  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 2, 2015 -> 02:22 PM) Buehrle and Uribe should never have departed. They've remained exceptional. Mark is worth every penny he's received since leaving. Uribe is so solid. MB leaving hurt the most. He has been a very solid producer since he left and was a fan favorite. Deserved to retire here every bit as much as PK in my opinion. I miss watching him pitch every 5th day.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 2, 2015 -> 10:43 AM) Buehrle got a win, and Cotts was untouched in 2/3 of an inning. I think those are the only 4 currently active for the World Champions. I would guess BMac had a nice day on the Twitter recuperating from surgery. Haha should have kept the team together. AJ > Flowers Buehrle > Danks We have a good bullpen, but I wouldn't hate having Cotts. And I'll take Uribe over Ramirez, although this very debatable.
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 1, 2015 -> 10:18 AM) Finally watched the first Hunger Games film. My wife and I are trading off movies. She watched all of the Harry Potter films with me and I'm watching the Hunger Games films with her. Maybe I'm just jaded by modern TV and film, but the movie seemed like a giant TV episode. There wasn't anything special about it and there really weren't any moments that made me awed or impressed. Can anyone explain why this franchise is so great? Does it get better in the other films? The first book is the best but the first movie has been the worst in the franchise so far. The movies get better and more professional looking after the 1st, as well as more suspenseful.
  4. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 25, 2015 -> 10:17 AM) Let me know if you want any other recommendations for Louisville. Definitely wouldn't hurt. Don't have a lot of time there, but if there is anything to check out, I'll be happy to learn about it. I wanted to do the underground cave zipline, but can't do it this time and am going to plan for it next time (my gf has a friend who lives down there so I imagine this to be a pretty consistent trip)
  5. I heading to Louisville and Nashville at the end of July. Going to tour a couple bourbon distilleries and then hit up Nashville. I've been to Nashville several times, but wanted to see if there is anything I should do down there that I haven't already. I've been to Bluebird Cafe (and may go again this time). Also been to most bars on the strip. Anything I am missing? Specifically looking for BBQ restaurants, but anything else to check out would be appreciated as well.
  6. I also appreciated the explanation in the movie that some of the dinos would look a lot different if he didn't genetically modify them. That covers why the Raptors are so big (even though they discovered some close to that size when the original was made) and why that one dinosaur has a weird neck thing and spits venom like substance.
  7. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 04:05 PM) So is this Warriors team an all-time great team? How would they have fared against the 90s Bulls, the Spurs in Duncan's prime, Shaq and Kobe's Lakers? Hell even the 2012 Heat? Um...they took 6 games to beat Lebron James and a bunch of nobodies....
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 14, 2014 -> 02:56 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/news/hawk-harrelso...-170003256.html They were also ripping him on The Score this morning and saying that he was sexist, an embarrassment, etc. After listening to them rip him on the Score, I've decided to give old 670 a break for awhile. While Hawk says some ridiculous things sometimes, they just take every excuse to rip him. I don't know one person who was offended by the comment and can't think of one person I know who would be. And logically, can we all just be realistic about ourselves for a second? Women wear skirts, there are not any women good enough to make the majors in baseball. The comment makes sense. Facts should never be offensive.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 9, 2014 -> 01:05 PM) Not comparing it, just was expecting better writing from a former Shield writer. I guess Sutter was responsible for all the extreme, f***ed up sh** on The Shield. Oh I didn't know that. That explains why so many ex-Shield cast members make appearances on Sons

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 8, 2014 -> 03:17 PM) So I started watching Sons Of Anarchy on Netflix. I'm a few episodes into season 3. Curious what any of you guys who've watched think (no spoilers), but here are my thoughts so far... I'd have to describe the show in a nutshell as laughable and hard to swallow. Maggie Siff is the WORST. ACTRESS. EVER. She makes Hayden Christianson look like Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Totally wooden and stiff, in fact that should be her last name, STIFF. I just want to scream at her to emote. Yet, I cannot figure out if I find her attractive or not. Gemma as a whole is annoying and pointless and does nothing for the show except create distractions. The show grinds to a halt when she's on camera. She is in no way the most desirable woman on the show, yet she's made out to be. It was ridiculous that Opie wasn't mad enough at Clay and Tig for what they did and just got over it when he found out what really happened to his wife. The attempts at humor and levity fall flat and are at best groan worthy after a few episodes. Oh, there's Tig waking up with a hooker's vagina in his face again! Haha, that never stops being hilarious. The "Patch Over" episode from the first season was by far the most eye rolling thing I've ever seen. When Jax laid the vest on the table like it was some holy garment, I almost stopped right there and then. While it's entertaining, it can't even hold The Shield's jock. I really hope that Kurt Sutter did research before he created this show, but I doubt it. Comparing shows to the Shield really isn't fair. Shield is one of the greatest shows of all time imo. Sons is what it is. It's entertaining and fun to watch most of the time, but its not the caliber of something like The Shield or Breaking Bad.
  11. I think Kershaw being so far from the bag caused the error. Gillaspie realized he should be running to third mid-throw and didn't follow through with a good throw. Dumb error either way

