  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 1, 2016 -> 06:34 AM) Do you believe the White Sox prefer for their players to be openly political? It's probably not very helpful from a public relations standpoint to criticize the most famous White Sox fan in the world...many would see it as disrespectful. I don't really see Beckham inviting George Bush to his wedding as an openly political statement, and I don't really see it running parallel with Eaton either
  2. Good story about Gordon Beckhams wedding invites. Compelling and rich
  3. http://deadspin.com/the-best-of-mlb-photo-...2016-1761363431 Hamilton looks WASTED
  4. the highlight of the combine is Rich Eisens commentary after Chris Jones' junk fell out of his pants doing the 40 yard dash
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 29, 2016 -> 09:20 AM) When Dan Bernstein turns something into a controversy you know its nothing. WHo f***ing cares. Did he change positions? Because his response earlier was to say that it wasnt a controversy Dan Bernstein ‏@dan_bernstein 1m1 minute ago For all those asking, I have no reason to think @AdamSpankyEaton meant any genuine ill will at any point tonight. Be cool.
  6. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Feb 29, 2016 -> 08:57 AM) Can we lock this thread before it gets out of hand? no
  7. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 26, 2016 -> 04:38 PM) @RapSheet Difficult day for #NotreDame LB Jaylon Smith, who had his medicals. Ankle & knee nerve issues, teams believe he's out for 2016 -- at least Sounds like Smith was just hoping for the best. Sucks, he was going to be a really good player. It does suck. You just can't hide that stuff like he was trying to, the doctors will find it
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 26, 2016 -> 03:46 PM) Interesting. I know Hoge had reported that Jeffrey was not yet tagged (contrary to Schefty's report). Schefter hasn't been on the ball with Jeffrey. Just a few weeks ago he was reporting that the Bears were considering letting him walk
  9. QUOTE (gatnom @ Feb 26, 2016 -> 09:06 AM) Only if they're good enough to warrant it, usually. True, but Manziel is big name
  10. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Feb 25, 2016 -> 10:14 PM) Johnny Manziel to the grand jury for Domestic Violence. He's done in the NFL. never underestimate the NFLs ability to welcome back big name criminal douchebags with open arms
  11. ummmm i just got a MLB push notification that says cubs signed Fowler to a one year deal with a mutual option for 2017
  12. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 25, 2016 -> 11:12 AM) I have plenty of problems with the Packers totally ignoring free agency. I think that's a problem they have right now. It's not just them that build through the draft though. Most of the better teams the past ten years have drafted well and avoided spending big money in free agency, but it seems like every off season the teams that sign the most free agents and spend the most money on big name players are said to have done really well and are "improving". They are usually picked to make the playoffs or be much better then the year before. Then they finish 6-10 or 5-11 and rinse and repeat. The bears havent won free agency or spent the most money yet, and you are already criticizing it as if they did. Lets just wait before you can declare this rinse and repeat, especially since they didnt do that last season
  13. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 25, 2016 -> 10:49 AM) Teams spending tons of money in free agency doesn't always translate to getting better. Most of the time it's the opposite. We understand the Packers build from the draft. You dont seem to understand that a team cannot just snap its fingers and start doing the same thing, and the Bears need to plug holes. They also, fortunately have 9 picks this draft, so they can start getting younger asap.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 24, 2016 -> 03:41 PM) I've been reading Balta's posts about Republican platform of racism which makes me shake my head. But it got me to thinking about the Clinton's relationship with African American voters. It's the stuff of which landslides are made. Once Bernie is done and drops out, there's gonna be the biggest lovefest in political history regarding Hillary and how everybody (cept young women) love her. Folks, if it is she vs. Trump, Trump's head is going to explode over the coverage of the election. It's gonna be entertaining. Get ready for fireworks. If I'm posting too much about Hillary let me know. I just sense the biggest landslide in presidential election history coming up. Remember, once Bernie is out, the Democrats WILL rally from all nooks and crannies to sing her praises. That's why some of us call it a "coronation." We passed that point a long time ago, told you, and you continued.
  15. Good luck playing the savior role. Been there, wasn't worth it
  16. #Bears GM Ryan Pace says they are actively negotiating w/ WR Alshon Jeffery. Says Tag still an option. Pace: #Bears never made an offer to RB Matt Forte. Told him their decision out of respect for him. Pace: "We like Shea (McClellin)", also said they "like" Zach Miller & have had negotiations. Nothing sounded close, though. #Bears Pace: I sense he wants to be here" Re: Alshon Jeffery. #Bears #Bears seem to continue to be high on Shea McClellin. As I said during the season, I'd be shocked if he isn't brought back. Absolutely no mention of TE Martellus Bennett. #Bears Seems to be a growing feeling that TE Zach Miller will hit FA. Mutual interest in coming back but will be his only sizable contract Opp Pace saying he feels Charles Leno is a "natural fit" at LT tells me Long stays at RT. Could draft competition for Leno. RG big need. #Bears #Bears GM Ryan Pace has said they'll use the tag if needed. Until the deadline, it's not needed. No player has been tagged yet. Very telling #Bears HC John Fox says that 2015 1st rounder Kevin White has been medically cleared. Fox said it was best for both sides on Forte's departure. #Bears Both Ryan Pace & John Fox with high praises for new OC Dowell Loggains. #Bears #Bears HC John Fox also declining to elaborate on TE Martellus Bennett's future. Got the same "He's under contract" response. #Bears HC John Fox said they are much "comfortable" w/ Cutler this year & also called him a "bright spot". Don't ever sheeshkabobble me again Chisoxfn
  17. Super windy in LitH but looks like we aren't going to get snow
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 24, 2016 -> 10:35 AM) What did Pace say today? Check out SoCals twitter
  19. I love the potential of Jaylon Smith but I will be really disappointed if the Bears have another redshirt first round pick
  20. @rich_campbell Bears GM Ryan Pace indicated TE Zach Miller, ILB Shea McClellin likely to hit the market but could come back at right price.
  21. QUOTE (shipps @ Feb 24, 2016 -> 09:06 AM) Shocking... Ikr, can't believe the Bears want to hang on to an asset
  22. @adamschefter Bears are expected to retain WR Alshon Jeffery, either by signing him to long term deal or tagging him, per sources. ....says the guy who mused that the Bears would let him walk
  23. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Feb 22, 2016 -> 04:43 PM) aren't they likely going to resign him? Goff was saying yesterday that he did some digging with a few sources over the past couple weeks, and Derrick isnt going anywhere. He followed that by saying he would be extremely surprised if Derrick left, but he cant discount the possibility. Sources, sauces, you never know
  24. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 22, 2016 -> 12:09 PM) So you think that Rollins is still in his prime? I guess he could be, but it seems unlikely as he's already 37 years old. This is off-topic, but this signing pretty much wipes out the chance of the Sox going after Desmond, right? No I think all of them were acquired at different times of the season for different reasons, and they weren't all brought in to fill big roles. Most were past their prime, but that doesn't mean they should be avoided at all costs. Players past their primes contribute on every team in various ways, even playoff teams. This move isn't something you list off all of the older players you can recall the sox signing and lumping them all together and complain about . It's a minor league deal, he has to win this job
