QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:58 PM) Would anyone be sad if Pods was traded? I've been praying for it. He's worthless. He's not good defensively, he's not stealing bases anymore....and oh yeah...he's not getting on base.... Great lead-off hitter.
-
Carlos Silva came into this game with a 6.91 era, are you kidding me? I'm really about to throw in the towel on the season, this is beyond frustrating...

^ The stupid stick hitting Buehrle for that 0-2 pitch.
-

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:36 PM) the twins are going to sweep the tigers this weekend Regardless of what happens between them this weekend, we can really help ourselves out by kicking the spiff out of Baltimore.
-
holy spiff, did we just get lucky? (I entered spiff automatically haha)

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:32 PM) anybody catch Leyland's visit to the mound to talk to Zumaya? Said about three words and split. Leyland:How you feeling? Zumaya: Good. Perhaps?

I can't wait until the trade deadline passes, than all the distractions will be gone....well except the ones Ozzie creates...

Just a quick question, I think I may need therapy...this is starting to feel a lot like last year's slump where we almost blew the 15 game lead. I know we didn't give it up, and people keep reminding me that this team rebounded, but I seriously feel like the season was lost tonight. I'm just wondering if any other posters feel an extreme sense of hopelessness after multiple losses. (bad losses, especially to the Twins and Detroit) I keep trying to tell myself that it's just baseball, and that it shouldn't affect me this much....but it does. (I actually have had trouble sleeping the past few nights thanks to the Sox) Do I need help?

QUOTE(Jake @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 05:10 PM) As far as I know, we aren't paying all 12 of that though. That's true, however it still makes me want to vomit.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 05:04 PM) Bmac moving into the rotation will free up 10 to 12 million a year. It wont be Joe going, more like something of the spicy latin flavor. Exactly. Either Freddy or Vazquez will be gone after this season. Vazquez's 12 million dollar contract makes me want to vomit.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 02:42 PM) It sounds like the holdup is who the 3rd guy would be. I have no idea if the first two are Fields and Broadway or some other combo (not including Felds but rather Pods) and than the question is who the 3rd prospect is. Either way its very interesting and I think in general it could help to get a few fresh attitudes/faces in here to try and break up the downer the clubhouse has become during this slump. I'd really love it if a real jokester would be out there that could come in and losen the clubhouse. One things certain, they want guys that will be able come up this year or next year. Its pretty evident that they don't want 2008 or later guys because if that were the case they'd might as well get the first round draft picks and test there luck with those. That makes me think, unless its a final prospect, all of the guys included would be in AA or higher. Heath Phillips and Chuck Haeger maybe, what about Jeff Farnsworth? They did lose Majewski earlier this season in a trade with the Reds.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 11:55 AM) I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of pissed off people if Soriano ends up getting traded to the Tigers in the next week. So many people got their hopes up, and they never took a step back to realize how a trade like this would really work out for the Sox. At this point with how we are playing, it might not matter by this weekend if the Tigers get Soriano. We could be over 10 games out if we don't get our spiff together....which makes me want to vomit...A LOT.

Nothing really new. Offman just reported if we were to acquire Soriano we'd trade him for more pitching help.
