  1. Unless you're Jerry Manuel and your friend is Nardi or Waving Wally! As for crappy players being good coaches....I can only think of a few good coaches that were also good players....Joe Torre(though his job is actually quite easy)....Lou P, Dusty Baker, Mike Scoscia, Bob Brenly....maybe a few others as well....there were also some decent players that turned out to be s***ty coaches....like Don Baylor for example. I agree with the quote by SoxFavForever on this one. Friends don't let friends do that. But WiteSoxFan... what's wrong with Wavin' Wallie. I loved Wavin' Wallie, he was great. He was good at what he did... waving people home !!
  2. I agree with The Critic on this. I would have loved to see Howry in seasons to come, but alas, he was traded. Nonetheless he was a great pitcher while we had him.
  3. They all are great, I would be happy to have any of those logos on any of the White Sox. As long as the players' jersey's say "White Sox" here on the south side of Chicago, then I'm happy!
  4. Let's hope so. I do think Jon has a better chance, though. As I have said in the past, he has a lot more potential than Danny in my opinion. I'd be happy if both of them won it, but I think Jon has a more realistic chance than Wright.
  5. I don't care when he came. All I know now is that they have great chemistry. They go together like peas and carrots.
  6. Two things of adive for Stewart: 1) Get a smaller helmet 2) Practice pitching Can't wait to see him in action!
  7. I have to agree 100% with both Mac9001 and CWSOX on each of their statements made.
  8. I went to the second game of the Seattle-Chicago series in 2000. Yeah, you are right, playoff games are a blast. Even though we lost, I still had fun (but it would've been more fun if they won). I would love to go to a White Sox playoff game again.
  9. The Mariners, though, looked much worse than they did two seasons ago when they won 116 games, so that sufficed for a large rank drop.
  10. Exactly! Transactions, as much of a jip as it may be, are not looked at as much when putting out rankings in the offseason. They base most of the stats on what the White Sox did last season, and not what the Sox COULD do this season. Like ChiSoxFn said, the White Sox will have to prove themselves this season to be ranked higher in next year's offseason.
  11. How can you NOT like Hawk and DJ?! They are such great announcers and have such a great knowledge of the game, being former players and all. They not only know the Sox like the back of their hand, they know the MLB. A lot of other announcers need roster sheets to know all the players, but Hawk and DJ's announcing is so smooth you can tell they rarely use them. Besides, how can you say no to... YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARDDDDD......YESSSSSSS!!!!!
  12. HHAHA. Everclear, that would add some kick to the Red Bull. Hell, dirnking everclear is almost the equivelant of drinking rubbing alcohol!
  13. ur knees been acting up??? u better get that under control my brother or we're gonna have to trade u to milwaukee! and u wouldnt want that NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Please anything but that! Not the Brewers! Well, at least it is better than playing for the Cubs .
  14. It can be thrown a couple different ways, so it really depends on how a pitcher throws it in accordance to the stress level on the pitchers elbow.
  15. Amen, Pete_SSAC! I am counting down the seconds until that game! GO WHITE SOX!
  16. Also, sorry for creating this topic in the "baseball-related" forum. I don't think people would know what I was talking about if it was in a different forum, but, I could be wrong.
  17. Danny Wright is more likely to win the lottery....... he is nowhere near the level of talent that Jon Garland is. I think that Garland definitely has the tools to be a CY Young canidate...... I dont know if he will....... but he could. I totally agree with you here. Wright may have had a higher number in the W coulmn, but Garland has so much more potential. And, as for our future starters (like Malone and Munoz), I think they will replace starters such as Colon, who we will trade in the future, possibly for salary cap reasons. We just have to wait and see how this plays out. A look on the bright side though, no matter how it turns out, I will be happy with our lineup, be it our future starters, current starters, or a mix of the two.
  18. This topic was started in the forum about the deceased Oriole's pitcher, which I tohught was disrepsectful, even though I did take part in it. So I made its own seperate forum. I present the question, what is the best energy boosting drink? I said, and will still say, root beer. As long as it is caffennated and not in a can, it is amazing!
  19. I don't know why we are all talking about getting an energy boost in the topic of a pitcher dying. Seems kind of sad to me, even though I just made a post about soda as well. I guess we should all be ashamed... Or we can just start our own topic about energy boosters. Someone should start a forum about it... maybe even.... me! Away I go!
  20. Guys, guys, guys; you got it all wrong. It's all about the ROOT BEER! Ahhhhh you can't ever have enough of that stuff. Mmmmmmm nice, crisp, frothy goodness in every drink. Espeically fresh made, not the kind in a can.
  21. Jim (BigHurt4Evah), you still got it. You and your hilarious ways will never cease to be. Keep on making people laugh (in this case, especially HotSohChick1 )!!!
  22. I think that it's awesome with all the predictions, it's very cool to see what people think. In fact, that is what this site is all about, PEOPLES OPINIONS! So, make predicitons as much as you want people! Then again, I do agree with the fact that I just want the season to start. 33 DAYS AND COUNTING!!
  23. I'd have to agree with you 100% on this. I would never even think of trading Crede in this offseason after what I saw him do in the last month and a half of the season. I would also agree with the fact if KW decides to trade him, he should be hung. I would agree with the Hummel/Harris trade for Beltran. We could ensure then that Valentin would be at short and Jiminez would be at second. I could live with that trade. If it was done, I think we would stick Beltran in left and bench Lee. That is just my opinion.
  24. I admit Garciaprra doesn't have the best defense, but he has a better defense then Valentin, not to mention a more explosive offense. A lot of people would choose Nomar over Valentin, but Valentin is what the White Sox have right now, and I'm fine with that. He hasn't caused the White Sox any problems, he is a pretty good all around player, he could use some more work than others, but he is good. He was up for the Clemente Award this year was a great honor. He may not have the best defense or the best offense on the White Sox, but I am happy to have him in the White Sox lineup.
