Sn Report: Thomas: "I Won't Hit .250 Again"
WhiteSoxPride3035 replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
We'll never see the guy below a .300 batting average ever again. That is one scary hitter. He was born with a baseball bat in his hands, and he knows how to use it. -
Time stretches as we inch ever closer to that wonderful day when we test or nwe, finely-tuned Chicago White Sox team against or division opponents the Kansas City Royals. The time for the Chicago White Sox to reak havoc upon the AL is near....

Wunsch can pick off lefties like none other. He is a great person to have in your pen when you are up against a tough lefty. As long as he is in the White Sox bullpen, he is welcome by me.
-
Don't worry. Frank will be talking enough, I think. He will speak through his bat. Then after his bat is done talking at the end of September, then the media could talk to him. Or maybe they won't need to because his bat said enough already.

When you're at the game, just go down and see if you can get better seats. If so, congratulations. If not, go back to your seat..... and try back in 10 minutes !!

Don't get me started on Mike Tyson related nightmares! It is a recurring dream: me getting the crap kicked out of me by Iron Mike for 49 seconds straight and then I wake up! It's terrible !
-
I was watching the game over dinner and I saw this happen and got up and started yelling at the TV. That was unacceptable. After I heard the day after Konerko was standing there and he wanted to jump and and beat the guys ass, I really wish he had.

It acts just like a doughnut. It is heavy and makes a real bat feel like a feather. Yeah, and Jim, thanks for giving me nightmares about the Big Hurt attacking me with a heavy piece of metal! I can;t sleep now !

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and predict that the Yankees will win the AL East. Call it a hunch..... WOW! The Yankees; what are you crazy?! It's definetley gonna be the Devil Rays this year ! Haha. That's gonna happen like the Brewers are going to win the Nl Central !

DJ is no joke. I admit, If we could only have one person announcing games, yes, I would choose Hawk, but we can have two. Hawk and DJ I think have great chemistry together, and they both know what they're talking about.

Shades of 2000? Part Three: The Offense
WhiteSoxPride3035 replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Exactly. I think this team has a lot of potential in ability and in chemistry. I liked KW addressing the chemistry question at SoxFest and saying that is a consideration on who we sign. It is early, but I have hopes. This team not only has potential and ability, we have great chemistry. We're not going around pulling the Bonds-Kent fights in the dugout. I know the players are not all best of friends, but they work great on the field and in the clubhouse. I love the White Sox team chemisrty and I think it is a joke to question it. -
"That's a slap in the face. I earned the right to be at a certain level and I'm not there anymore," Thomas said. I know that Thomas is an exceptional player, but he should'nt be surprised the Diminished Skills Clause was enforeced. I know he came off of injury last season, but the lows he got to last year was ones we Sox Fans would never expect. And as for the, quote, "certain level," he is referring to his salary. FRANK! We know you lost money, and we don't care. We Sox fans know you still have the capability to be a 35-125-.300 guy. You just have to do it again. You didn't lose any respect from me, just money.

Well, no team can go into a season and expect to appear and/or win the Fall Classic every year. Some teams more than others, and many more than the Sox. We all stay true as loyal fans of the CHicago White Sox organization. We haven't had completely terrible years. We have just had a lot of ample years that will leave us somewhere around .500 and won't catapault us into the playoffs. Just like every White Sox fan, I am waiting for that coveted World Series win again. We just have to wait until our team is fine tuned enough to do so. And let me tell you, the team this year looks pretty fine tuned to me.

That's an insult to the White Sox farm system. I know we are best, but we are much better than #22. I'd say we'd be between 15-18 as well. With guys like Borchard, Olivo, Malone, Honel, and Rauch, there is no reason we should be ranked so low in MLB farm systems.
-
God bless family members with connections !!!
-
If he can;t find anywhere to go, he will lower his price. He knows he is a good pitcher, and we all know he is good. He won't want to be somewhere where MLB players who don't get signed go, like Japan. He will lower his asking price so he can stay in the MLB.

Like everyone has said, nice article! I especially like the quote from JM "Hopefully, it will keep the winning streaks longer, and the losing streaks shorter."
-
That's one more vote for SoxNet.net! Let's hope it takes us one step closer to that coveted #1 spot.

I never ever understood that That makes two of us, CWSOX. I'd like a full explanation from someone. Please!

However long it has been since Big Frank last talked to the media, it should be very interesting. After this long drought of silence from Thomas, I am dying to hear what he has to say.

Baseball Weekly has Sox ranked 12th

Good point, Jim. Reinsdorf is attached to Frank like a leech. Lee would be gone way before the thought of Frank leaving would come up. I like Lee, don't get me wrong, but he can't compete with Big Frank for the DH spot. Once Borchard is nice and ready, Lee won't have much of a place to be on the White Sox. As much as I would hate to see C. Lee leave, him staying on the White Sox staff for years to come is a slim possibility. -
I'm just wondering if anyone is going to be going to the All-Start game this year? I am most likely getting tickets from one of my cousin's husbands because he has his connections. Just wondering if I would be seeing any of you there. If you are planning on not going, what will you be doing the day of the All-Star game?
-
Totally agree here, as well. We are all kicking ourselves for trading Durham. As stated, he is a great leadoff hitter who can also hit for some power (hit 20 HR's in 2001 season). He is very capable of putting up All-Star calibur numbers again. It'd be cool to see Durham make the NL All-Star team and we could see him again here in the South Side. Then again, we are playing the NL West for interleague games, so we will be seeing him sooner or later. Either way, I would much rather have Durham at second and solve most of our problems in the middle infield situation we are in.

Baseball Weekly has Sox ranked 12th
WhiteSoxPride3035 replied to Bighurt52235's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I doubt it..... especially if the White Sox are contending this year. Couple that with the fact that KW has expressed his desire to make CLee the DH once he can get rid of Frank (make no mistake..... KW wants Frank OUT of Chicago's SS) and I just don't see the Sox getting rid of CLee anytime soon..... or as long as KW is the GM. Thomas is Reinsdorf boy.....Reinsdorf has a bit more power than Williams. From this, I have concluded that Lee will be out of the south side before Big Frank.....or so I hope. Exactly. I would much rather see Lee go than Thomas. Most people would pick Thomas over Lee in a battle for a DH spot. Also, the whole Reinsdorf situation, he would get rid of Lee before he got rid of Frank.
