  1. Bairstow starting. This is not a drill, I repeat, this is not a drill
  2. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 02:48 PM) Dropped some cash on a Wii U system on Ebay. Deluxe system with a pro controller, Kart, 3d world, mario/luigi u, wind waker and pikmin 3 for $483 bucks. Cheapest I could find those games anywhere was $48 or higher, so ultimately that's like $600 + tax new. Assuming it all works as described, I'm pretty happy with the price. That's a pretty good deal. The best buy 4 game bundle is close to it but I think the pro controller and Kart/water/Mario/Pikmin is a great deal for you http://www.bestbuy.com/site/wii-u-with-mar...9237800050006.p ^for comparisons sake(the price of this bundle will be at $360 on Friday, but I still think you won)

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 01:41 PM) Same. It bothers me that it's the same story as the original ("here's a park full of dinosaurs, it's perfect...oh s***, something went wrong, panic!") and it looks super cheesy. The whole fake-sea world thing? Really? The funny thing is, all of the 4 movies have small parts of the original book. They mention an aquatic area in the original book, and they actually visit the aviary(which they went to in JP3). Thats why i said it would have been better for me if they just rebooted, and kept as close to the original book as possible. You know, Hammond dies(and is a raging prick), Malcolm dies, there are two T-rexs, its more of a horror story.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 12:06 PM) I want to be excited about it, but I kinda give that a big MEH. It isnt a movie i will go out of my way to see in the theater, but I will watch it when i can rent it
  7. Hey, I just want to point out that not too long ago the NFC west was the most terribleest division ever and Seattle got into the playoffs with a sub .500 record and everyone flipped out that they got a home game against the so much better Saints. 2 years later they won the Superbowl and the NFC west is regarded as one of the top divisions in Football

  9. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 11:16 AM) Wrong, option B is how you end up like the Royals of the 90's, having a couple stars but not having enough depth to ever make a run. Thats the option where you get to see players like Chris Sale win championships in other cities while you remenice on his time as a White Sox and how he should have won Cy Youngs, but couldn't win enough games because of the talent around him. In option "A" you move one of those players and supplement the other stars that remain with above replacement level players, if some reach star status that is icing on the cake. The teams in the WS this year are great examples, neither could be considered to have more than a couple of star players (especially with Cain out), but are solid enough all around that they make up for it. Obviously Sale and Abreu are off the table, but a Q trade could fill a lot of holes and provide enough upgrades that the Sox can contend next season and each of the years that they still have Sale under contract. The Royals never made any attempt to keep any of their stars, and repeatedly traded them off until it became an absurd joke. They had no depth because they kept planning for everybody to be stars at the same time, and as wite said they never spent money to fill the holes.
  10. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 09:23 AM) Yeah because obviously trading 1 player who pitches every fifth day means we are punting for the next 3 years. Makes perfect sense. How many teams have pitchers like Sale that pitch every 5th day? How are the Sox supposed to replace that? By hoping that one of the prospects that comes back can come close to the production Sale provides?

