QUOTE(Shadows @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 01:57 PM) reading blows, I cant see any logical reason why someone would rather read a book then watch a movie where they don't have to do any work at all but sit there and watch it.. I think its a complete joke that anyone can say books are better than movies, and no you super nerds the book is never scarier than the movie.. Quite an impressive philosophy. You should put that in your resume.

QUOTE(Shadows @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 01:13 PM) Nope, and I have no plans to ever read a book ever again in my life Bravo. That's something to be proud of.

QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 12:40 PM) So you're saying his defense wasn't good in 2005 and 2006? It was average to slightly above average in 2005. In 2006 he decided to fill his shoes with cement.

I think you are watching old footage from 2001 when you say "pretty good defense".

Boy, that didn't take very long.
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 09:22 AM) Why, because you 100% support her position? Sure why not. I just keep seeing more and more reasons to get rid of this clown. Like this: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19675580/

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 06:34 PM) Independent film channel is a new favorite of mine after viewing several interesting movies the last several days. Among them are two standouts -- "Once Were Warriors" and "The Magdelan Sisters" (Nora Jane Noone ). I don't know if anyone has heard of either, but if you're in Blockbuster or Hollywood Video and happen to see these titles, they're worth the money. I'm a huge fan of IFC although I haven't seen those 2 in particular. I'll keep my eyes open for them.

For the hip hop fans out there check out Marco Polo's "Port Authority". Very solid. Reminiscent of 90s era hip hop. Lot of old school guest rappers.

Bush commutes Scooter Libby
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 12:26 PM) Why should the executive be able to throw out the work of the legislature (perjury laws) and judicial branches (trial by jury, conviction, sentencing) at will, with absolutely no reprocussions or limits on the power? I am with you on this. Seems to defy logic.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 10:42 AM) You KNOW the press corp had 85,000 people in the room SCREAMING that question to Tony Snow today. So again, the "beat" goes on... From what I have seen the press room is very small. 85K might be a bit on the high side.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 10:09 AM) The heart wants what the heart wants. He wasn't married, I assume his partners weren't also - or maybe that were the controversy comes in. People should be so nosey and concern themselves with what others do in their bedrooms. Yeah but he's the CEO. Consensual or not, that is highly inappropriate in Corporate America.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 09:26 AM) Creepy? Do tell. Creepy in a pedophilia kind of way. The ads feature what look to be 15 year olds wearing skimpy outfits. I feel dirty going into the store looking at all their ads that are plastered across the walls. Some info on the CEO from wikipedia:

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 12:09 PM) http://biz.yahoo.com/rb/070630/books_madei....pf=family-home Interesting article/book review. If you think about it, what can we buy that's NOT made in China anymore? American Apparel clothing. Sure their ads (and CEO) are creepy but you're supporting American made products.

GOP Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 09:08 PM) So it doesn't matter that we used to use lead paint, ride bikes without helmets, ride in cars without seatbelts, many kids riding in the back window, etc? Parents do those things now, DCFS has a hissy fit and tries to take your kids away. Attitudes were different then towards safety, life, etc. I didn't say it was a nice thing to do. I couldn't imagine doing that myself. But by the reaction of a few people here, you would have thought he shot the dog with a bb gun or something, or just tied his leash up to the luggage rack and had the dog hold on for dear life. God forbid he let the dog in the car. That would have been asking too much.

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 11:48 AM) Maybe he can spend some of that in Illinois. Or will he just take the state for granted and ignore us? Why single out one candidate? They will all focus on the same states.

Buehrle Fest
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 09:36 AM) As I contended on page three of this thread: there's a LOT more going on then the media has reported. This whole thing was bulls*** from the beginning and it was a giant smokescreen, IMO. My opinion never changed from day one of this season, and it still hasn't. MB will not pitch for the White Sox beyond this season. The only difference now is: it's more just a matter of when he's traded. KW's "slip-up" at Soxfest told us what to expect, and this "change of heart" crap that was talked about in the media last week was just a bunch of hooey to get Sox fans to think they were trying. I am really beginning to think that both sides were just posturing for the inevitable. I really now expect MB to make his last start at Comiskey (as a part of this ball club, anyway) tonight. Hey, if I'm wrong, I'll say so. Nothing in the past 10 days has told me anything different then what was said going into the season. You may be right....for once.
