That was one hell of an effort from the starting staff these past 3 games. I love our pitching!

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) He can go 40 easy. He pitch in the high 30's a week or so ago. K'd him. i agree, Didnt he go 3 innings in that extra inning fiasco against the Twins last week?

We need to give Geoff Blum a huge hand. That guy has caught a ton of s*** for not being Ken Griffey Jr at the deadline, and he has been nothing short of solid for his short stay with the Sox. His defense has been superb, and now his bat is starting to come around.

I wish I could explain what happened, but i am listening to the game. rooney and farmer are not happy, they said Michael Ryan hit a ball in foul territory off Konerko, and it was called fair

Wrong Lefty?
QUOTE(spiderman @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) Why would the Padres, currently up in the division by 6 games, trade one of their few offensive weapons ? Plus, if they were open to trading him, wouldn't they want major league talent back ? Im just mentioning it because the Cardinals tried to trade for him. The Padres may be up 6 games, but they are in the worst division by far in the league. Maybe they want to try and get something for him while they can and go young for the rest of the season into the playoffs. i know they really like Xavier Nady, and he gets shuffled around alot. Maybe they just want to get him out there. Like I said, complete speculation. But the rumor mill is swirling with alot of that lately

Wrong Lefty?
This is nothing but complete speculation on my part, and I have found no connection between the Sox and Padres on a potential trade, but I found this online today and couldnt help but think, what if KW is trying to get Brian Giles? I certainly would love to have him on the team, the guy can really hit. Looks like multiple teams are after him.

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) And half of his legal problems have never even made the press.. A shame. There are problems outside of trying to run over a judge on a beach and 2 DUI's? Do tell.- Ace's being Ace's
If you add Contreras' sunday start against the Yankees, this is the line for the 3 starters 24 IP, 3 ER, 18 H, 2 BB, 14 K Thats some great numbers. Averaging 8 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, .66 BB, and 4 Ks. And a One Hitter with a loss. :banghead- Curt.. STFU.
Rafael Palmeiro needs to make his results public if he wants to clear his name in whatever way. Everyone says he used a "bad" steroid, but noone has seen any results about anything. It would certainly clear my mind a little more. I dont remember Schilling as being such a Gossip Queen and Mr. Controversy until he got to Boston. Did he have an hourlong spot on a radio show when he was in Philly or Arizona?- Ace's being Ace's
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 08:01 AM) Just want to get some luv out to the pitchers for the last two starts. Check out this stat line 16 IP, 2 ER, 7 H, 2 BB, 9 K Severe ownage alert!!! We all raved about Garcia, but how about Mark Buehrle being the student of the game. He sits there and watches Johan Santana absolutely punish hitters with the best change in the game, and something suddenly clicks... He goes back and watches tape of Johan pitching and realizes that he has been easing up on his change up and tipping it off to hitters. Its not a deadarm, its mechanics. Mark makes sure to finish his change like a fastball, and nobody could get a solid read on him all night. He gives up one run in 8 innings to LeCroy, but couples that with 4 double plays turned, and no walks to go with his 6 strikeouts. Look out MLB, if Garcia and Buehrle pitch like this in October, you are all in some trouble. I think you should add Contreras' numbers against the Yankees to this composite. The past 3 starts have been phenomenal. - Sidney Ponson
