, it's funny cause last night I was actually talking to one of my buddies about the exact same thing. When I was younger I actually got up much earlier than I had to, to make sure I got a whole episode of sportscenter in before school. Now, I couldn't care less if I watch it at all for the most part. I can watch highlights and get scores on the internet, ESPN just does nothing for me at the moment(outside of PTI). I still do watch it when I can as it's still the best overall place for highlights but I certainly don't make a point to watch it like I used to. I had my TV timer set as my alarm when I was a kid, sportscenter was my alarm clock pretty much. I knew if I saw the same highlight twice, It was time to get up. Steiner, Olberman and Patrick, Kilborn, Ley, Mayne, those guys were awesome back in the day.

QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 09:16 PM) Good job by the E to record their own footage of the interview in case something like what did happen, happened. I see where CNN took it out of context a bit, but for Cena to say he hasn't ever used steroids is BS in my opinion. Take him out of context a bit? They made it look like he completely dodged the question when he in fact answered the question. Whether you believe him or not isnt the point. And I agree, WWE was smart to videotape that interview and bust out CNN like that

When i was in 8th grade I sent a rookie card and a letter to Robin Ventura with Comiskey as the address, and he signed the card, sent back a letter of authenticity, and signed the letter and wrote a little note back to me. I got it back in 2 weeks

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 05:22 PM) That may be true, but wsf101's main point still holds true -- this Bulls team as currently constructed doesn't have a chance of winning a title, unless some major strides are made. And by major strides I mean Deng would have to elevate his game from 'pretty good' player to superstar, and I don't think that can happen with his (perceived) athletic ceiling. Tyrus Thomas would also have to become a dominant force down low on both ends. He'd have to develop a game on the post where, if there were two minutes left and the Bulls needed a bucket, they could give the ball to Thomas and be reasonably confident that he could make a move and score. It's quite dissappointing, really. The 'bad vibes' started when they inked Nocioni, a good bench player, to a contract that is too long and for too much money. I hope they don't make that same mistake with Gordon. Im not arguing that fact(in fact I agree that the Bulls need someone to put them over as well), im just saying that the label Tyrus is getting as a player with a poor work ethic is one that I dont see. we all know Skiles does not play people like that, no matter how much they are making(See Tim Thomas), and Tyrus is starting, so he must be doing something right
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) Tyrus and Deng are the only 2 players that could be really good on this team. If you can keep those 2 and acquire a big time player somehow, then your getting somewhere. But it's even iffy on Tyrus and Deng, but at least they COULD get championship good I suppose. It's just relying on a guy with a poor work ethic and another who's a poor athlete makes me nervous. I havent been able to find anything that has come from the Bulls brass indicating that Tyrus Thomas has a poor work ethic(and you know Skiles would rip him up), the only place I have heard it is through the media, and that is only because he didnt come to Chicago for his offseason workouts. This doesnt mean he has a poor work ethic, for all we know he was in the gym for 12 hours a day and going over tape for the rest of the day, we just dont know. To assume he has a poor work ethic is wrong if you ask me. He is still young and raw, and he is still learning. There is plenty of gaps in his learning curve right now, but he still has a world of talent to make up for those gaps. The kid went from a street baller 4 years ago, to a starter on his high school basketball team, to a starter on his college basketball team which was the runner-up to the national champs( he was a huge reason for that), to a top 5 draft pick, and now he is a starter his second year into the league. If his work ethic was really that bad, I think his career path would look a little different right now.

QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 10:32 PM) Ok, when did WCKG change formats? I heard about it going spanish but not soft rock. It is one of the reasons that the Bulls moved back to WMVP 1000. When the Bulls moved, I believe the format changed right around the same time. What a shame too, I still remember all of the commercials they used to run back in the day. They used to be a premier station in Chicago, now they have no true identity. I feel the same way about 94.7, there have been a few times over the years where the format they had was far and away better than anything else at the time, but they just changed formats again and lost all of their momentum.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 8, 2007 -> 07:14 AM) St. P paper still shows Sox as an interested party for Crawford. from the same article: The Twins would be winning that deal in a landslide if you ask me

A new kind of huffing. Why ANYONE would think to do something like this is totally beyond me. Absolutely revolting

Don Shula is intimating that should the Patriots win the Superbowl and go undefeated, Spygate should put an asterisk next to the record.
