Very true. I'm not complaining or anything, it was just something I noticed repeatedly and had to bring up. And yes, I am glad to see everyone here at SoxNet gets along really well, too.

I totally disagree. White and Glover have proven they can be effective major league relievers (White over the course of several years). Stewart has been great this spring, but the fact is, he has never thrown a pitch above AA ball. So I think it would be quite reasonable for White and Glover to make the team and send Stewart to Charlotte to see if he can keep getting people out at that level. It probably makes more sense to do that than to have him seeing only occasional action in the pen. And although you're right that Buehrle's first MLB action was out of the pen, he spent the first half of that season (2000) getting regular starts in the minors. Plus, as good as Stewart was last year, he is not nearly as accomplished at the minor league level as Buehrle was. Buehrle was absolutely lights out in AA; Stewart was good but not great. Start Stewart in AAA (unless Wright isn't ready), have him spend the first few months there and if he's doing well, he'll get a ticket to Chicago when a major leaguer gets hurt or can't get anyone out. I totally agree. Stewart isn't, how do you say, 'ripe' yet for the White Sox to bring him to the major league level. He has proven himself in spring training and he had done fairly well in AA. The White Sox should bring Stewart up to AAA Charolette and base their decision from his performence there. You can't bring a player striaght up from AA to the majors. You have to put him in AAA before the majors, because, as we all know, AAA is more advanced and difficult than AA. Even if Stewart is only in AAA for a week, if he tears through the minors, congratulations to him, but, if he does only ample, leave him there and let him develop more. Then, on the topic of Stewart over White or Glover in the bullpen; no chance. Glover has been around the bullpen for a couple of years and has done well there, and White has been in the league a long time and knows what he is doing on the mound. I admit, Stewart is a great pitcher, but he is not ready for the majors right now, he will be and we all know he will be soon.

Well, I've been absent for a week or so due to Spring Break (Hell Yeah ), but now I'm back and I have taken a real notice to something: The subject changes in the forums. For example, I was taking a look at a Forum enititled "Rauch: Future," and I took at the last post, and it was a message on how "bad girls" could be or could not be a lot of fun. I don't know, it's not like I'm pissed at this, it just sort of came as a shock to me on how the subjects differ from the titles of the forum. Then again, in modern day society, you take a look at a 1 hour conversation between 2 people, and I'm sure you will see a good 10 subject changes. Just something that caught my eye and had to adress.

That makes 3 of us that are having MLB.com/Real Player issues. Is it safe to assume that both of you have been using the free real player and are not subscribed to the season pass for internet radio offered at MLB.com? It's times like these when I wish there was a reliable internet radio or television here at SoxNet where everyone who doesn't want to deal with the s***ty ones at MLB.com. For now, however, we can only wish...

Frankly, I would have liked to see Rauch win the 5th spot because I like that kid a lot. However, Rauch did very poor throughout spring training. On the other hand, Loaiza shined all through spring training and is now the White Sox 5th man. As much as I would have liked to see Rauch in the coveted 5th spot, Loaiza earned the right to be there and has every right to do so.

AMEN to that! Nothing but good things, nothing but good things.......

Glad to see Danny back on the mound. If he shows a drastic decrease in his skill/strategy on the mound, remember, Don Cooper said that the he would have to re-evaluate Wright and see if he is ready for the th game of the Sox season and the others to come. If not, we may be looking at both Stewart, Loaiza, and/or Rauch, any two of them in the rotation come opening day.

By the way Clujer, sorry for not mentioning your name when it comes to play-by-play. You're the best play-by-play guy here at SoxTalk.com !!

Looking forward to the play-by-play! Ooooooh man, what a lineup that looks to be. With Garland on the Hill and that kind of offense, I smell a White Sox Winner in the near future; so Kansas City..... !!!

