i really havent gotten into the argument, i just have been watching the entire thing unfold because it is really interesting the way it has gone back and forth. I just found it curious that there are all these new guys jumping in to his defense, not that their opinions are wrong because they have a right to their opinion. Personally, I was ignoring the media watch and paying attention to the arguments. i really dont think the media watch is some sort of genius calculatory method to really finding out which team is more popular, its just another way for Hangar to express frustration at the Cubs. Carry on,

QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) Jerome Williams is the best option, and he's currently in AAA. IMO, he should have Rusch's spot and Rusch should be released. But in a year when postseason play is very unlikely, even Rich Hill and Juan Guzman are better options than Rusch because it'd help them evaluate their future roles in the organization. This Jerome Williams?(this years ML stats for Jerome williams) If I were Dusty (*shudder*) I would take my chances with Glendon Rusch.

QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 08:17 AM) I've always thought CSN has been very fair in it's coverage, if not more biased towards the White Sox. I don't watch ESPN anymore, I only watch CSN. Even Chicago Tribune Live has a lot of good Sox coverage. They call it like it is. Sox are going to make the playoffs, they're making a run for another World Series, they deserve coverage. The Cubs suck, they're almost in last place, and even if all their guys return from injuries they're still a 3rd place team at best. That's all you can ask for, now why can't other media outlets do the same? So shouldnt that be counted in the media count? lol These spillover threads are fun to watch usually. But they also get shut down fairly quickly too, which makes me sad....

QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 09:12 AM) You do know that Kalapse wasn't serious right? That is when Kalapse says to himself "another one bites the dust"

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 09:17 PM) When's that jag Barrett going to serve his suspension? The result of the appeal is supposed to be announced next week. Fine by me, I want his bat in there against the Tigers, Blanco is an automatic out.

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 05:09 PM) So Howard is streaming for free? LOL, I thought the same thing. followed by a "WTF?"

QUOTE(Dawgs @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 08:34 AM) How exactly has the White Sox schedule been rough compared to Detroits? From my prospective Chicago and Detroit have played similar schedules except the Sox have yet to face two of the best teams in the league. Home games vs. road games is the same. Here is the breakdown: TB- Det. 3, Chi. 3 Tor- Det. 3, Chi 6 KC- Det 8, Chi 9 Tex- Det 4, Chi 7 Cle- Det 10, Chi 10 Oak- Det 3, Chi 3 Sea- Det 3, Chi 5 LAA- Det 5, Chi 5 Cubs- Det 1, Chi 3 Min- Det 9, Chi 7 Balt- Det 2, Chi 0 Cin- Det 3, Chi 1 NYY- Det 4, Chi 0 Bos- Det 3, Chi 0 I see Detroit playing 7 games against the 2 best teams in the east and Chicago has yet to play them. Detroits played 2 more against Minnesota and the Sox 1 more against the worst team in baseball and 2 more against that western powerhouse, Seattle. Detroit has 3 down against Cincinnatti to the Sox 1, while the Sox have 3 against the Cubs to Detroits 1. The schedules are pretty much similar except for the glaring fact that Chicago has yet to play any games against 2 of the best teams in baseball. So quit with the homer bulls***. I bet after 162 games youd still be spouting how Detroits schedule was easier when in reality Chicagos had the easier go of it already in this season. Detroits for real. They arent going away. Wheres the June swoon you all forcasted? Has it been delayed until July or August? Has the pitching come to earth like you all said it would? Come back to reality. The Sox are in for a dog fight all season. And I dont think thier bullpen is up to the task. LOL, I love when people write "reality check" posts. They always crack me up

On Thursday morning I wanted to make a cd with some selections on my Ipod, so I went and downloaded some software called Eph-Pod. It seemed like a nice program, it was really user friendly and I had no problems removing songs and placing them on my computer. I made my cd, went to Itunes and ejected my Ipod grabbed the cd and I was on my way to work. I am about a 1/4 of a mile away and grab my Ipod to put some music on. Nothing is there. I mean zip, zilch, nada, nothing. I scroll around, checking playlists, artists, albums, genres, composers, everything. I screamed like a little girl for about a mile, checked my ipod again, screamed some more, my eyes got blurry, I started blacking out, it was bad. For the entire day at work I sat there thinking about the 8 full days of music that I had lost in a blink of an eye, and I couldnt really figure out how I did it, although i was 100 percent positive that Eph Pod had something to do with it. I came home, docked my ipod and brought up Itunes. Now Itunes doesnt recognize the Ipod and wants me to reset all of the settings back to factory settings(which would delete everything on the HD). The heart palpatations started again, and I closed Itunes and opened up Eph Pod, hoping for the best. THANK GOD Eph Pod recognized the Ipod AND the songs that were still on the Ipod. I had to unload them on to the computer, reset my Ipod, and reload the songs onto the Ipod. All in all, i got off with what i consider to be a stern warning, but I got to recover my music which was very important to me. I am thinking that my troubles started because I had opened the Eph Pod and when the Ipod was docked, Itunes (by default) opened as well. I ejected my Ipod from Itunes, but I never did it with Eph Pod(only because the "do not disconnect" warning stopped flashing when I ejected from Itunes), and my music was sent to some sort of music pergatory until I saved it. If you must make a cd, I recommend CopyPod, not Eph Pod. Thats my suggestion. /end rant

Im just glad he shaved the Red Sawks mullet QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 07:49 AM) Absolutely, especially when you consider what Florida gave up for Ron Villione at the deadline last season. Suddenly, our bullpen has a lot more depth than a lot of other teams. Which makes me wonder why Riske was expendable to the Red Sox. Is their bullpen so good that they can cast off Riske for a minor leaguer? I wonder how cleveland feels about a key member of their lights-out bullpen last year playing for the Sox?

