QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 09:08 PM) So it doesn't matter that we used to use lead paint, ride bikes without helmets, ride in cars without seatbelts, many kids riding in the back window, etc? Parents do those things now, DCFS has a hissy fit and tries to take your kids away. Attitudes were different then towards safety, life, etc. I didn't say it was a nice thing to do. I couldn't imagine doing that myself. But by the reaction of a few people here, you would have thought he shot the dog with a bb gun or something, or just tied his leash up to the luggage rack and had the dog hold on for dear life. God forbid he let the dog in the car. That would have been asking too much.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 04:05 PM) I want to gouge out my eyes after reading this. Wow. What a piece of crap this man is.

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 11:48 AM) Maybe he can spend some of that in Illinois. Or will he just take the state for granted and ignore us? Why single out one candidate? They will all focus on the same states.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 09:36 AM) As I contended on page three of this thread: there's a LOT more going on then the media has reported. This whole thing was bulls*** from the beginning and it was a giant smokescreen, IMO. My opinion never changed from day one of this season, and it still hasn't. MB will not pitch for the White Sox beyond this season. The only difference now is: it's more just a matter of when he's traded. KW's "slip-up" at Soxfest told us what to expect, and this "change of heart" crap that was talked about in the media last week was just a bunch of hooey to get Sox fans to think they were trying. I am really beginning to think that both sides were just posturing for the inevitable. I really now expect MB to make his last start at Comiskey (as a part of this ball club, anyway) tonight. Hey, if I'm wrong, I'll say so. Nothing in the past 10 days has told me anything different then what was said going into the season. You may be right....for once.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 08:46 AM) Obama raises a record $32.5M for the past quarter, dwarfing the $21M raised by Hillary Clinton. He has no chance.

After playing volleyball at the beach all day yesterday we walked over to Chipotle on Rush Street. Jerry Reinsdorf walked past us. Was kind of cool.

Who the heck is this Fontenot guy? Why doesn't he ever make an out?

God I hate the Cubs.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 02:43 PM) Interesting movie. I never knew so many countries had free universal health care paid for by the government. Lots of sad stories about people being denied. I look forward to checking out the film. Perhaps tomorrow evening.

This is a response from a woman on my Logan Square email list regarding today's Sun Times article on Tony Serrano (19 year old gang member who shot and killed a 13 year old earlier this week). The Sun Times article can be found here --> LINK

Wow. The Sox are no longer 30th in a couple of offensive categories (see my sig).

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 06:10 PM) Go take your sanctimony and your piousness to another thread of "OMG! GEORGE BOOSH IS TEH EVILS". In fact, take your rhetoric clogged latte liberal jackass holier than thou self to some re-runs of the Colbert Report. I didn't sit here during the Sopranos and say "Did you know that they all dress up as supposed mobsters and pretend to run a crime syndicate? Did you know that they only pretend to shoot each other?" No, I and the other wrestling fans here didn't. Every show is choreographed and scripted. But it is hilarious for you to single out wrestling because it doesn't meet your high brow liberal cultural standards of knowing what is good for everybody. So, go take your anti-pro wrestling bias and have a nice cool glass of shut the f*** up and leave us the f*** alone on this warm summer evening. LMAO. Perhaps you should put down the roids yourself.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 03:44 PM) This is a special day for me. Frank Thomas was the player I idolized growing up. From his swing, to his gritty work ethic, I wanted to BE the Big Hurt. Thank you so much for the inspiration Frankie! And congratulations!! YOU DID IT!!!! Didn't you admit late in 2005 or early last season that you just started following the Sox?

When do they put up the bronze statue in center field?

To the greatest Sox hitter of all time.

As a famous cleanup man once said "Lets not start sucking each other's dicks just yet"

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 10:27 AM) Mmmm, hmmmm. Can I start the BS flinging party? I just can't believe this at all. I hope I'm wrong. Why would you fling me?

Now all we need to do is dump Contreras and sign Zambrano in the off season.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 10:10 AM) im sure there are a ton of incentive he can make. An extra year at $15M for every no hitter he throws.

Time for another Buehrle gem.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 10:23 PM) All hell is breaking loose in Cubs game. Eyre/Howry gave up 6 runs in like 3 minutes to blow the lead, and a fan went out to tackle Howry after it. Could you imagine what a huge story this would be if this happened at the Cell with a Sox fan? It's barely even mentioned anywhere.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 02:57 PM) It definitely goes first. But out of this unfathomable tragedy will rise a media looking to crucify the wrestling industry's existence. It's going to be miserable. And my dream come true.
