  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 08:30 PM) Meh. I've seen deer much worse in person. Yeah, we used to travel to the border of Wisconsin/Michigan(UP) to go fishing every year, and that was pretty common. Truck drivers are instructed to not slow down and swerve if a deer gets in their way, and those things just get obliterated. And then the rest of the traffic mows over it, and by the end of the day you have an unrecognizable lump of muscle and fur.
  2. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 08:20 PM) Ricky Gervais. From what I understand, he is just as involved in the US version (behind the camera that is) as he is in the UK version of the show. He is very funny, no doubt. I love Steve Carell though. That guy came out of nowhere to be my favorite comedian, starting with his scene on "Bruce Almighty" where Jim Carrey manipulated the words coming out of his mouth during a news broadcast. Then it was one thing after another, Anchorman, 40 year old virgin, The office....
  3. Since Steff got a little guff for bringing this up in the "Office Space" Thread, and I also love the US version of the Office, I thought a poll was in order for this show. The show started kind of slow in its first season, but season two has been getting better and better. Everyone seems to be easing into their roles and the characters are all being developed. And last nights show was hilarious, Steff. When Jim told the "Whats up Dog?" joke, and Michael couldnt get it right I was laughing my ass off.
  4. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 05:46 PM) On PTI today Wilbon was really making fun of Theo and all the media he gets. It's true too. I knew it was out of control when Boston had that game where Theo and Gammons had a concert and jammed out before a game. Then Theo ascended to Rock Star status, which was quickly followed by me vomiting. :puke
  5. Axelrod was just on Chicago Tribune live as a guest. The kid is definitely getting swept up in his 15 minutes.
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) This is without a doubt the toughest category to pick from. I will say I am surprised that Juggernaut is not getting more support for the body of his work during the season and in SLaP. Maybe I just dont browse The Filibuster enough, but Juggs has been pretty absent for the past month or so from SL&P
  7. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 03:47 PM) I saw the title about a whale in a river and it made me think of it. Never seen a whale in a lake or stream though. Especially in Ohio... There was a newspaper article that came out a couple of years ago that listed all kinds of off the wall laws that were never changed or removed through the passage of time, and most of them were hilarious. There is some town where the newly elected mayor is supposed to recieve his choice of the towns daughters and livestock from the farmers(probably where the Simpsons got it from, anyone remember the monorail episode where Quimby and Chief Wiggum are going over the city charter?), and some places where horse carraiges are illegal. All kinds of funny stuff.
  8. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) Not to mention the whole ordeal when they pissed the Chairman off when they interviewed him. "They conducted the interview under false pretenses" coming right from Jerry's mouth. Reinsdorf hasn't done an interview with ESPN 1000 since I believe, and along with Moronotti's show one would have to think these incidents at least contributed to losing the broadcast liscensing for the Sox and Bulls. Carmen and Silvy did not contribute to ESPN1000 losing the broadcasting rights to the Sox and Bulls, thats just silly. Sure, they pissed off Jerry Reinsdorf at the time, but I dont think Jerry was that pissed that he would carry a vendetta against them and get them taken off the air. Its a ratings thing in radio. If you have them, you are all good. If you dont, you dont have a job.
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) Yea... it's a shame more females can't be more like me. :rolly Thats all i ask. We all know that women are a bit crazy, and we can take it. Just admit it, thats all.
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) Ameriquest is a crooked ass company. Thats all I'm going to say about that. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 01:40 PM) But as Balta showed they are in legal trouble (Ameriquest) and they are total freaking crooks and scumbags. Just my 2 cents. Its not due to rates. But I thought that was all you were gonna say? After a few months of working there, i realized that T&C wasnt the best in the business, but they paid the bills and had a freaking awesome insurance policy for me and my family. Sure, they laid me off, but like I said earlier my severance package was pretty nice for a guy who didnt even get a full 8 months working there.
