  1. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 26, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) Why do I get the feeling that even if we got all the guys he wanted, Anthrax would still find a way to hate Kenny? Its not a feeling. Its the truth.
  2. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 26, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) Carlton chose who "his" team and who "his" fans were when he chose which cap he wore into the hall of fame. I don't think it's too far-fetched to feel betrayed by that decision. Is he that vindictive that he needs to punish an entire city for the actions of an asenine owner? Uh, okay. I'm done. Wait a second, Carlton Fisk never once punished the White Sox fans. You are acting as if he did this to deliberately upset the White Sox fans. This is not the case. Fisk knows White Sox fans love him. Going into the HOF as a member of the Red Sox doesnt mean he is s***ting on White Sox fans, he isnt turning his back on us. He is choosing not to give Jerry Reinsdorf the satisfaction of saying "I got Carlton Fisk into the hall of fame." I cannot blame him for that. Fisk has made a few appearances in Chicago and I think I saw him on tv last year at a Sox game. He does what he can. Let it go.
  3. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 26, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) I felt he disowned us when he went into the Hall of Fame as a Red Sox. I kind of resent him for that, and whenever someone asks me to make an "all-time" list or list my 5 favorite players, I always leave him off intentionally. I know I'll probably get lynched for this POV, but anyone else feel like he took out his battle with mgmt on the fans? Didn't he have more tick and play more games in Chicago overall? Imagine how Fisk felt when the Sox dumped him on his ass with no warning? I loved Fisk, and he was great for the organization. But try and think of the most memorable Fisk moment ever, and you would be hard-pressed to not remember him in a Red Sox uniform hitting his famous homerun.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 26, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) wow, this thread quieted down in a hurry Logic reigns supreme?
  5. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 26, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) You seem to think our 33 and 14 start has everything to do with our manager and nothing to do with the GM, so in your logic, this is possible. LOL
  6. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) 1. Yes 2. Yes Also.. Not only am I a SoxTalk poster I am also a Gott, to bad they don't exist. really? Where?
  7. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) For some reason I find it hard to believe that Roger would have ever signed with the Chicago White Sox Actually, there was strong interest in the Clemens camp. Shueler nixed it because he thought Clemens was done. Clemens went on to Toronto on the cheap and the rest is history.
  8. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) Was our current GM a GM before? Do you have to be a GM to get a GM job? I can play that game too. Did i say that you said the Sox were getting Shuerholz? Did i say that you said you have to be a GM to get a GM job?
  9. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) Where did I say in my post that I thought we would get Scheurholtz? you didnt. You inferred that someone (anyone) in Atlanta's upper management was waiting to be scooped up by the Sox. Shuerholz is the only GM they have had there for the past 15 years..... the dots were connected. I love it when you make a statement and back off of it three posts later.
  10. QUOTE(Princess Dye @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) i dont remember him being any faster than 93-94 back then, right really? I could swear i remember him jumping into the 96-97 range, but I could be mistaken. I can always tell when Damaso is "on" when his left arm is whipping around after he pitches. He has taken his game up a notch in the past 3 weeks, thats for sure.
  11. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:45 PM) Anthrax- How can you say KW hasnt done a fine job.... Our minor league system is pretty solid and we have the best record in baseball.. If Frank& Mags didnt get hurt last we would have made the playoffs look at the thread "there is a trade brewing..." he says "KW hasnt done a fine job" a whole lot. he doesnt explain it outside of complaining that KW didnt sign his guys, but he says it alot.
  12. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) I say never had the sox had a good GM, If they were smart, we fire KW.. And look into Atlanta system to find our next GM, you don't win 13 straight DIV titles on luck. Gotta hand it to you Anthrax, you have all your players handpicked, and now you have your GM handpicked. Damn that reality for standing in the way..... :banghead
  13. this year the Sox are really pulling out the 90's for all to see. Donn Pall, Blackjack, Robin ventura, Mike Huff in the booth. Rock Raines, Cora, Baines, Guillen on the field. Im loving it
  14. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) depending on how this year's final outcome is will be my answer. I would lean towards kenny though. I think Anthrax is the best GM. Ever.
  15. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 10:33 AM) Wow before the season the same could have been said about AJ..Great insight to nothing. AJ got anonymously ripped in the paper. Guillen got kicked off of his team. See a little bit of a difference?
  16. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 26, 2005 -> 10:27 AM) Dont forget Renteria being much better than Tejada. And lets not forget we should have traded Kong for Gibbons and Roberts.
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 26, 2005 -> 09:42 AM) The pope's voice is high pitched and whiny, I cant stand him. Actually, watching the game under a slight influence, I noticed he sounded like Sylvester the Cat. Thats just me though
  18. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) NEWSFLASH we were #2 last week as well this is true. It remains a travishamockery.
  19. Kenny has been due against the Sox for his whole career. He still whips our arse every chance he gets. Slow curve, slower curve, even slower curve. Its not power pitching, but it works.
  20. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:43 AM) Im looking forward to hearing Mcdowell in the booth tonight growning up he was one of my favorite players... Kenny Williams will also be in the booth Does this mean that DJ and the Pope are not going to be talking? Fantastic!
  21. I guess it is a bit petty, but I dont see any real reason that the Sox should have been dropped to the 2 spot by the cardinals. the only reason I see the Sox dropping is because ESPN predicted that the Cardinals would overtake the Sox for the top spot. The ESPN pundits couldnt have made their prediction wrong, that would be silly. So the team with the best record in the Majors is now the second best team in the Majors. makes perfect sense!
  22. QUOTE(HSC's Biggest Fan @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:31 AM) We may miss the Gambler again barring a rain-out. Who do we face in that series? I was just reading something the other day that said 4 pitchers from the Rangers staff last year have had tommy john surgery since the season ended. Not a good stat to have.
  23. QUOTE(mreye @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:29 AM) Why do we worry about this? I got sick of reading about Anthrax's GM moves. So I found something else to occupy my time. If we arent worrying about something or another on this site, what are we doing? Not too much.
  24. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?p...powerrank_week8 ESPN proves itself amateurs once again. No reasoning whatsoever, they just jockey people back and forth.
  25. it looked like iguchi was on a delayed steal or something, he was past halfway to second base.
