  1. Frank will be the Sox's #3 guy until he retires. He has performed good there, and will continue to throughout the rest of his career. One bad season under his belt won't change where he stands. He is one of the greatest offensive threats the White Sox have ever had, and one bad season can't change that.
  2. I'd have to say Rauch. He put on good performances in all his appearences, except for that dark day when we played Seattle. I was happy with what I saw last season, as little as it was, I was happy with what I saw. I think he would be a great 5th man all season for the White Sox.
  3. I'd like to apologise for my statements made about the Twin's franchise in the topic, "Bad News for the Twinkies," about spending life in wheel chairs. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I retract my statements made. After looking at other posts on how it would be better to beat the Twins when they are 100%, I would have to agree with that more. Again, sorry for my statements made. Especially CWSOX, who i have made especially angry at me. I deserve the verbal punishments from all. Again, sorry, I did not mean to offend anyone.

  5. I am here to present the question of will Miguel Olivo get a lot of playing time this season? With the aquisation (again) of veteran catcher Sandy Alomar Jr. and having along side him Josh Paul, will Olivo get a lot of playing time? I'd say Alomar would get the majority, Paul will got some, and Olivo will get little. Alomar is a veteran who can play the game and the White Sox have no reason not to play him when he is able. If he is not, they will probably use Paul more, which won't leave Olivo with a lot of playing time. Just my opinion. What's your's?
  6. I think it will be Olivo. I think so because besides the home run in his first major league at bat against the Yankees (Boooooooo!), he didn't show much spunk in the time he was playing. I know it wasn't a lot of time, but that's my opinion. Who knows, maybe he will impress me this season.
  7. WhiteSox247, Let's make it work for both of us. We win the World Series back to back times, once in a 7 game gutwrencher, and the next in a 4-0 sweep. i;d love to see both back to back.
  8. As long as the White Sox win a World Series at least once in my lifetime, I will die a happy man.
  9. I'm just seeing who us White Sox fans are guessing as to who is the best team in the NL is. Whoever team that is though, will be beaten by the White Sox in the World Series in a 4-0 sweep.
  10. I like the way you think WiteSoxFan. All we are saying to the team that we are facing is... !
  11. In a bold statement here, I have to say the Astros. I know it's crazy, but it looks good on paper. With a healthy Wade Miller along with Roy Oswalt who have a career combined record of 70-31, along with the 3-4-5 men of Jeff Bagwell, Lance Berkman, and Jeff Kent, I think the Astros are a huge contender. What do you guys think?
  12. I'm saying the White Sox are going to win between 95-99. Have a season like they did in 2000 when they won 97 games, only this time instead of being eliminated after 3 games by Seattle, we win the World Series! If the White Sox went 173-0, I would save up enough money and by the naming rights back from those U.S. Cellular bastards and put the name Comiskey Park back on that beautiful baseball field.
  13. Frank Thomas will be good this season, I assure you. I mean, come on, how could you get worse than last season. That's right! You can't. For Frank, I'm guessing he'll post a 30-105-.305 season statistically. As for the Hall of Fame, if he puts uo numbers like he did last season, he ain't going in. But if he maintains 3 more good steady seasons with the White Sox, he will probably be going to Cooperstown. That's my opinion.
  14. Well I'll be. This is a hard topic. No one can decide. Everyone thinks Colon and Buerhle are going to tie in the win coulmn. Very entriguing. Oh yeah; the point of my second post for this topic is to give you the number of wins for each pitcher, and they are: Colon will win 23 games while Buerhle will win 21. It will be close, no doubt about it. No way to know but to wait until the season gets under way. At the time I made this post there is 36 days, 5 hrs, and 43 minutes until the White Sox (Cough*World Series*Cough) season is under way.
  15. With Ordonez having these stats: -8th in AL in hits with 189 -6th in AL in Hr's with 38 -2nd in MLB in RBI's with 135 -5th in AL in AVG. with .320 (With Players with over 100 games) With those stats, Ordonez should not only be a White Sox batting champion, Maggz will be a contender for the AL batting title, which makes him the White Soxs' premiere player.