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 22, 2014 -> 11:12 AM) Same, one of my favorite shows on TV. Also Survivor delivered another great season. Good finale too. Tony vs Spencer would have made an interesting final two. Glad they went back to two as well.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 09:59 AM) Anyone still going with Vikings? I was glad to see Logatha and Bjorn back. I can't wait to see what happened to the Priest. Very entertaining show so far. The battle scenes this season have been phenomenal. Looks like the priest should have gone back with Ragna
  14. QUOTE (Nunnigan @ Feb 28, 2014 -> 10:39 AM) America votes for the best "Best Picture" winners of the past 64 years While the winning movie was good, it definitely wasnt the best overall Godfathers facing off against each other on the right side.
  15. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Mar 1, 2014 -> 07:09 PM) Sounds like a party. Im suppose to be there June 19-23 for EDC. That sounds fun. I went to EDC Chicago last year, I'd like to check out Ultra in Miami at some point. A couple of my friend went to EDC Vegas last year, they said it was fun, but it's a hell of a trip from the strip
  16. I'm heading to Vegas again in April. Staying at the Wynn, gonna try to see Avicii at XS or Encore Beach Club. Somebody always has some Vegas tips no matter where you ask, so anyone recommend anything? We are traveling 4 guys deep, so anything from nightclubs/bars to strip clubs, etc.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 02:11 PM) So a colleague of mine at work was doing pull-ups on one of those bars you put in your door frame or whatever, and the thing came loose and he fell on his neck and permanently damaged his spinal cord, causing what appears to be paralysis from the waist down, with some basic movement in his upper body. Everybody who uses these things make certain it is really in there correctly and provides the appropriate stability necessary. I have never used one because I never felt safe using them, but I know several of you probably do, so please be careful. What did you use for P90X?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 3, 2014 -> 07:31 AM) Wish Jimmy/Steve would come back from the dead...and not looking forward to all the dramatic possibilities with the four babies on the way, either. I said the same thing when they killed Jimmy Darmody from Boardwalk. Jimmy/Steve wasn't the main character, but his character made the show much more interesting. After Darmondy died, Boardwalk was good, but never quite as good. It's probably a good thing they never showed Jimmy/Steve dying, as if the show continues in this direction they could possibly bring him back. Ofcourse by that time, Fiona will have to be in a serious relationship with someone else she isn't already cheating on to make it more interesting.

  20. I think she is hot and a talented actress. I found myself looking forward to her scenes in American Hustle and not just because she is nice to look at...
  21. Hustle was good. I'm more pumped about The Wolf of Wall Street opening this week.
  22. QUOTE (MAX @ Nov 2, 2013 -> 09:54 PM) What happened to matt thorton, anyway? I didn't see him make one pitch. I don't think he made the playoff roster
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 1, 2013 -> 03:17 PM) Finally, is anyone else getting tired of Vince Vaughn movies where he's essentially playing the same character (see Adam Sander, Owen Wilson or Michael Cera) over and over again? I miss the Vince Vaughn from Swingers...

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 04:21 PM) Couple things that didn't make sense in the final: How did Walt get back to New Mexico from New Hampshire so damn quick to be there when the Grey Matter people got home when the lady on the phone said they would be back that night. Didn't make sense. Also how did he get ricin in the packet for Lidia?? You can't reseal that packet and it isn't where she always sits. Last time she met Todd she sat by the window I though. This time was different?? What does everyone think? She was sitting by the window when she met Todd the time before, but I believe that was more of an impromptu meeting that Todd called. Still not sure that she always sat in the same place though as I think I remember her sitting by the window when she met Walt as well. So not sure how he knew she would sit there?

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 23, 2013 -> 09:11 AM) Dexter was a total money grab the last 2-3 seasons. If there was ever an example of a show that shouldn't have gone past 5 seasons, this is the show. Stupid season. Uninteresting ending. Its a shame because Michael C Hall plays the character so damn well. The writing just wasn't there after the Trinity season. And this was probably the most disappointed I have ever been in a finale.
