  1. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 12:44 PM) Really sick and tired of the negativity. We can catch Detroit and beat them. We have 10 games head to head and a great ball club, solid manager and coaches. Screw the next 10, the next 24 or what ever. Our current goal is this. Beat the Angels. One game at a time. Stop watching the standings. Stop targeting the wild card. Just win baby. Your playoff position will take care of itself if you do that. I agree with most of what you say, however this may just be Detroit's year. (to win the central, the playoffs is a whole different monster) They've gotten a lot of luck, people seem to forget that we had a lot of balls bounce our way last year. I agree, a 6-3 road trip is a great start, hopefully we have a great homestand and carry it into September...and OCTOBER.
  2. QUOTE(Adam G @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 05:43 PM) Who was the last propsect Kenny Williams traded that ended up being really good in the pros? I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jeremy Reed. He hit .400 in AA, and now the Mariners have a future Ted Williams. Meanwhile all we got for him was a starter that pitched 8 shutout innings in Game 4 of the World Series. I really hope Kenny learns from his mistakes, and never trades another prospect from our fantastic farm system.
  3. I'd like to see it, but I agree with Tito. It won't happen.
  4. Zobrist with a double, 2 runs score for Tampa. 6-4 Red Cubs.
  5. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:42 PM) Talk about reactionary whiners. It's one damn game. Get a grip. Riske now has an ERA of 3.5 since coming over. WHAT AN UNRELIABLE beach Here is something that I keep reminding myself of.....We went 6-3 on this roadtrip. After the awful stretch we went through, If you were to tell me were going to pull that off, I'd take it in a second.
  6. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) The twins have pulled to within a run. 4-3 KC Wow, who didn't see that coming? lol. Is that guy from AAA still pitching? Smith I think. If he gets lit up some more Matt Garza will be on his way up to Minny.....
  7. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:39 PM) the know it alls are wrong once again... what a great pen. Would you prefer to have a bullpen say like the Indians or the Royals have?
  8. It's not over til it's over. Especially with this team.
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) Get used to it, cause we play 23 games in a row. He knows we need as much as we can get out of the starters because there aren't any breaks for the next 3 weeks. I will agree with that, however in the past he's been notorious for not taking them out in the past. There is a reason we acquired Mac, it was to help our starters out, so instead of going 7-8, on certain days where they had trouble they could go 6-7.
  10. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) WTF have you been watching all year, Cotts has given up so many go ahead runs when he was in, so has McCarthy over the course. Thorton and Jenks have been are most consistent guys... you need all the arms to win not just 2-3 from the pen. In case you haven't noticed our major problem this year has been our starting rotation...
  11. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) You're spiffting me, right? You're spiffting me, right? Okay so maybe not most of us. I'm just frustrated Honestly though heads, how many times has he let his starting pitchers in too long? It's happened more times than I can count this year.
  12. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) You play cause you get paid to, ask yourself why you cry when something bad happends, why even watch then? If you think ur Pen is good, I have a lakefront property to sale you in Arizona. Riiiigghhhtttt... KC is leading 4-1 over the Twins, I'm pretty happy with a 6-4 road trip, then again this game isn't officially over yet.......
  13. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:21 PM) Your more than welcomed to go and ask for the job, since you think to know what move to make on every situation that the Sox are in. Actually, I think most of us could do a pretty good job. These aren't difficult decisions to make, they're simple, easy moves. In case you haven't noticed Ozzie leaves out starting pitchers way too long, it's not 2005 most of them can't go 7 innings without giving up 5 or 6 runs. A managers job is to know what his players are capable of, this year he has done a horrible job of it.
  14. Pathetic. gosh darn gosh darn gosh darn gosh darn gosh darn someone want to let ozzie know it's August and we have a 1/2 game wildcard lead? meanwhile detroit is somehow still winning 1-0. gosh darn 2006. This year sucks.
  15. what the gosh darn was that? unreal....
  16. How much you want to bet that hit batter comes around to score?
  17. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) Were due for a bomb Or a strike out looking.....6 outs left to work with... gosh darn.
  18. Podsednik continue to impress..... How about a double Gooch?
  19. Boston, Detroit, Yankees, Twins are all leading right now... We really need to push 2 more runs across....
  20. I saw this on Roto World, Garza was dominate in AAA last night. I guess the Twins are trying a guy named Mike Smith tomorrow, if he doesnt do well it appears Garza will crack the Big Leagues. If he's anything like they're speculating him to be, I'm going to be REALLY concerned..... Here's a link: http://www.twincities.com/mld/pioneerpress...ts/15203603.htm
  21. We need a bloop and a blast right now....well done pods, that's what we're paying you to do. Good job.
  22. This is bullspiff. Amazing. Ozzie pisses me off before the game even started with Mackowiak in center, and of course the ball just finds him. Get someone that can play centerfield as a backup from Charlotte here, I don't care if he hits under .200, at least we'll have someone who knows how to judge fly balls in center.
  23. spiff. now we are in a huge hole. Already a great start, what the gosh darn was mackowiak doing? that ball was long gone.