  16. Two biggest rookies obviously are Borchard and Rauch. Rauch will be ready just in time for opening day. He will be in full force on that 5th game of the season, I hope. As for Borchard, he is starting in AAA Charolette. I think he will be good to go about a month after the season starts. Either way, the Sox rookies this year should and will be a big impact on this years season.
  17. I agree with WhiteSox247's take on Rowand: people just give him a chance! Now i may get yelled at for putting him in the 9 spot in my lineup predictions, but I think he isn't the type of guy to be stealing bases. He is a very good hitter, and the only reason in the 9 hole is because everyone in the lineup are amaing hitters as well. If you gave Rowand to any other team, he'd be in the 6 or 7 hole. The fact that we have one of the best offenses in baseball is the only reason that he is further back in the lineup. Sorry if I offended anyone who believes Rowand should be in the 2 spot.
  18. No doubt Thomas need to step up. After having an average of .252 last year and an OBP of .361, Thomas needs to improve immensly noting that his career average in .314 and career OBP is .432. Thomas is an extremely talented player and with the highest active career OBP of any player, he needs to step up in order to keep that title. After being uninjured for about a year and a half, there is no excuse that Thomas should not be where he was in 2001 with stats of 43-143-.328.
  19. OK, I'm not saying that this is the lineup, but this is my prediction, and it looks pretty OK to me: Lineup: 1)D'Angelo Jiminez 2B 2)Jose Valentin SS 3)Frank Thomas DH 4)Magglio Ordonez RF 5)Paul Konerko 1B 6)Carlos Lee LF 7)Joe Crede 3B 8)Aaron Rowand CF 9)Miguel Olivo C These are also some subs that will be making some starts and being subbed in and out throughout the season : Willie Harris at 2B, Josh Paul or Miguel Olivo at C, and Joe Borchard at LF, once he is called up. As stated, this is a prediction! Not the real lineup. This is Mike's predicition! Just making that clear! And here is my PREDICTION for the White Sox starters. Starters: 1)Mark Buerhle 2)Bartolo Colon 3)Jon Garland 4)Danny Wright 5)Jon Rauch I know a lot of people would say put the veteran Esteban Loaiza that we got from the Blue Jays in the five spot, but the 6'11 rookie should be the starter. Aside from the mishap in Seattle that us Sox fans dread to mention, Rauch had a good season, he had 2 good starts, and a couple good relfief appearences. Besides how can you say 'no' to a player who set a world record the first ball he threw (Cough *Tallest man ever to play in a Major League game* Cough). I believe Rauch is ready and weill be ready on the Soxs' 5th game of the regular season.
  20. Yeah, I'd have to agree with what was already stated. Having Wunsch, the Sox finesse lefty, gives the South Siders a good lefty sharpshooter. Marte is a lefty good for a whole inning cause he can do well against both lefties and righties (better at lefties though obviously), but Wunsch has a tough time against righties, but is also PHENOMINAL against lefties. If the Sox are up against a tough lefty, for example Jason Giambi, they can put Wunsch in and be more confident that Giambi won't crush the ball. As long as Wunsch is a good, healthy, lefty-submariner the whole season, he will work wonders for the White Sox.
  21. Hey ChiSoxFn, thanks for the warm welcome, I can already tell my time spent here will be well spent. And CWSOX, I like the way you think; both Buerhle and Colon winning 31 games, good prediction!
  22. This is a topic asking who will have more wins this season: Mark Buehrle or Bartolo Colon? In my opinion, Colon will have more. Last year having won 10 games in Cleveland is understandable, but having won 10 games in Montreal is phenominal. With the offense in Montreal being provided only by Vladimir Guererro, having the offense the White Sox do with Ordonez, Thomas, Konerko, and Lee will put Colon well over the 20 game-win mark and have more wins than the White Sox ace, Mark Buerhle.