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) I am a fan of the White Sox. I will never root for the cubs. If this were the last weekend of the season my answer would be different. We are still in June. Im not going to try and tell you that you are wrong, your opinion is your opinion. However, I believe we learned last year that the games in June were just as important(if not more important) than the games in late september. I dont want the Cubs to win so that the Cubs and Cubs fans can feel good about themselves, I want the Cubs to win so the Sox can feel good about passing the Tigers by the end of the series.

damn, the fire breathing heathen brings respekt back to the thread. And it was just getting good too

QUOTE(Felix @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 07:21 AM) He's probably talking about against those teams in the 32 game stretch, rather than all year. I could be wrong though. Even if he is talking about it that way, the way he wrote it could be construed both ways. And besides that point, Perry remains a douche'...

Im really surprised that no one called this out yet Sox record vs listed teams DET 5-1 CLE 5-7 TOR 4-2 OAK 3-0 TEX 4-3 CIN 1-0 22-13 Not to mention the Sox havent played the Astros or Cardinals yet, so its kind of hard to put those teams on this list

QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 03:48 AM) LOL! I still think there should be a shirt that says on the front "You have Wood" with a Cub logo, and on the back "How Embarrassing"

QUOTE(TLAK @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 05:22 AM) When ever Zoomer gets in a game he always does something you remember. It's not always good, but you always remember him. This year I cannot recall Pablo screwing up more than 1 or 2 times. Honestly Pablo has been the biggest catalyst for the team. We can say "Sure, he is facing lefties and that helps him...", but look at the lefties he is sent in to hit against. Santana, Sabathia, probably Randy Johnson when they play NY. Pablo hits great lefties very well, and that shouldnt be overlooked. He bunts well, he has been stealing bases, and everywhere Ozzie has put him this year defensively he has been adequate. Aside from the KC game earlier this year, Pablo has held his own in left. He still has a messed up approach to left field, but his instincts are shortstop instincts all the way. LOL, when he made that diving catch yesterday he looked like he was diving onto the infield grass trying to catch a pop-bunt. I have become a huge Pablo fan this year.

QUOTE(juddling @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 04:50 PM) While at SIU in the late 80's and early 90's i got to meet a few 'famous' musicians. The coolest one( in my mind) was Tom Petty. He was setting up for his show and i saw him just walking around strumming his guitar watching his raod crew. Talked to him for about 30 minutes. Though he didn't take the hint i dropped about having no tickets for the show. also at SIU, he isn't a muscian but he was in concert....i was walking through the woods with my head down not watching where i was going when i ran into a HUGE guy who knocked me on my ass. i got up ant saw it was 3 HUGE guys and when i muttered an apology , Eddie Murphy poked his head out of the crowd and said "It's cool...you all right?" I got an autograph...it was cool. Ha, when I was at SIU I had my small moment as well. There was a band that had decent mainstream success called Revis, their record was released in 2001 I believe, and they had a single that was on the Daredevil Soundtrack(Caught in the Rain) and it was also on MLB2K1 IIRC. In 2000 I lived with the lead guitarist, Robert Davis. I can honestly say that I have never partied THAT MUCH in such a small period of time. It was very cool though, i got to see them go through the process of being discovered by an agent from Cali and all the way through them getting signed with Epic Records. And I was thanked in the band notes on the sleeve of the album, which still makes me smile.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 02:13 PM) What?!? Who said that?!? No it doesn't!! Does it?!? s***!!! aaaaw man, does that mean i am going to be like Hangar someday? Im quittin now, thats just not cool. I am dumber for reading the responses by Hangar in this thread, but everyone else gets an A+ in debate class for the past two days. This thread is freaking hilarious. Even Steff swore, I rarely see that. Of course I rarely set her off like Hangar did..... QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 06:16 PM) Another member of the 'Cubsessed' group? I would make him President and slide CTF over to vice....

QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 02:36 PM) maybe you dont remember the meltdowns he had against the Sox when he was with the Twins I sure do the only meltdowns I recall are when he started against the Sox. I rarely remember him having meltdowns when he was the set-up man for Guardado. He seemed pretty automatic to me back then, of course the Twins were spanking the Sox left and right.....

QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) Haha, naw, just tweaked. A new shortstop, batting coach, third baseman, announcers and centerfielder is hardly tweaked.