  12. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 08:32 AM) Ok, ok I forgot the Red Sox won the world series. Still an example of trading an ace pitcher for a good return. If the Marlins weren't the Marlins Hanley and Sanchez should have been much better for their long term success than Beckett and Lowell. Obviously all prospects are risks, but Owens, Bogarts, Swihart, Betts, and Ranaudo would have a really good chance of starting for us in 2016. Of course that's in a prefect world where they all succeed, but still a risk worth at least entertaining in my opinion. Not like they are 18 year olds, they have all had success in the upper minors with a good bit of pedigree behind them. You should want minimum 2 players that have had sustained success in the majors. And thats just the start. You are punting at least the next 3 years making this deal.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 02:57 PM) Don't these signings make it pretty likely Hamels will be in Boston? I guess it depends on the conversations that the Phillies had with Theo back in late August
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 01:59 PM) Yeah and this year they have had similar talent and been very mediocre and have actually been getting worse as the season progresses. We can't protect the football or consistently produce points and have invested significant resources in that side of the football. One could argue based upon NFL commentary that the NFL got video on our offense and made significant adjustments that we can't counter successfully. Think of year two of Gary Crowton and how quickly he was out of the league once people adapted to our scheme. Right now it would appear that Trestman's offense is way too vanilla and NFL defenses are all over what we are doing, far too often. When you say we, really it is Jay. He has the most TOs in the league with 18, Trestman cant fall on the sword for that one(he has plenty of other things to be blamed for). And i think Jays turnovers have done the reverse of what was originally expected this season, instead of opening up the playbook, Trestman has had to close it up and over simplify it to prevent turnovers.
  15. QUOTE (bruni @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 12:36 PM) Judging by the comments, this will not go over well but if someone is willing to trade me Cespedes and Bogaerts plus another throw in (Nava?, Middlebrooks?) for Sale, I make that trade all day long. I then immediately have SS solved for the next 6+ years and I work to sign Cespedes for a longer term deal. I also then flip Alexi to Seattle/LA/NYM or anyone else for 2 young controllable pitchers with upside and grab Headley to play 3B. Every time I watch Sale pitch with the torque he puts on that arm, all I hear is tick...tick...tick... The guy is bound to breakdown and this years stint on the DL for a month is where he is unfortunately likely headed in the years to come. Sell high and solve for 2-4 needs at once for the price of a 12 win pitcher who - while a stud ace when healthy - is a high risk player. Don't think so? Just 2 years ago, the W Sox were going to make him a reliever to save his arm, remember? And if you don't like what Boston has to offer, I'd put it out there are the GM meetings in December that all but Abreu are available so make an offer. Sale is never going to be more valuable than now and our team needs multiple solutions, not just one. Am I in the minority - absolutely. Do I hope Sale can stay and give the W Sox an injury free HOF career - you bet. But as a 22+ year season ticket holder growing tired of watching the team finish out of the playoffs, I'd rather use our most valuable, yet risky piece to gain depth and improve the teams over all talent base. PS - for the Cespedes haters, while yes he is overrated, last year only 9 players in the AL reached 100 RBI's in 2014 and Cespedes was one of them. That type of production is increasingly hard to come by so the comparisons with him and Viciedo need to really stop as it is not even close. Plus a middle of the line up with Abreu, Cespedes, La Roche, Headley, Garcia looks pretty good to me. Stick Eaton at leadoff and Bogaerts in the 2 hole and you are going to have a serious offense! OK - now let me have it! all i will give you is, No.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 08:30 AM) The trailer was shown in theaters. I don't think it was a fan trailer. Also the dialogue was clearly about the material at hand. Definitely not a fan thing. I think you and I talked about this a long time ago - it may have been a studio idea-float type thing. It's odd, looking at stories, it appears they put the trailer out as a potential JP addition... then later changed it to be hunting something not a dinosaur as a seperate movie called The Hunter. The trailer still exists here. to be honest, i would have been pretty disappointed if that Dafoe/Neill movie was JP4. Dragging out Alan Grant for the 3rd time to save the day just wasnt necessary.
  18. To be honest it makes sense why they held the bat back, if its gonna be HHH vs Sting. They are gonna build up a program, and HHH will get frustrated to the point that he gets out the hammer, then comes the bat
  19. Beckhams catch was the most athletic catch i have ever seen. David Tyrees catch was the best i have ever seen given the situation

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 08:15 AM) I just looked at the description for Jurassic World. Way, way different than that surprising teaser from a couple years ago with Sam Neill and Willem Defoe. This one has Chris Pratt, and the plot line looks... less than exciting. pretty sure that was just a fan trailer. At this point Jurassic Park is what it is for me. They decided to continue the story and keep all of the movies as canon. Thats fine, i would have preferred a total reboot and try and keep the movie close to the original book, but whatever. I kind of like that the Park is up and running exactly like they wanted it to originally, and things are advanced beyond an island with a bunch of mysterious dinosaurs in the woods.
  21. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 07:15 AM) To summarize PFF's findings for yesterday, the defense played fabulously well and the offense was dreadful - in case your eyes didn't tell you that. Overall, PFF's grades indicate that we have a league average offense and a league average defense. Maybe more excitingly, the Bucs took our crown as league's worst special teams Does it break up the offense per half? I am just curious if they merely tread water in the second half after drowning in the first. Every TD they had was a layup due to a turnover
