  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 10:58 AM) Already wrote him an email. [email protected] Rock, Would you be so kind to post that e-mail? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
  2. From the Citi Field Page on Mets.com "Pitcher Friendly: Distinctive asymmetrical outfield walls, along with generous dimensions (LF - 335'; LC - 379'; CF - 408'; RC - 383'; RF - 330') make for a traditional pitcher's park." It's designed to be a pitcher's park. We're going to have to wait and see.
  3. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 11:03 AM) I'd almost take him as the main piece in a trade with the Mets to be honest (they'd have to throw in some pitching prospects also). To have a guy who could hit .300 under your control for 5 seasons would be extremely valuable, especially when he could potentially play in a big need position for the Sox (2B/3B). But the Sox would have to go into FA and sign a replacement for Vazquez. I'd look at one of the Japanese pitchers, as the likes of Lowe and Sheets are probably going to get too rich for KW's liking. You are correct. As long as the Mets agree to eat that 23 million dollar salary. Then I'd have no problem making him the main piece of this deal. If not than I want something else. Javy has a lot of value to the Mets because he can eat innings. Believe it or not, they'd be better of having Javy go 7-8 innings a game than handing the ball to someone in that bullpen.
  4. I've seen Murphy play in person. (Several times actually.) He's got a real nice short swing, and is a much more contact oriented player. He's not going to hit a ton of balls out of the park, but 20 HR's is def. in reach. I'd really be concerned about Murphy's defensive abilities at third base. From what I saw of him he looked like he may have some trouble with his footwork on hard hit ground balls. He's also not very mobile.... I think he can be worked with though and could at some point be an average defensive player. The thing I like about Danny is that he seems to be real clutch in RBI situations. It didn't seem to phase him playing either at the Minor or Major League level. The guy is a flat out ball player. The Mets are real high on him though. If Kenny were to acquire him as a throw in, I'd be ecstatic.
  5. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 06:48 PM) If that is our starting lineup 2009 I will punch someones puppy. A lot of people would have the same reaction if that was our line-up come opening day of 2009, but let's sit back and put a few things in perspective. Last January, how many fans were b****ing that we had Gavin Floyd in the starting rotation? Most of this site wasn't thrilled about our rotation, and it turned our strongest component. My point is Kenny is going to do whatever he can to make the team better, but if we have a "Chris Getz", "Jerry Owens", or a Josh Fields" in the starting line-up, let's not freak out until they actually have a chance to prove themselves. Now that I said that let me add my thoughts. I don't think Josh Fields is going to be the starting 3b for the White Sox. I also think we'll see a new CF come spring training. As far as the pen goes, I hope Kenny considers shopping Octavio Dotel, and I hope MacDougal and Broadway are traded elsewhere.
  6. Until right about now...but I can't blame them..
  7. I'd just like to say that I'm proud of our fans. They've been into the entire game. Cheers to that.
  8. I hope they bring in Balfour.....at least it will get the crowd riled up...
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 06:07 PM) WTF just happened? Therma-Flu ad? TBS botched that one.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 02:32 PM) Didn't sound like b****ing to me. He gave a matter-of-fact response to a question. Trust me. He's a b****.
  11. I think it's funny that Joe Maddon is b****ing about our grounds crew giving us a homefield advantage...you didn't hear Ozzie crying about playing in a s***ty dome... I really do hate Joe Maddon. I think he's a prick, and supposedly the feeling is mutual around the league.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 07:31 PM) Let's give the crowd a strong effort, as they deserve it for Tuesday. You can call me a homer if you wish, but I truly feel that our crowd Tuesday has been the most electric out of all the crowds thus far in the post-season. They were geared up and ready to go from the first pitch all the way until the last out. I do take pride in that fact.
  13. Doesn't matter if he held them scoreless this inning. He always s***s his pants in the 5th, or the 6th if he gets that far. Start warming Richard. CWSOX45
  14. Javy is horrible. Just horrible. Take him out after this inning. I'm not even kidding.
  15. Blackburn SUCKS on the road. At home he has an E.R.A. of 2.96, while on the road I'm pretty sure it's above 5. I know most of you will badger me for this, but the Twins are a GARBAGE baseball team outside the Humpy Dome. That place is a dump and I can't wait until it's demolished.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 11:11 PM) Great long post. I enjoyed it. Good stuff. I'm beyond being mad. It's laughable. It's the most amazing meltdown I've ever seen regarding my favorite teams in sports. I really don't know how you come back from something like this. I guess the only way you do is remember as how amazingly incredible as the 05 postseason was (in losing just one game and winning almost em all) the polar opposite has happened in '08. We've lost every game just as we won every game in 05. Losing every single game when only winning one or so would have given us the crown is so absurd it's laughable. We cut the lead to 8-6. Boom 2 more Indian runs. We lead Twins 6-1. Boom, they win. Never seen anything like this. And it's continuing. We still should force the game on Monday minimum. Will we? I'd think not. But hey ... I'm hoping and rooting! But again, if we lose six straight (maybe even seven straight if we and Twins lose tomorrow) to end this season ... how the hell do you come back from that?? Fire Oz? Just chalk it up to it being the polar opposite of '05? I have no answers. The interesting thing is is that baseball is a game of streaks.....sometimes you're hot, and sometimes you're down right awful. I'm just curious to see what would happen if we did make it to October. Chances are we would get smoked, but you just never know.....
  17. QUOTE (G&T @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 08:08 PM) How are Twins doing lately? They suck as bad as the Sox. True, but the Twins can "clinch" tomorrow. We can't. So sad but so true...
  18. My housemate just told me there is a better chance of a party bus filled with playmates showing up at our house than the White Sox coming back....unfortunately he's right.
  19. If we lose out I'd almost rather have the entire staff fired. We can't have this lingering over our heads in 2009. If we lose out, I have to say I won't be upset if Ozzie, Walker, and Cooper are all let go. Granted that won't solve all of our problems, we'd still have to clean house with most of our roster. White Sox Corpseball: What a mess.
  20. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 06:37 PM) Is it too much to ask for this team to win one f***ing game? Christ. Yes. It's even too much to as for 3 quality at bats in an inning.
  21. I will say this right now...This team is not coming back, this team is not winning the division, this team is done. I will gladly eat crow, but I don't think I have to worry about it.
  22. Our fans should just be booing the rest of the game. At least it would keep everyone into the game.
  23. The crowd needs to boo them as they walk off the field. This is unacceptable.
