QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 15, 2016 -> 01:30 PM) If I understand this correctly, it's not Peyton's victim who filed this lawsuit. Her matters were settled years ago. Other similar victims are bringing this suit as a Title IX violation by the university. Probably bringing up Peyton as a tactic to get a bigger settlement out of UT. Yes, Peyton's matter is settled. But it is being brought out because of the lawsuit and all of the sudden people are realizing what really happened (ass/nuts on her face) as opposed to the story that was circulated (mooning). Coupled with the recent story about Manning maybe/maybe not getting HGH, just a bad time for Peyton's PR

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 15, 2016 -> 11:58 AM) I can't even imagine why the Bulls could consider that trade for Butler. Especially the one that the Magic turned down. That is horrific for the Bulls. Butler is a top 15 player in this league who is signed to an extremely affordable contract, long term (yes, he would get far more on the open market). Basically that initial deal is so ridiculous I can't even believe it. Now your officer isn't as ridiculous, given the potential value of that Lakers pick (along with Dipo & Harris). I dont know if it changes your opinion, but this morning on the score they were saying that the other player was Vucevic

QUOTE (shipps @ Feb 15, 2016 -> 11:48 AM) Hasnt he already paid the girl in civil suit money...twice? To me its over and has been settled. Does it show Manning is probably a pretty bad guy? Yeah, but it should've have been his story line years ago. I really don't care for Manning but this just seems like the media controlling the public opinion of a guy as they collectively deem to fit for the moment. Yea there is a gag order on it for both of them now. His book comments were the last comments he made about her. Its strange, on one hand i agree that this is over and done with, it was public record (although rarely spoken of) and nobody said anything until he won the superbowl this season. One the other hand, he and UT destroyed this womans reputation. You cant get that back, i feel bad for her

QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 15, 2016 -> 10:48 AM) It's funny in sports media when people accomplish things (not that Peyton did anything in SB50) you have the social justice warriors come out of the woodwork and bring up some old story and rewrite some story that's already been out for years. When crooked politicians get elected there's nothing but blow job pieces. Where is the medium here? It has been tied into the larger lawsuit brought against UT about covering up rapes, not really out of the woodwork as much as bad timing for Peyton. He made some bad decisions about this entire thing though, he should have shut up about it a few times

I still loved the opening scene. So tense and then Daryl brings the pain out of nowhere

QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 02:35 PM) wait you said that you went and looked??? and that is it???? right~~~~` and now everything is all civil. Of course I did. I looked back through October and didn't find any we removed. But hey, we delete all of your guerrilla posts for sure

QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 02:29 PM) which one??? the balta defense or the remodeling one. Not finding any of your posts deleted by us. But ok then

QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 02:24 PM) you know, with ref to your post and nothing else, i will let you have this word, b/c if i try to defend myself, i will continue to spin this around for no reason. facts, 2 posts were deleted by admin's = it is my fault... ummm i avoid posting a reply to any and all admins, - you posted a very civil response excellent job. i extended a olive branch and the admin deleted my post and the whole post till last yr. i avoid reply to said admin.... it was not worth the response or aggravation which i would put to look as the guilty party.... said admin used another post to egg me on for lack of a response. and here we are, you again taking the lead in defense, why???? When was your post deleted, I want to look in archives and see why it was deleted

QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 02:03 PM) ahah twice that i can remember. on the one rant some admin took on me, when i posted a comment in defense of balta. you jump in right away after ss2k5 jumpt in. i had to tell you i was aiming on the defense of balta..... that was when the so called PM was going to be used more vigorously. 2nd. since the whole trouble of opinions was over and you posted a nice response. there was a question in the house remodeling and bidding on a house to purchase. i gave my experience and thoughts and what i thought was useful help, without bias or anything. i was extending the olive branch. several days later, that whole post ..... and conversation was deleted...... only an admin can do that. just like davers use to do. so yes, admin has powers esp in banning and making rules. narration on a msg board is good, esp when no ulterior agenda are added. not once in the last 2 or more weeks was i instigating anything... and yesterday topic was a debate.... you know a point and counter point. if i choose not to response to someone, why does a recurring jab is needed ..... esp from a ADMIN who should be above this. Recurring jab? Any time you are questioned by any member of the mod/admin team in the context of a discussion in a thread, you get super defensive and put your tinfoil hat on and accuse mods and admins of using their powers in some sort of way to influence any discussion. This is patently false, The only time we influence anything or ban anyone it is because of people being uncivil with each other or breaking established forum rules. And yes, we do make some rules in regards to how you are supposed to act on this forum. But you act like we have threatened to ban you multiple times before, and force you to conform to how we think. This is bulls***, we ask you to explain your point and then you want to claim conspiracy instead of answering a question.

QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 01:41 PM) you want honesty, i will tell you. no matter what i write or say, you will go off and rant. as you have in the past and when you are caught in the wrong, you will convenient delete the who post to a point that is less embarrassing. it is nice to be a Admin to have that power to cover your butt. so why should i bother to reply to you ????? to get berated and oh, i forgot those so called lies i accuse you to show.... but never did, oh yeah the other admin jump in to stop me from continuing to embarrass you. this was all done, but you needed to egg it on. really petty...... maybe even childish. all this from an ADMIN. When did we use our God like powers to delete your dissenting opinion, oh plebe? Are you going to accuse us again of using our powers to create narratives that everyone has to follow?

QUOTE (Julius @ Feb 13, 2016 -> 12:30 PM) The interview by Nightengale is something sox fans need to get through their head. It's on MLB.com to hear it for yourself. When he says "the white sox say they are out of cash" it is a complete lie that is being spun by the sox brass and the media just goes with it. It's not Nightingale who is lying, it is Reinsdorf. Reinsdorf is swimming in cash and chooses not to spend it. It should not be our role as fans to be fiscal watchdogs....well, maybe we should be watchdogs in the sense that we demand that Reinsdorf SPEND not save money on this team. This has been proclaimed as the small window of opportunity to go for it before JR dies and so far it is a half-arse attempt. When the half-arse attempt fails, yes, sox can go cheap and blow it up. Our role as fiscal watchdogs? Lmao, who gets to tell you how to spend your money? As it stands the sox have a 123M payroll, and you are acting like they have refused to spend a dime.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Feb 12, 2016 -> 04:00 PM) He is the first player in MLB history to be banned from the league for PED use and joins Pete Rose as the only living players to be banned from baseball. I'm pretty sure Andy Gonzalez is banned from baseball. At least he should be -
QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 12, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) Kyyle, there are draft misses, and there are having 3 picks in a draft, and using them all on point guards, and missing one of the greatest point guards ever. There is no defending that draft. There is defending Bowie, defending Embiid, Defending Oden, all of them. No defending that terrible twolves draft. I don't even care really that Minnesota f***ed it up. It was Kahn, not Hoiberg, that made the pick. Hoiberg had input no doubt, but Kahn made the pick.
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 12, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) Regardless, they did draft 3 point guards who couldn't shoot (even if they traded one), when the greatest shooting pg of all time was in the draft. Rubio was supposed to be next level, the hype behind him was pretty big. GMs make mistakes, look at Memphis blowing their pick on Hasheem Thabeet before Minnesota or GS picked. And this isnt even the GM that Ozzfest is hanging this on, this is the ASSISTANT GM, who is now a head coach. Its just silly. I get he doesnt like GarPaxBerg but goddamn
-
QUOTE (ozzfest @ Feb 12, 2016 -> 01:34 PM) You don't know how anyone can make that mistake? Sorry, Hoiberg was an assistant GM when they drafted Flynn and Rubio ahead of Curry. I still think that's enough not to want him as GM. http://espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4506863 He is not the GM, he is the head coach. And lets not pretend like everyone knew Curry was going to become possibly the best shooter in the history of the league when he was drafted.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 11, 2016 -> 09:09 PM) Does anyone have any experience in owning a home with private well and private septic sewer. I will be buying my first house with my soon to be wife in the upcoming months and so far the property we have liked the most is private well/sewer and neither of us have had any experience dealing with that. Some help on the plus/minuses would help, it's in the Chicagoland area and on a half acre lot for whatever that's worth. My dad lived in Johnsburg and had a private well. I lived with him for a short period of time and absolutely hated the water quality, and my dad did a lot to improve it with high cost filters. Thankfully he didnt have septic

the truth is, Chisoxfn planted a virus redirect code in WSI and Whitesox.com and everyone came over to soxtalk thinking that it was thier normal site redesigned. Nobody is supposed to know this, but it has been 10 years and it is finally time to let people know

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Feb 11, 2016 -> 01:36 PM) I think the relationship with Boras depends on the class of player we're talking about. Ever since the experience the team had with trying to woo Alex Rodriguez back in whatever year it was before he eventually to the Rangers, the Sox just don't go after any big ticket item whom Boras is representing. On the other side of the scale, the team got Andruw Jones signed a few years ago with no problem. Somewhere in the middle, you never know. The team did do a dos y dos with Boras several years ago in an attempt to get Johnny Damon, but in the end it didn't work out. Whatever attempt there is right now to bring Jackson on board feels similar to that experience, at least to me. We'll see. I do think there is a line the team won't cross when it comes to negotiating with Boras, and in most cases, I don't blame them. Boras also uses teams like the White Sox as leverage for the bigger spending teams, and i know the Sox FO(Williams) didnt like that

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 11, 2016 -> 12:06 PM) I mean, that's just revisionist history. The team stopped listening to Thibs that last year. They were tired of him. I loved Thibs and what he did, but it was time for a change. I love how Haugh and others keep saying "we need change just for change!" while at the same time claiming change for change with Thibs was a terrible decision. Which is it? What was reported all last season is that Gar let the team know prior to the season was Thibs was a lame duck and they really needed to listen to themselves, and not Thibs. Now that has come home to roost