A Letter to All Visitors of SoxNet/Soxtalk

Ya, we will be fully in charge. The only difference is we will be on a sweet server. I know some have said they have had trouble on this board when it comes to acessing it at times and those problems should end. Their will be a new board, but we are going to do all we can to make the move smooth in terms of it; ie re-registering everyone, updating the post numbers to what they were when they were here (IF Possible; I think it is). Then we'll move this board to a different server where it will be at least in read only mode so all this info won't be lost, etc. You can always go back and check on new things and such. Losing this board was a sticking point, because of some of the hassles it will cause in the beginning (Learning a new board, etc). The positive is, now we are at a place that will be our permanent home, assuming there are no bumps As long as you guys are running this place, I am happy !! -
Commentary: Ten Things to Talk About
WhiteSoxPride3035 replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
After what Koch did last season in Oakland, and Gordon starts to mouth off like that, there will be some tension. Gordon was signed as a set-up man/reliever and that's where he will stay. I don't think he has a reason to talk about wanting to be the closer when Koch is around, because it ain't going to happen. -
Johan Santana is a very underrated player; I mean, for the few games he was in in winning situations, he had 8 wins last uear. He is a great pplayer, and I would definetley choose him over Rogers if I were the Twin's.

joe borchard must make this team imo

If KW decides to get rid of Garland for any reason in the next year or two, every Sox fan will want him hung. He is an amazing pitcher considering his age. What comes with growing up is skill; just imagine how much better and fine tuned he will be during, say, the 2005 season. I can't wait to see Garland in his prime. He will soon be one of the elite pitchers in the game. -
I'm stuck here at school; on Soxtalk.com when I should be researching for a project , so you better hurry up with the play-by-plays! I don't want to have to wait until 4:30 PM until I get home. HURRY!

KipWellsFan, great job at doing the play by play. Very informative and up to speed. Keep it up buddy !! What am I, chopped liver? Not at all Clujer. I have the upmost respect for your play-by-plays as well. You'll never be considered chop liver by me. So keep up those play-by-plays in the future just like KipWellsFan did today !

Aren't we all. Come on, Danny! Come back to us, man !!
-
Totally agree. In 1 or 2 years, Garland will be dominant over Rogers. Buerhle and Colon most likely already are. He woudln't get the same respect he did down in Texas because he would be down in about the 3rd spot. So we good for now on pitchers.

Josh Paul is NOT faster than Miguel Olivo....he's faster than Alomar, yes, but then again, who isn't? Olivo stole like 25 bases in AA ball last year and hit like 10-15 triples. Slow people normally don't steal 25 bases and hit 10-15 triples. And baggs....how much DOES your son weigh? Yeah, I was going to say, that doesn't sound right. Paul doesn't come close to Olivo in speed. Paul just isn't going to cut it this year. Olivo and Alomar will be playing almost the whole year. Poor Paul; enjoy the playing time on St. Patrcik's Day while you can.
-
Yeah, he would do better than some of the pitchers the Scrubs have up on their staff currently.
-
As much as I'd like to have those two amazing seasons the A's did, I'd say no. I know, I sound like a crazy mother f***er, and I am. No matter how good a team did, I would always stick to what the White Sox did. I wouldn't necessarily be happy with the outcome, but it would be a great feeling knowing where are home town heros got us. As long as they don't do as bad as the Scrubs did last year ( ), I'm happy with our Chicago White Sox !
-
A good addition to the Sox, I think, would be Soriano or Kent. An amazing second baseman like any of those to would be a great addition to the White Sox offense. Also, it would solve our old problem over there at second base.

Paul's barely going to touch a Major League field this year now that we have Alomar, Olivo, and Burke.

Ummmm if you say so? The twins were given a good shot to win the division last season, and they have not been good for only a year. The Sox were chosen over the Twin's last season. The people who predicted that were wrong. Frank didn't do what was expected of him which really shout our chances. The Twin's are sure to put up a fight this year, as well as years to come. It wasn't even a race last year for us, this year, though, I think the Twin's are going to be the ones playing catch-up ! By the way, I am now in AAA ball, so hell yeah!
