White Sox vs. Twins, 5/10/07 (W)
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 10, 2007 -> 01:06 PM) He has a lot of line drive outs. Luckily, they've been hit right at people. A few feet either way and this is a different ballgame. But, yes, otherwise he has been very efficient. I like my Ryan Sweeney better than yours.

Although I'm only following on Gameday it seems like Jose is pitching very effectively today. Low pitch count and minimal base runners.

Obama with another gem of a quote
QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 10, 2007 -> 10:05 AM) ...if the cheese head in the White House misspeaks, it's earth shattering news and he should be hung for it. Well I think there are 2 ways to "misspeak". One is an accident like this instance with Obama or when Bush screwed up the bicentennial thing the other day. Another way to misspeak is to pretty much lie. That's where a lot of people hammer the Bush administration.

Nice to see that the offense is showing signs of life. Hopefully they can keep it up.

Obama with another gem of a quote
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 10, 2007 -> 09:40 AM) He has now missed on a tornado death toll by 9,988 and claimed his birth wouldn't have been possible without an event 4 years after his birth. That's pretty bad, lol. I'm sure he had Iraq, Katrina and who knows what else spinning in his mind as he spouted out that number. It was a mistake. In the scheme of things I don't think voters will shun him based on that. If he is not able to formulate clear stances on how to solve major issues than I can see people tuning him out.

Pods Update
When Pods comes back I don't want him leading off. Here's a stat I just plucked from the Sox Machine blog:

Who wants Ozzie's head?
QUOTE(southsideirish @ May 9, 2007 -> 04:52 PM) Your right. He is outstanding. I don't have a clue what I am talking about. He looks great in every game I watch him play. You stated that he has not done anything since 2005 and I proved that 2006 was a better year offensively for him. If you're talking about this year than yeah he is stinking up the joint...along with 99% of the rest of the hitters.

Catch-All Anything Thread
Anyone read the story about the sidewalks on the Trib's main page today? Here's a reply that someone left regarding the story. Made me laugh because I feel the same way:

Who wants Ozzie's head?
QUOTE(southsideirish @ May 9, 2007 -> 03:45 PM) A game here or there does not make a solid player. It makes Tuffy Rhodes or Jerome Walton. So the fact that he had a better batting average, more HRs, more RBIs, more walks, more runs, less strikeouts, and a better OBP last year as opposed to 2005 makes him similar to Tuffy Rhodes? Get a clue.

Who wants Ozzie's head?
QUOTE(southsideirish @ May 9, 2007 -> 03:29 PM) Too bad he hasn't done a thing since 2005. And everyone else is overreacting? Heh The 7 RBIs in 2 innings vs Houston last year was luck.

2007 White Sox Catch-All Thread
My sig barely changes each day as I update it. You would think occasionally we'd face a pitcher that is so off that we'd put up a huge inning here or there. We haven't come close to anything like that. Even when pitchers look awful and are throwing meatballs all night we don't take advantage. Heck, we can't even get lucky and play a game where the other team's defense gives up several runs to lead to a blow out. What's the most we scored in a single game? 6? 7?
-
Aardsma stop doing that
Lets face it. There are only a handful of relievers in all of baseball that are dominating year in and year out. We have some pretty solid guys in our pen but none of them are elite.
