  1. When an eternal optimist like myself is ready to wave the white flag, you know it's bad... Just plunk Young in the numbers, at least make me somewhat glad that I tuned in tonight.
  2. Playing this team is like the movie groundhog's day. Same stupid hamburgers day in and day out. This team has no balls.
  3. Not surprised at all by what I'm witnessing. Seriously, this hamburgers is really starting to get old. For once could we just come back and score 7 runs off Baker? We never have an answer for them, we never score first, we are always caught back on our heels. I'm sick of this garbage. I'm 6 outs away from turning this s*** off.
  4. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:31 PM) How quick do the players go through waivers? Like could the Dodgers say "Alright, the White Sox are now in 2nd place, we may have a chance to work out a deal w/ them w/o Minny blocking the claim. Let's put him through now". Or does it take a few days for a claim to be made? Is there a certain window you have to decide on a player if you want to claim him or not? Once placed on waivers teams have 48 hours to put a claim on him. After the 48 hour period is up and no claim has been made the player has made it through waivers and can be traded freely. If a player is placed on waivers Thursday or Friday, they 48 hour period extends and ends on the following Monday and Tuesday.
  5. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) They own us. Sad but true. They've abused us ever since Kelly's last season and since Gardy took over. It really is incredible.
  6. Ozzie rolling the dice...with the way things are going tonight I'm sure it will bite us in the ass. Come on Freddy.
  7. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) every August is like Ground Hog month, Sox-Twins tied for first with a quest to be better by a half game over a 30-45 game stretch those pathetic one run losses in BAL are going to haunt this team for the winter...... Too early to say that. After the 2008 season, I'm not willing to concede defeat until the last day of the season.
  8. I'm typically a very optimistic person when it comes to the White Sox... and I will say this, these guys better get their heads out of their ass in a hurry.
  9. Tampa loses again. Why the hell couldn't the Orioles have hired Showalter AFTER this series. Good god. What an absolute abysmal series from an offensive stand point. I can't wait to get out of Baltimore...
  10. Twins win. Thank god their cupcake schedule is over after tomorrow. Cleveland, Baltimore, Kansas City, and then Seattle. Doesn't get much more cushy than that.
  11. A rally from Seattle would be nice here....but that request seems way too farfetched to come true...
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:32 PM) Wrong, it is that weak. Flowers, Viciedo and Hudson (before the trade) were the only three names you ever heard about from our side. Because there's flat nothing else after that. It's not perception. It's cold reality. "were the only three names you ever heard about from our side." Reporters don't tour the minor leagues. We have more than just those 3 names. Believe me.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) I am happy. But our paper thin system really bit us in the ass. No one was going to trade for Dunn or Bautista. The asking price was ridiculous. Our farm system really isn't as weak as a lot of people perceive it to be. There is talent down there. Judging a team's farm system by Baseball Prospectus or Baseball America is a wash. Most of those guys don't even see the players they write about, they just regurgitate scouting reports from scouts that see guys pitch 6 innings or get 4 at bats and feel they are able to evaluate a player that is still developing in low or high a. My point is take what you read on the internet about team's farm systems with a grain of salt, because most of the time these so called "experts" don't have any idea what they're talking about.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) lol@waiver wire trades. That's for overpaid underachievers who teams are trying to dump. Not true. A lot of guys still have value even if they are underperforming, even you have to admit that. Carl Pavano, Alex Rios, and Adam Dunn (From Cincy to Arizona) were all key pick-ups over the last couple of years past July 31st.
  15. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:21 PM) Jason Goff says Sox offered Jackson and Flowers, Rizzo said no. Rizzo wanted Jackson and Viciedo, and Kenny said no. And everyone should be happy that he did say no.
  16. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) When will people understand that money isn't an issue. Every time someone complains about money, the White Sox add more payroll. Dude I'm telling you, you're not going to win this. If we had traded for Dunn and given up one of the "Prophets" (prospects) they would have criticized Kenny for giving up too much.
  17. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:11 PM) Alex Rios says hello. As does Carl Pavano, and Adam Dunn was also traded from the Reds to the Diamondbacks a couple of years ago in August.
  18. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) Why? There's still another month. I've been saying this for the past 48 hours. It was simple, we either give up Viciedo to get Dunn or Manny, or we wait to claim someone through waivers. I'll take the waiver route, and for all the people complaining about trading Hudson, they should be glad that Kenny didn't pull the trigger and give up Viciedo.
