  1. I'm out of here. I'll be shocked if we rally. This team needs a wake up call.
  2. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 02:33 PM) Let me get this straight: We're getting dominated by a guy who is 2-11, with a 6.72 ERA coming in to this game??????????? Yes we are. This is not the first time young pitchers have dominated us. I seriously wonder if the Sox even have a Minor League Video system in place. After talking to a few people apparently it's starting to become much more common across the league.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 02:28 PM) You have to love how every hitter keeps trying to pull that weak little slider by Berken. Looks like another strong offensive finish to the season for the Sox. I just posted something similar. Our team is so easy to have an effective game plan against. Hernandez was pitching the same way to our guys yesterday.
  4. Nice to know we have to rely on Oakland to beat Detroit again. I expect the whole field staff to be revaluated at the end of the season, getting some new players is a start, but I'm sick and tired of watching guys try to pull sliders on the outside corner. It's like our whole team has taken the Juan Uribe approach to hitting. Ridiculous.
  5. Getting dominated by Berken. Wonderful. Whoever our advance scout is, I think it's time to give him a boot.
  6. Just got in. I expected Freddy to suck, I told several members on this site I saw him in spring training. He nearly got taken out against the U of Michigan college team in the first inning. Freddy is done. He shouldn't have even been given a chance to start. Anyway, if we can't win tonight we better either win tomorrow or get help from Seattle. Getting both seem to be asking for too much lately.
  7. Alright we have the lead again. Way to pick up Linebrink/Ozzie Pods.
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 09:26 PM) a reliever screws the pooch and the manager should be fired. got it. I understand people are upset, but that's laughable.
  9. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 09:22 PM) Why? fathom's wanted Ozzie gone for awhile. Bottom line is that nobody in our bullpen is worth a s*** these days other than Thornton. While I have zero confidence in Linebrink, I really do think the rest of the pen can turn it around....hopefully sooner rather than later.
  10. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 09:20 PM) I have always supported Linebrink, but I'm REALLY getting tired of him. This.
  11. I think I speak for every White Sox fan when I say.... SCORE SOME F**KING RUNS ALREADY....(or 1 at this rate.)
  12. QUOTE (GordoTheGreat @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 11:01 PM) This is going to nip us in the butt, either way. It always seems that way out on the west coast. (and the Metrodome)
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 10:44 PM) Bad feeling about this game. Seattle should be down 4-0 or so. We really are fortunate that Detroit sucks as bad as they do. Against a legitimate contender we'd be 8 games out by now.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 10:42 PM) You called it. The pitches were up in the zone, yet no one could get it in the air. Usually I'm the first to defend these guys, but there is no excuse for that. You HAVE to get that run in with less than 2 outs. Ugh.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 10:21 PM) Nix was safe I only got the play on MLB Networks "Live Look In" Can you explain in further detail? Didn't get the tag down?
  16. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 10:19 PM) Yah, I know, I don't disagree with that. The job should have been done to the point where it didn't matter what Ichiro did. True. Easier said than done with King Felix. Well luckily Mark Buehrle has found his groove thus far. Hopefully we can scratch out a couple in the next inning.
  17. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 10:15 PM) Because we are 0-4 with RISP and suck at it in general. All you have to do is it a ball to mid to deep in the outfield away from Ichiro. He didn't strike out. That's good I guess. I understand that. Regardless Ichiro had all of his momentum coming right towards home plate, he set himself up perfectly, not to mention he has one of the best arms from right field. Cox should have known that, I understand it's King Felix, and I understand you try to force the issue in games like this, but there was no point to sending him there. He was a long gone.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 10:13 PM) Gotta love giving up 2 outs that inning. Ichiro was set up perfectly, he didn't have a prayer. It's almost comical they tried to score on that.
  19. You're kidding right? Why would you even challenge Ichiro...amazing.
  20. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) What team have you been watching this year? We are the worst late inning, from behind team in baseball. Don't care. I know this team can come through in the end when all is said and done. I have faith in them because of what happened last year. Granted they don't make it easy on themselves, but in both 2005 and 2008 it looked like all hope was lost, and they came through. Ozzie knows how to get through to his guys, and if anything they're pressing because they know they're in a pennant race. I'm quite aware we can't hit for s*** in the later innings, that wasn't my point. My point is is that you can't get worked up day in and day out. It's a pennant race, enjoy it. Just be glad you're not a Royals/Indians/Mets fan at this point. It's amusing to me how everyone overreacts after we lose 1 to 2 games. We just came off a homestand where we took 3 of 4 from the Yankees, 2 of 3 from the Angels, and 1 of 3 of the Indians. If you were to tell me that after that homestand we would go on the road with a 6-4 record, I'd take it in a heartbeat.
  21. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:14 PM) For the season I agree but you can pretty much write-off the Sox if they are down by 3 or more runs after 5 innings. They show no ability to come back late in a game. That does appear to be the trend this season, but anything can happen. Even if we lose tonight, it's not the end of the world. Although I'd prefer to get the first two with King Felix on the mound Wednesday.
  22. QUOTE (SockMe @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:10 PM) No, how we have looked so far, I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't get any more hits I've learned too many times in the past few seasons to never count this team out. Not with Ozzie at the helm. It's amazing how everyone is so quick to wave the white flag here. After what happened last season, I will not give up on this team until we are mathematically eliminated.