  11. When I first saw this, I thought about the movie "Dickie Roberts, Former Child Star". Quite possibly one of the worst ideas in David Spades head, yet there are still a few moments in the movie when I laughed my ass off. There is a scene where all these former child stars including Leif Garrett, Danny Bonaduce, Emmanuel Lewis, Corey Feldman and Dustin Diamond get together and b**** about their lives, Its really funny. Leif Garrett gets arrested at the end of the movie too.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 12:59 PM) I'm sure if she admits she lied and is in fact a raging lunatic he'll be happy. Hahaha, a woman admitting she is a raging lunatic. That'll be the day
  13. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 11:17 AM) This doesn't surprise me. I can't stand that whining little b**** boy that goes by the name of Silvy. He really annoys me. LOL. Silvy had to eat alot of his words this year. Carmen had a hell of a year to enjoy, and Silverman had to just sit through it. He is a true pessimist though, he isnt a flip-flop cub fan who goes just to drink. He actually has some intelligent things to say, but those things are tempered by his loyalty to the Cubs, and it makes him sound really whiny.
  14. QUOTE(Confederate_48 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 10:29 AM) Good luck with that Yeah, who would want one of the best wide recievers in the game?
  15. QUOTE(kevin57 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 10:01 PM) I have to confess (hehe) that I'm not 100% up-to-date on the, what I think are, various forms of "morning after" pills. If such a pill would simply prevent conception (sperm meeting ovum), then 'okay.' If it would prevent implantation (fertilized egg from uterine wall), then not so 'ok.' http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/sex_relationshi...ngafterpill.htm hope that helps.
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 11:42 AM) So then they could do it by removing onepeat.com? Then I say it is a done deal. It looks like the site was only started to set the record straight and to get money for the billboard. I dont know. I cant argue this anymore, Im not a copyright/trademark/patent lawyer. I have maintained that I want to see it happen, i just dont think it will.
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) Im going to go ahead and throw my hat into the ring for the show. I think I could being alot of local flavor. Hey, I worked 4 years on-air in carbondale. Lets rock this town.
  18. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 10:58 AM) If it dies maybe Greenpeace will haul it over to drop of at the Japan embassy building. What are you talking about? Norway is on the way with their harpoons ready to slay that b**** and put it on a plate!
  19. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 10:41 AM) Why don't they just put on the Herd? Please god I hope we dont have to listen to his neverending nasal drip. Besides, ESPN1000 wants local guys, they cant be syndicating all but two shows in their lineup.
  20. Yeah, he was in bad shape when they rounded him up two days ago. I saw him on Entertainment Tonite, and standing in his prison jumpsuit getting charged by the judge he looked like he wanted to crawl in a hole and hide. Heroin does some pretty bad things to people
  21. I was reading the story about Jimmy Piersall on chicagosports.com, and I noticed this blurb at the bottom. Just as I was getting to really like those two, ESPN pulls the plug. I hate the cutthroat nature of the radio business, noone ever gets any decent time to gel and become cohesive with the person they are working with. Radio gives you a quick second, then the hook if you dont do well in the ratings. Its really too bad, I like both of those guys alot, and together they were starting to sound so much better. Gotta love the random arbitron ratings ruling the roost.
  22. This has to be the biggest NON story ever. All of the major networks are fawning over this like he is bringing every all-star with him. Theo is good, but he isnt a great GM.

  24. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 01:40 AM) Wouldn't he be about $10,000 short? Not specific to this game, but I always laugh when I read about an inbalance in free throws and it somehow implies the refs did a bad job. If the free throws should balance, why not just issue them before the game? Sometimes one team does commit more fouls, doh! I dont really like complaining about fouls either, because the Bulls as a team are not good at drawing fouls while attempting shots, but I will have to say that Kirk Hinrich gets killed in the lane almost every night and rarely gets calls. Skiles goes absolutely apes*** when it happens too, I usually notice when Red and Dore start talking about him.
  25. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 01:21 AM) It certaintly disproves any notion he was intoxicated--as AD indicated. The fan didn't appear drunk on the video. Honestly, I'm just looking forward to latest opinions from the NBA analysts who were incredibly quick to defend Antonio Davis. They were unwilling to even suggest his wife may have been the one responsible for starting the altercation. It was, "David Stern is being a bully and suspending Davis for defending his wife." What, did everyone forget his wife is a crazy b****? Not that it is a fact, but during his interview on the news tonite he maintained that he didnt drink at the game, and NEVER drinks at games. Of course, the guy who threw the cup of beer at artest in Detroit didnt admit it until he was brought before a judge with video evidence.
