  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) I don't mind honoring these guys, but I think it's ridiculous that Jerry Reinsdorf told Juan Pierre to honor Scott Podsednik all season by getting caught stealing and picked off twice a week.
  2. Evidently someone pissed all over someone's igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks today.
  3. This would be like the Yankees honoring Scott Brosius and Hideki Irabu from the '99 team. It's just a reminder to me of how terrible the history of the White Sox is where we have to honor Juan Uribe and Jon Garland.
  4. I feel short changed that Ozuna was never recognized.
  5. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ May 20, 2011 -> 03:16 PM) Sheesh... Remember. He's a robot.
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 20, 2011 -> 03:06 PM) True on both of those. It'd actually be interesting to see how this boards top 5 from that season would compare to the general fan base because it'd be quite the difference that's for sure. I smell a poll brewing.
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 20, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) Hmm top 5 fan favorites of 05: Buehrle, Konerko, Crede, Rowand, Jenks maybe? Be an interesting topic. AJ has to be in there. Everyone loved him that year. Pods too.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 20, 2011 -> 02:54 PM) O Rly? Yeah really. I doubt he'd crack the top 5 of fan favorites for the 2005 team. Not sure he'd crack the top 10.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2011 -> 02:40 PM) Here's my thought on this. We hear so much about the player relations problems when the happen. They get made into some huge controversy when they happen, and spun into this idea that no one will ever want to play here. The reality is this is just an example of the organization going out of its way to recognize successful former-employees. I think it is a great idea. I get it but how many people have bought Uribe jerseys over the years? He was nowhere near being a fan favorite. It just seems like doing something just for the sake of doing it. Disclaimer: I love Uribe.
  10. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 20, 2011 -> 02:23 PM) Had to get in the last word with the apology huh? What a richard.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 20, 2011 -> 02:13 PM) Good old Soxtalk... if the thread says "Trade" it'll get at least 50 replies. You should have used that word in the thread where you were trying to unload tickets.
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ May 20, 2011 -> 12:50 PM) hahahahahahhahahah These people can vote AND have children.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 20, 2011 -> 12:00 PM) While you're at it: LOL
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ May 20, 2011 -> 11:59 AM) chris webber was a pretty successful producer. The Biggie and Detlef Schrempf track from the Jerry Maguire soundtrack was weak.
  15. BTW, here's that Maher clip I was referring to the other day.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 20, 2011 -> 11:27 AM) So...there is a plane with one of those giant banners orbiting Knoxville right now. I was surprised, because the university is out, so half the buildings here are empty. Looked up...and what is it advertising for? Why, the fact that May 21 is Judgement day. Seriously? It has to cost what, a few thousand dollars to print up a 20 yard long banner, rent a plane, pay the runway fees and registration, then fly it behind the plane orbiting around a small city for an hour. right? Now I'm not a religious person, but from what I do know of Christianity, if you genuinely thought the world was going to end tomorrow, and you wanted to do something with money beforehand...would you blow it on a stupid plane? Or maybe, would you do something like go to the churches and homeless shelters in the area and decide that you were going to make sure that no child in Knox county went to sleep hungry tonight? Which of those would Jesus do? How does flying a plane save souls?
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 20, 2011 -> 07:29 AM) Pump out extra CO2 so that eventually the planet locks itself into a permanent El Nino state and we stop getting La Nina springs like this one? Sunday April 10th: 23K fans, Temp was 83 degrees Monday April 11th: 20K fans, Temp was 67 degrees Wednesday April 13th: 16K fans, Temp was 68 degrees The Sox were even above .500 during this stretch. So no excuses that we were playing terribly.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2011 -> 11:10 AM) You didn't pick up Shaq's CD? He had a good verse in What's Up Doc by the Fu-Schnickens.
