Rapper Shot
QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 10:00 AM) Laying on the couch with a hangover one Sunday afternoon the remote fell off the table and being too lazy to get up to pick it up.. I watched that also. Scary is right. Extremely sad to see that harmless little child grow up into what he is today. You know their shady lawyer, David Kenner? Currently, that guy represents Maurice Clarett. When you think about all the bad decisions Clarett has made in the past 3 years, it all sort of makes sense.

QUOTE(bmags @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) ssweet...i loved that doc "dig"...i really didn't listen to them until then, i'd been a dandy warhols fan for a while... i first read that as tom petty with the black crowes as like his new backing band Are you pumped about "The odditorium...." which is coming out next month? I thought that the Warhols were awesome when they came out, and have gotten progressively better each album. I still havent seen them live, but they seem like they would be really fun.

Rapper Shot
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) not true for all rappers. Listen to OutKast, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, and others. Actually Gangsta Rap was originally designed to bring awarness to all the bad things that were happening in the Ghetto. Outkast is more hip-hop than rap. And i dont really think LL Cool J was considered Gangsta Rap either. Suge Knight is nothing but a bully who has been in the right place at the right time all too often(business-wise). I watched the Documentary about Death Row Records(the life and death of death row). What an eye opener, absolutely scary s*** went down in that place.

Cedric Benson finally signed
QUOTE(WSNS-TV44 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 09:36 AM) Agreed. He's a great RB,but like someone said, the offensive line is paper thin.Jones is not great, but good enough. Ced Benson, glad he signed. But now,he better get his ass in gear.He already did his Curtis Enis-like holdout,I hope he doesn't play like him too. No, the O-Line WAS paper thin. I dont believe it is anymore. In fact, I think its gonna be very good this year.

Griffey Jr.: 'I'm not going' to the White Sox
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 09:22 AM) He really seems to just absolutely make things up...and he is respected by all these stations and networks...unreal. name me a credible baseball guy who has the same, or similar job as Bruce Levine. All those guys get the same rap, they throw a bunch of s*** against the wall to see what sticks. Its what they do, every single one of them. Bruce is no different, he is the Cubs version of Peter Gammons(without the salmon colored suits). Sometimes he is right, but it is few and far between, just like Gammons.

Griffey Jr.: 'I'm not going' to the White Sox
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 09:20 AM) im not sure we couldnt at least get the deal considered again if we wanted to take his whole contract. Desperate times call for desperate measures. KW and JR have to want the best team available for the playoffs. Come on JR, Win or Die Trying.

Mike Remlinger
Did he have elbow or shoulder surgery with the cubs? Either way, he hasnt been close to the same as he was before his surgery since it was performed. I remember when the White Sox went to Atlanta, I think in 01, They lost I believe 3-2 to Greg maddux. Remlinger came in for the 7th, and just flat out dominated everyone who stepped in the box.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) If you look at my total posts, I have not even come close to 1 billion posts. I don't see how it is possible that I have posted that even close to 50 billion times along with the other sane individual. by the way, Griffey isnt coming to Chicago! /insert rimshot

Cedric Benson finally signed
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 08:17 AM) Well Thomas Jones is Thomas Jones, he's not in the top half of starting RB's in the league, hence why they drafted Benson. And yeah he could be good enough to be the 2nd coming of Tomlinson, no-one's seen him in a NFL game yet so it's a bit early to be maing judgements, but Tomlinson was the #5 pick, Benson #4. With Ron Turner going with a power running game, Benson will probably be the starter by mid - season I'd think. Jones is quite injury prone, so that can't be ruled out either. If Thomas stays healthy(which is a big IF for any running back, and a little moreso for Jones) I predict a big year from him. He almost made 1000 last year and he missed alot of time.

Cedric Benson finally signed
You guys are crazy if you think that Benson is just going to push Thomas Jones to the backburner. I think Jones is going to be getting 80 percent of the snaps for the first half of the year, and Benson will be eased into getting 40 percent of the snaps towards the end of the year. Benson clearly hurt his value to the team by missing so much time, and unless he is the second coming of Tomlinson(doubtful), I see no reason to expect so much from him so soon. To all of you fantasy footballers who drafted Jones as a serviceable RB, I wouldnt be hasty to dump him right now. I actually think he molded himself very well to the offense. Not to mention that he is fast and strong, and as quick as a waterbug. It will be nice to spell Jones with a powerback like Benson, but I think it will be a little while.

Griffey Jr.: 'I'm not going' to the White Sox
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) How much clearer can he be? Some of you are living in some serious denial, he's not coming get over it! QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 07:22 PM) kill me now, God. I cant wait until its over. Then I can stop listening to you two whine about everyone talking about it. Seriously, if you dont want to think that its possible, than stay away from the thread. You have made your point, you both dont believe its happening, I heard it the 1st 50 billion times.

SIU newspaper hoax
I have read Kodee Kennings stories many times. But I thought it was more of a deliberate hoax, i never thought any of the stories were actually written by a little girl whose father was in Iraq. Its a shame that everyone was duped, and apologies were necessary.

Nomar at 3rd
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) Wow! Talk about overexaggerating. If you really would be upset if the Sox traded Matt Smith for Nomar, is that a personal attack? Im not sure you should be pretend-hitting me with a chair. I live vicariously through smileys. it wasnt so much an overexageration as it was a point. I dont really think Nomar's positives outweigh his negatives anymore. Of course, anyone can have a comeback in their career. i just dont think Nomar is worth much at this point, and the Cubs should have to live with his contract.

Curt.. STFU.

Nomar at 3rd
QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) What if the one player was timo? timo may catch alot of s*** on this board, but Timo has played more games in the past 2 years than Nomar has. I would be pissed if the Sox traded Matt Smith for nomar, much less Timo Perez

Nomar at 3rd
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) Oh, I don't know. Because we'd be able to offer a very solid package, and there are no ill effects from a trade due to the teams only playing 6 games against each other during interleague play. Not like it's KC or Minnesota where they are trading us a guy that is not only hurting themselves by helping an opponent, but also by helping that opponent that is playing them 19 times during the year. You say that like the teams would never make a trade. I don't see Nomar coming here...way too much of a risk, and there is just no need for him with his pricetag being as high as it inevitably is. I don't want him at all. The Cubs would be lucky to get a bucket of balls for Nomar at this point. he is the biggest health questionmark in the league right now. Unless Nomar has another .330 year next year with 30+ homeruns and 100+ RBI, I really dont see him signing any huge contracts anymore. If the White Sox attempted to acquire Nomar for one player, I would be pissed. If the White Sox offered a package for Nomar, I would be furious.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) Shouldn't Timo play Enis? I dont think Jeb grasps the relationships between the White Sox players like we do. he just put a face in there that was recognizable.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) no reply. How can he possibly reply? he has to know that his article and poll are absolutely ludicrous and baseless. He listed former flame-throwers and Duaner Sanchez, and tried to tell us that these are the best of the best.
