Rauch isn't looking too hot right now. If Danny is out for awhile, for the time being, Loaiza and Stewart will probably occupy the 4-5 spots in the rotation.
-
Alomar, Olivo, and Burke. Alomar will do good for a while, then his legs will give out. The Olivo will step in, and if he cannot perfom, the job will be Burke's. Sorry, but all you Josh Paul fans, you are not gonna be seeing much of him this season.
-
But i would perfer him throwing out base runners for the sox I think everyone would prefer a young gun like Olivo over Alomar. It's just that Olivo isn't ready. Sandy will catch until May or June, and then when his legs give out and/or Olivo is ready, Miguel will be ready to take over, or so we hope.

At least you guys had fun..... ! -
The Diamonbacks just keep dishing out the pain to us everytime we play them. I dread the season series !
-
Thats exactly why i would rather they do this now and get it done with.... better then risking him compensating for the pain in his elbow, and hurting his shoulder or worse... If I were Danny, I would get the surgery now. Better to miss a little over half a season and play out his career than to play half a season and then be done for his career.

This a big problem for Rodriguez. He could get it all worked out in a matter of days ro weeks, but it will be bugging him all season. He will have to make sure he doesn't tweak his neck in the slightest bit, or it could get even worse. And, for people who have A-Rod on there Fantasy Baseball team, I'd have a backup shortstop needed.

Wow, A's won't have much to be looking forward to in 2004, then. Unless they have a HUGE pickup this season or next offseason, they will not have much of an offensive juggernaut anymore. Winning games for them will be all on the backs of people like Barry Zito and Tim Hudson. Think, then in the past 3 offseasons, if they do not re-sign Tejada next season, they will have lost the 2002 MVP in Tejada, and then in the offseason prior to the 2002 season, losing the 2002 Home Run Derby champion in Giambi. It will be a terrible thing, if I was an Oakland resident, to see Tejada go.

I'm glad, just like everyone else, that Wright is getting better. I hope he will be ready for the season opener, and things are looking good right about now. What we are all waiting for though is the Sox's 5th game to see who our #5 starter is. It is mostly a competition between Rauch and Loaiza. As much as I want Rauch in that 5th spot, Loaiza is doing much better in Spring Training which will be a huge factor in deciding who will take the 5th spot.

If things go wrong-pitching wise that is?
WhiteSoxPride3035 replied to bulokis's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Only if our pitching this year is that bad, which it doesn't look like it s going to be. -
Right! But, I thought it might've been nice for him to work a little on pitching to righties so he can in a pinch be used against them! They would do that with people like Marte. Wunsch is a lefty submariner; he picks off lefties and is not meant to stay in very long and rack up outs. He goes in for 1/3 or 2/3 innings, faces a couple of lefties and leaves. Wunsch is not designed very well to face those dangerous righties.

Speaking of the Expos, Guerrero's contract is up next year. I wonder where he is going to go. It will be one hell of an addition whoever gets him. He is one hell of a player.

I don't wanna think about that now. I say worry abouth the problem when it comes time to deal with it and when it is a definete situation. -
Ooooooooooooooooh man!!!! There is nothin more satisfying than not only beating the Scrubs, but blwoing them out. Wow! Take that Scrubs fans who say, "Well we beat you in the first game," even though we used half of our minor league staff. Nothing like revenge for getting back at people !!
-
It's ok though he's a defensive specialist. Reminds me of a former White Sox player. Hmmmmm, who could that be..... *cough* Royce Clayton *cough*!!
-
I agree totally. Alomar will have a good first 1/4 or 1/2, and the wear 'n tear in his knees will begin to act up, and then Burke or Olivo (most liekly Olivo) will come and take his spot. It just depends how JM plays it out and how well Olivo and Burke do in AAA or deal as pinch hitters. The cards will play out soon enough, though.
-
Loaiza qill be put in front of Racuh, which isn't what I had hoped for. Rauch is having a very tough time in Spring Training and Loaiza is looking great. Once Danny gets back it looks like Loaiza will be in the 5 spot, which I do not like, because I like Rauch a lot. I know Loaiza earned that spot and conrats to him, but I really like that kid Rauch.

joe borchard must make this team imo
WhiteSoxPride3035 replied to baggio202's topic in Pale Hose Talk
.220 is unacceptable for a team with World Series aspirations. He'll have to hit higher than that. We don't need Borchard to hit HR -- we've got Thomas, Mags, Konerko, and Lee for that -- we need him to drive in runs and get on base. .220 is beyond unacceptable. Look at Frank from last year: he hit .253 and he got so much crap from the White Sox and all their fans (well, most of them). The last thing the White Sox need is a rookie hitting .220 in a year when we are supposed to be one of the elite teams in the AL. -
Was it a school field trip? If it was..you're one lucky kid. Yeah, it was a school field trip. I am in a class called Urban Studies, which is the study of Chicago. Tee funny thing is, Wrigley Field has more history, since it is older than USC, but the Scrub bastards woudln't let my school in! So this just goes to show you, the Scrubs are not fan oriented! It was damn fun! Go White Sox!
-
We'll get back at the Scrubs from earlier this ST, when the White Sox lost 2-3. Hopefully we'll screw them up like we had done to Colorado on Thursday.
-
Oh my God! Piazza had a look in his eye that was scary. He resembled Satan! I had nightmares about Piazza coming and attacking me. It was damn scary.

with only one lefty in the rotation it will be 1 lefty and 4 righties no matter where you put the lefty....if stewart gets the 5th spot then it makes to break up the lefties Good point. I know, either way, it is four righties and a lefty, but it would be better if the White Sox mixed up the rotation. Yeah, though, Stewart would be another lefty the Sox would have in the rotation. Nonetheless, mixing up your rotation always helps your team.
-
Congrats for Lofton, sort of. I think he'd be happier here or in San Francisco rather than in Pittsburgh ! Either way, good for him to keep playing. Keep racking up those SB's Kenny!
-
WHAT ABOUT LOAIZA??! He is a veteran pitcher who should be our #5 starter if Wright is not well. Number 4 would then be big old Jon Rauch.
-
I am happy for Buerhle, very. However, I would have liked to see Colon be our #1 guy and here is why: Instead of having a lefty, and then four righties, it would go righty, lefty, and then only three righties. I just think that would be a smarty rotation. Otherwise... way to go Buerhle !
