  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 23, 2016 -> 04:51 PM) Before the arguments begin, a public service announcement and reminder - how much the team is worth is not the same as revenue, nor are either the same as money available to pay for things. But they can borrow money from the Bulls to pay for things, right

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Mar 23, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) Let's remember that RT is not the film's grade but the percentage of people who would recommend it others. The closest thing to the film's grade would be the CinemaScore which is a survey of audience members. I'm not really sure that CinemaScore is a true film grade of anything when I look at their recent reviews and Gods of Egypt has a B-, London has Fallen an A-, and the Revenant a B+. Seems kind of off to me

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 23, 2016 -> 10:13 AM) I've seen a hand full of reviews mention Marvel movies and them being "fun". It's only been a couple. That is why I said those reviews don't really bother me because I know why they are giving it a bad review. Also, I'm not some DC fan boy that won't criticize DC. They have done an awful job at handling these movies. I think Marvel did a brilliant job in the way they released their movies. DC should have just flat out copied that. There are tons of other bad reviews that actually criticize the plot and that the movie is a mess. Those are the ones I think probably truly reflect why the movie might be pretty bad. Deadpool is not Disney Marvel, that is Fox. Plot and direction are a huge part of the criticisms of the movie though, which was my main worry. And the problem is that Snyder was given the keys to the kingdom, his fingerprints are all over everything going forward. This universe and these characters are strong and well written in their source material, I want it to succeed and compete

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 23, 2016 -> 09:53 AM) What? That's what they are. I'm not saying they are bad. They just tend to be on the more fluffy funny side. Sure, fluffy and funny, that's what the Winter Soldier, Age of Ultron, The First Avenger were. That's why BvS is getting bad reviews, because people are expecting a Marvel movie and not because of the actual movie they watched. I haven't read one review that says anything close to comparing to Marvel movies but this is the first knee jerk reaction I read to a critique. Let's keep in mind that the grim and gritty approach took the Nolan trilogy to a average RT 85%, so apparently they weren't looking for fluffy and funny but rather a good movie
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 10:14 PM) Speaking of NXT, Emma is back. Her Evil Emma character has been fantastic so let's see how bad they screw her up this time. Hopefully she doesn't try and shoplift anything else

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 23, 2016 -> 08:43 AM) I don't mind the bad reviews that say the movie is to "grim" or "gritty". I think those reviewers just want the happy go lucky Disney Marvel movies. I mean this is a Batman movie. The bad reviews that worry me are the ones that say this movie is a mess and has an incoherent plot. That is what I was afraid of. Lmao, and there it is

If you want to talk about it then make a dedicated thread with a subtitle indicating spoilers beware, like we did with avengers and TDK and also GoT

JS, I have to say that your above review starting off with you saying you were merely satisfied is a huge red flag for me. The RT and IMDb reviews don't really matter, you have been championing this movie for months and just satisfied is not something that would make me want to go out of my way to see it. The critics seem to be echoing the same thoughts, the movie is distracted and incoherent, explosions and fights are put in place of plot and character development
  10. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 05:36 PM) Sager has 3-6 months to live. Damn. He is said it is basically unheard of for someone to get a stem cell transplant three times, what a sad shame.

QUOTE (SnB @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 01:36 PM) I've just recently discovered Firestone Walker, might be my new favorite brewery. Great beer and the best logo. I went to the Noon Whistle a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it http://www.noonwhistlebrewing.com

Dusting this thread off because of the beerfest at the Field Museum this weekend, anyone going? https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2016-chicago-b...ets-21016334422
  14. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Mar 21, 2016 -> 11:33 AM) I'd say rush him to the big leagues since his arm is supposed to fall off sooner rather than later. As Coop said, "we didn't draft a guy this high to be a reliever." You can't predict when a guys arm is supposed to fall off. Sales arm was supposed to be reattached three times by now

  19. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 02:12 PM) I get a weird vibe from it. The tone of the letter does not seem to fit way certain teammates are freaking out about it. Maybe its just me. I feel like Laroche at this point is done with it and wants it over with

  21. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 08:57 AM) Citing free speech is wrong with reference to someone speaking their mind on social media? Really? Yeah, OK... Im saying that he can say what he wants, but there could be repercussions. Nobody is restricting his right to free speech though
  22. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 08:59 AM) Apparently the bike had no lights and he was wearing dark clothing...at night...and he happens to be african american. Seems like a bunch of bad ideas all at once
  23. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 08:43 AM) Eaton speaking out on his personal Twitter account is about free speech which is why I brought it up. The point is that I respect the fact that Eaton has the right to say what he likes on his Twitter account ( free speech ) but the LaRoche issue is one that should have remained in the clubhouse until LaRoche made his final decision and all the facts were out, which not all the facts are out yet. Nobody has restricted Eatons right to say anything on Twitter, that doesn't mean a team rep shouldn't tell Eaton that he needs to be a little bit more edited in what he says on Twitter so they don't have to keep putting out these small fires that keep getting set all over the place Citing "free speech!" is wrong
  24. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 07:44 AM) False. As the title of the thread says, he created it. Nothing about them actually talking about a trade. no, he is saying that. We know he made that s*** up, but that does mean he isnt presenting this as if its true and hoping it catches on. "Rumblings that Hanley Ramirez could be sent to the White Sox" is saying that
